Honestly, the slap is not even the worse thing to happen at the Oscars. John Wayne had to be held back from attacking Sacheen Littlefeather, a Native American woman, on stage. It took SIX security guards to hold him back

@@obliviousfantasy633 Yeah only one horror movie, Silence of the Lambs, has won a best picture Oscar. There have been 18 other wins for costuming and makeup for horror titles but films like Midsommer and Hereditary, 2 films that more than deserved to have their female leads get recognized, get snubbed. So there's some representation there, but the genre as a whole deserves far more respect than it gets.

I'm a professional makeup artist and I think she got a solid 7/10. It looks like it would look good in-person, it's just not ideal for being on the red carpet with photography.

There's actually a sort of crotch guard they could be using. It covers the vulva and used in things like body painting.
It stays on well enough for that and body painting can last 8 hours and it's not like they're covered up.

It's even funnier that one of the Oscar writers wrote whatever that intro for the animated feature was that they gave the live action princesses to say, cause I went to the Oscar museum last year and guess what has not only a whole room dedicated to it but also a LIMITED TIME EXHIBIT ABOUT ONE MAN'S IMPACT ON THE INDUSTRY DONE ENTIRELY THROUGH THAT MEDIUM??? ANIMATION, so like how do they still not get it
I want to see them doing a bouncing ball ( animation 101) and not cry in the process of doing any of these movies which usually require SEVERAL people to do, because it's not easy. Ugh probably is the same people that say that comics are just for kids but then there are things like Maus to prove otherwise.

It's like the Oscars are saying "hey remember when we used to have the ANIMATED CHARACTERS present the award? Nah we're ABOVE that now." ugh.
@@danielaardila5081 Dude I wouldn't be able to even draw a good bouncing ball much less animate one lol. For all the amount of time I study and appreciate animation I'd be terrible at it lol. Have you seen the Warrior cat maps on this site? Some of those animators are god tier good. One of my favorite parts to look at is "Do You Love Me?" part 19 by MANCHKIN! and another good part is Cell Block Tango - Part 11 [Warriors] by CheekyTiger. The way they lip sync is incredible, and the use of the fire in the fire scene mmmmmmmmmm. SO GOOD. IT'S SO GOOD.
@@TheRibottoStudios Honestly I thought it was kinda cute ngl, at least in theory. I like quite a few of the live action remakes/reimaginings for what they are, Lily James' Cinderella and Naomi Scott's Aladdin included, though I 100% agree it definitely wasn't a good look having them specifically be the ones saying "oh animation's just something for parents to put on for their kids". That's on the script writer though as they kinda just read what they were told (I sincerely hope they don't actually agree with that sentiment, for their sake and mine)

Personally, while I know Billie has been under pressure before to look prettier and wear “better” clothes and she’s entirely within her right to wear what she wants, my problem is that she didn’t even look comfy in it.
Like I know the full facial photo makes everything look horrible, but I saw her and my first instinct is that she doesn’t wanna be there. And wearing something that looked super uncomfortable at the same time? Girl, you got the money. Make your stylist get you a fashionable AND comfortable outfit or kick them to the curb and hire someone else.

When she was interviewed at the Met, she said she loved the dress because it reminded her of holiday barbie (and she's been saying for years that was her favorite toy as a child), and she was very involved in meetings with the designers while they were making the dress.

Finally a take on Will Smith that actually congratulated him on his first Oscar, like damn... I feel bad for Will, he’s spent decades working for this moment and people are just shitting all over for him and making him out to be some violent animal. Like, it was just a bitch slap that was low-key deserved tbh, get over it. It was also very entertaining. I love rich people fighting for my own amusement.

That was more than just a low brow joke, he deliberately humiliated a woman in front of thousands of people for her hair loss, caused by a chronic illness, and knowing full well the cultural significance of a black woman and her hair. In every way, the “joke” was really gross, and Chris Rock already has a history of demeaning black women for the sake of his “comedy”. I’m sorry, but I really don’t think he should get away with that. Whether Will Smith went about it in the right way or not isn’t really the point. I just think Chris Rock should at the very least formally apologise for what he said, instead of being f*cking praised.
