That feeling when the intro about Linus, WAN Show, and Frustration could either have been scripted, legitimate, or... both.
The problem is, if Linus hosted a show talking about Android being broken, people would think HE broke it. Which he probably did, tbh.

Bro Lenovo's Legion logo is literally just a segmented circle how tf can they sue over that? That's like if Google started suing companies that use a G as their logo
Another reason why companies need to be shafted
Because if they don't and someone points out they didn't in court, via US law, they lose their Legion trademark. They have a literal legal obligation to use over it otherwise they lose rights. They have no choice.
Googles logo isn't a just a generic G though.

Yeah Lenovo definitely doesn't want to be connected to anything even remotely to do with right to repair lol. I guess next they will sue the fan manufacturers because some of the internal fans in laptops have a metal backplate that looks like the logo...
And their legion lineup seems to have problem with exploding vccsa
Which is even funnier, cuz their ThinkPad lineup is fairly user-serviceable, as far as I know.
They have to because it's their trademark and that's their duty to uphold it. Once you not taking action to protect your trademark for whatever reason, the law states you'll lose you claim to that trademark and everyone is free to use it after. The point is they have a duty to take action, regardless of the outcome.

I was waiting for when the big computer manufacturers will start going after framework.
I'll bet anyone $100 that if framework is successful they'll get bought up by one of the big companies, they'll ruin framework before just shutting it down.
No one was "going after" framework. It was a dumb IP protection thing Lenovo legally had to do to protect a logo that was accidentally "copied" by a functional power button on a 3D printed case. It's one of those things that if they didn't try to protect their logo, it would be harder in the future when someone really tried to steal their logo, as there would be precedence that they didn't try to protect their copyright and could lose copyright on the logo. They weren't attacking anyone. Normal business operations.

They've spent the last few years taking away features on newly launched phones like the headphone jack, headphones, charger, ect, but that wasn't enough, they also needed to start taking away features from phones that launched years ago.
They are starting to get competition from dumb phones that lack smart features.

I'm surprised a software update broke wireless charging, I thought that was a hardware feature that isn't really software controlled.
If it wasnt controlled by software it might charge your batre over 100% and caused Samsung note 7 tragedy all over again
bruh, everything on your phone is controlled through software
@@ignacio.s i think firmware is the main problem here, since it's the thing that connect between software and hardware so they can talk to each other
tl;dr: The charger and host OS communicate with the latter taking other information into account to either tell the charger to "go" or to "stop".
Now imagine it forgot how to do the former. That is basically what happened. :)
@Fashinqu A. Even more mediatek, life's been hard for custom rom devs and maintainer when dealing with closed kernel source and firmware
Appreciation comment for all of LMG but the concept shines bright here on TechLinked. These channels may not look like much at its surface, but I personally am grateful for this team giving me a basic understanding of what tech we depend on in our everyday lives.
It was 42 degrees in Shanghai yesterday, biked for 9 minutes and nearly melted. That's almost 110f, probably higher on pavement.
Cool shirt Riley. Also, fwiw you rock that 'stache and very few can do that!

I had a wonderful pixel 4, then great pixel 4xl, and now I'm suffering with Pixel 6. My god do I hate the horrible reception and glitches. But design is so cool that I can't make myself swap it for a regular looking one X_x
By 'design' you mean fashion. Design used to mean engineering but now you just like the fact your phone has pink flowers on it. Gay.
Just run Graphene or CalyxOS. Either is better than Googled Android and will likely run flawlessly on your Pixel
Lineage os or e/os as well
I want to run one of these open source operating systems but I'm from Sweden and I've heard that an app called BankID doesn't work on those operating systems. BankID is used for citizens to identify themselves and os required to be a functional member of society here in Sweden.
I use LineageOS on my Razer Phone 2.

Whilst custom ROMS are good, dont forget how community driven they are. If nobody replies to your issue tickets, you are just as boned as using Google'd Android :)

Pretty happy my Pixel 6 was one of those only updated to another 12 version. My fingerprint unlock sucks, my calls over WiFi break sporadically, and my cell reception is terrible, but at least the rest still functions. Sorta.
I can't access the wallpaper & style settings since updating to 13 on my pixel 6 pro :(
Double authentication has been a thing you could do with root (all-be-it not easily) for a long time. It is useful especially when it comes to biometrics, which is easier to fool than brute forcing a password. I never understood why companies did not give you the option to do this beforehand. Mainly Samsung should have done it on their phones with dedicated hardware for iris scanning. Facial unlock has come a long way since we started using IR, but it took time to get to Android after Apple introduced FaceID. I believe even a dumb face unlock would be more secure if it included iris scanning, and a 3D face unlock with iris scanning would be even better.
I have a Pixel 4 that is also on the Fi network. I am extremely lucky I guess, because i've had no issues. Especially either of these. And I know how much google and screw simple things up.

I really hope that Embracer ends up doing something actually worthwhile with Middle-earth. Games like Shadow of Mordor (which I regretfully haven't played yet) seem to be well-received, but that upcoming Gollum stealth game is looking sketchy at best. That said, one can imagine a world in which a talented and well-organized game dev studio produced a well-made narrative-led adventure game that was a true and faithful adaptation of stuff like core stories from the Elder Days - how cool would it be to play as characters like Beren, Luthien, Turin, and others as you carry them through their stories? Or delve deeper into more obscure bits of Middle-earth like the long conflict between Numenor and Far Harad, or the wars of Arnor and Angmar in the north? There's so much potential for what they could do. Whatever it is though, I strongly hope it's an actually faithful and respectful recreation of Tolkien's writings, not the misbegotten abomination Amazon's The Rings of Power is shaping up to be.
I believe if they let Coffeestain make those games, oh boy i would love seeing Goat Simulator LoTR edition!
Jokes aside, I do believe it is in good hands tbh

Well, "Embracer" is THQ Nordic / Nordic Games.
And so far their track record has been kinda good especially when it comes to re-publishing abandonware-titles.
Just really hoping they'll get a bit better stranglehold over "Koch Media / Deep Silver" so we could get "Dead Island Epidemic" back and revive other Deep Silver-butchered tattles.
---
@@PaveMentman I follow a few other channels that covers pop culture and they are not as happy with Embracer taking over the IP as the gamer side of the coin. They are mostly upset because they think Embracer will open up a themepark dedicated to LoTR, which is also something they did get with the deal. I doubt they will do such a thing in a near future or ever tbh. Still believe Embracer is one of the silent good ones, given their track record so far

And co-working with their importing-business when I was helping around in a store called "Game Paradise" that was run by one of the former Nordic Games (of the very same store) employees in Turku

My pixel 5a exploded the other day after I dropped it. I have been trying to deal with Google Fi for two months now to resolve the issue. @@tgreinpersonal How? Major updates once every two years would help ease the bugs that keep getting introduced and stop "necessitating" the pointless new features they make instead of fixing bugs.
There isn't that much progress anymore in the os. If they don't have any real major update, there is no point to release every year. They should focus to make updates more universal. Then they could release minor updates more easily if they need to fix a bug or so.

If you look it up in LOTR lore wizards are super specific and there's 5 (gandalf, saruman, radagast, and the two blue wizards). I'm loving AOS13 on pixel 6 pro so far.
My take on biometric scanners is still that it's easier (for E.G. US Police) to hold up the phone to your face or manipulate your body to unlock it, than for anyone to make you say your password.
