This Loco is just amazing in this paint scheme, Massive Credit goes out to "Eastleigh Paint Team" for this Flawless livery, has to be the best 69 painted to date, Love the 82A Oval Plate under the Cab which is "Bristol Bath Road" now sadly bulldozed, Can't wait to see it on the Mainline in use with GBRf, I use to remember D1200, Ex-D0280 Falcon when it was transferred from Bristol Bath Road (Prototype for the Western Loco's fitted with a Maybach Diesel Hydraulic Engine) the loco was transferred to' Ebbw Junction shed in 1974 & it was not used that much & then painted BR Blue & everytime passing on a local train it was 99% on the shed & occasionally strayed to the other side of the shed & into a small depot to the left of the tunnel as you enter on Newport Station (held 6-10 locos usually Class 37's), Sadly D1200 was scrapped in 1976 & could not be saved due to legal reasons, 69012 Brings back many memories in the 70's when I was in High School. GBRf Well Done!
Oh yes!!! 69012 looks amazing as Falcon2. And I agree with the previous comments.... awesome work by Arlington services. Seeing the great work done by Arlington services, I thought of the following paint jobs: Kestrel2 (as worn by Brush's HS4000 'Kestrel') Lion2 (as worn by BRCW's Type 4 'Lion')
I love the Brush Diesels & I always have, hence the fact that this item popped up in my feed but paying homage to a historical engine by painting a new one in its colours with a badge on it is not a triumph of engineering. Can we expect to see a Type 69 painted in banana yellow and ochre with a Kestrel badge on the side some time soon? The Type 69 does look really good in the two tone green livery though, notwithstanding the fact that externally it is to all intents of purposes a Type 56 as we all know.
Bachmann announced a few years ago that they would be making it, I think a couple of months back it had got to pre production model stage so I’d imagine it will be out sometime late this year/early next year.
Great job! A fitting tribute to the original Falcon which I saw several times at Reading. Sad to see some on here criticising GBRF for doing a these tributes. OK there're not an exact copy, but that would not be possible to comply with modern regulations. Now, dare they do a tribute to "Lion" which I never saw. An all white freight engine.......interesting!!
@@Simonize41 Regulations regarding warning ends, light clusters, high intensity headlights etc. Oh, and well spotted the typographical error that I missed. I humbly acknowledge your superior intellect. Or is it just smugness??

Beautiful! I love the commemorative livery, I just really wish they'd put different engines in the 69s - I hate that yinging sound at idle, and I'm not smitten with the noise they make on load either. I get that it's economies of scale to use Shed engines, but they just sound so dull...
Am I the only one who's not a fan of those non authentic liveries? Whilst not in any way taking away from the quite excellent work the painters have done, I prefer to see locos in the livery they wore for most of their careers, normally BR blue. I remember seeing 40 145 in large logo and thinking it just wasn't right.
@@damiendye6623 yeah, I get that ,but you need to try to be as faithful as is practical to the original, which I have now found out DID have squared-off corners to the yellow warning panel and white D0280 numbers!
You may want to think about what you say before posting, I am sure this is official. GBRf are strict with rules. They wouldn't let a certain person on randomly without arrangement...

Lovely to see a diesel in a proper colour. Wish they'd repaint the Westerns from that garish BR blue.
Have to say I don’t mind the blue but it’s not my favourite, a nice green one would be nice or desert sand

We didn't get 'stick the Sulzer back' with the 57s!
They rebuilt them with the 710 engine to extend their lives from the scrap man. Be thankful.
