for all you asking about the yellow app seen at 5:25.. It’s literally the Yellow Pages app 👍
I think you guys are too young to have used it. It’s a business directory.
Edit: also, its model SGH-i717 and it was AT&t Version. This is why it’s missing home button.
I had my pantech pocket back in 2014, and it came pre-installed with that device. I remember when it worked perfectly fine. Now, I find it 9 years later only to get a server error.😢
I also couldn't get into Flipboard, Twitter, or basically anything nowadays. I assume most everything stopped working in around 2017
You just called me old in 659 different extraterrestrial languages 😂
Swear the Yellow Pages logo was different
i actually ussed and to this time still using s memo
i have the GT-N7100 one
We bought a Note 1 in early 2012. It was just mesmerizing. Some features were so good that I still miss them today. The "Live Wallpaper" was great! It was a picture of a beach where that changed according to the actual weather and day/night cycle of your location. Rainy days made your phone come alive. Crayon Physics was also a fun little game as shown. The S-pen was great of course. I stopped actively using the phone in 2017. 5 years! And even after it, I used to get back to it just for fun from time to time. It finally died in 2022. A whole 10 years later. It set the trend for phones in terms of increasing display size. Still cherish it.
RIP 😢
I remember sitting in college class at the time and a guy just straight up took notes on his Galaxy Note like a boss, while the rest of us plebs with shiny iPhones were still slaving a way with pens and paper. Such a weird combination
that man had some skill.. it takes work to get it down on these older ones lol
Ngl, I still like my pen and paper.
Why not the first galaxy S?😋😋😋🔥
yes. the galaxy S is the first smartphone
@@Galaxy.Windows I think your wrong, I'm not an apple fan just to let you know but as I remember the first smartphone was iphone 1, correct me if I'm wrong because after that many companies like Samsung, Nokia and many more followed the trend right after
edit: the iphone 1 isn't the first smartphone or the S1 but according to GPT4 the iphone1 "WAS" first smartphone to have touchscreen which made it really popular back then
@@Revien81 the LG had that too sometime in 2007. the Galaxy S is the first global smartphone
@@Revien81 No, its the Angler its has touchscreen, released in 1992
iPhone 2G and im a Samsung/Apple fan @@Revien81
I still have my Note 1, it's still working, just really slow now.
I have performance degradation just in 2 years after first use, I think the main problem is the emmc.
that's my guy, i love him
Galaxy Note is my favorite lineup of smartphones.
My last one is Galaxy Note 5, it was amazing, I miss my phone
I personally don't prefer the AT&T version of these older phones they kinda look a bit rundown compared to the actual model
Carrier version of phones back in the day were a plague honestly. I'm glad a lot of manufacturers and carries stopped having their own custom versions of phones.
yeah imagine buying a phone at full price just for the carrier to lock it up
@@oussamakhlif3702 Idk how things are in the US but in Europe the phone is unlocked if you buy it at full price from a carrier. It's only locked if you buy it on contract and they will give you the unlock code after the contract payment is finished
@@chickenpasta7359 Ikr. The box looked like a Walmart phone 😭
@oussamakhlif3702 True. Almost like buying a newer iPhone
Oh damn, the S8000 was my first phone as a kid! Still got it laying around somewhere!
I highly recommend testing the... multi-shot/combining shot feature(?)
You'll find it in the scene/effect settings somewhere, it's actually meant to take a photo with a friend, when it's just the two of you. (or just yourself twice)
But can be used for some interesting unintended effects.
Take a selfie and stick your tongue out left and right, while looking in different directions. It combined both halves of my face seamlessly with a conjoined tongue (back in 2009, when I took a photo like that - nwver had a cam with tech that could compare)
Camera is surprisingly impressive
It came out 2011....cameras really haven't changed THAT much
@@megamegaO modern phones have way better dynamic range and optics. in a controlled environment making good looking photos is easy
@@megamegaO trust me they have changed alot especially night photos
@@chickenpasta7359 It's mostly due to software...we've been rocking the same set up for about 5 years now. Yes we DID improve but we peaked long ago without compromising size/price....it's mostly done through software now.
@@Maximus20778 You must be the only person who takes night photos then. I dont know a sane person that would take night shots for any reason.
Back in the day when Hummingbird processor was the thing.
4:09 the nostalgia i got from this game that i used to play on my moms note 1 back in 2013-2014 omg
Back in the days when phones where exciting.
I had the Samsung Note 2, 3 and 4.
Brilliant phablets.
A phone I miss from this time period that I had was the Samsung Galaxy Epic 4g. IT had a slide-out keypad that was just awesome. It was also really big for the time, both screen and it was thiccc. I miss physical keypads.
I love this video bro👍👍
Super cool video. I love the Spen on my S23 Ultra; it's really cool to see its first version.
hey glad you liked it ❤️ yes the S-Pens have come whole long ways.
@@johnzoid74LMAO what is this reply
@@jam06 dude so glad I saw your comment 😆 auto correct wth
@@johnzoid74 fun fact: its fully backwards compatible. You could use the S-Pen from the Galaxy Note 1 on the S24 Ultra and vice versa.
I've had Note 3 for several months in 2017 and it was really great still. Used it as a tablet, since it had problems with cellular.
I remember when one of friend got this phone and I was super jealous. Epic video as always mate
thanks Brockachoo 😎
nice! new video.. love you bro
thanks for watching Sanjana! ❤️
Dude's brutal "Look at all these nostalgic apps.... we got Facebook" GG
I remember back then when i had this phone and ofc i did install the OLDEST firmware for this phone,
brings back memories
I had Note 1 on my job for testing and other operations. It was pretty solid phone for its time, bit lackluster at the later years of its existence.
But I liked it.
My first android device was 3G version of Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet that was pretty much Galaxy S3 stretched to 8 inches with S-Pen added. Kinda interesting thing it was.
0:10 damn that was my first "Smartphone"
It was terrible and had a stupid resistive screen but i loved having my first touchscreen phone back in the day!
Would be cool if you showed that too at some point!
The note 2 was my favorite phone of all time, it replaced my computer. I sparked alot of conversations running 2 apps on the same screen. I rooted it and made the top speaker act like the phone had stereo sound (it didn't, the main sound came from the bottom only your calls came from the top speaker) There was sound mods for the s pen, when you pulled it out you can make it sound like a light Saber 😂. Was an awesome step forward for Sammy.
and i love your video and your channel 🤩🤩🤩
Very interesting, it's definitely nostalgic back in those days Samsung was the hype , I mean it technically still is but that's when as Michael Fisher would say " when phones were fun"
this was the first smartphone i owned... and I remember just how much i used to show off the spen to my iphone-using friends haha!
I just remember those days when I was in grade 8th (2013) I wanted the Samsung note phone at that tile so bad, although there was no way I could afford that nor my family 🥺
I've had the Note 3, 10+, and now S24 Ultra.
Brings back memories. My fling at the time had this. It looks too big for her.
You're basically a clone of a channel I started a few years ago. I guess I need to kick myself in the pants and start uploading again if your channel is doing so well. Looking forward to more content! It's uncanny how similar our channels and thought processes are.
8:19 „but the good thing is“
*ad*
i remember with my Samsung Galaxy tab 4. i tried voice talk or s voice then i told galaxy "whats The weather today" and she responded with the weather forecast.
Looks futuristic and modern because of the size
Another jOhnZoid banger here 🎉
Thanks DJ 😎
I like the S Pen on my Galaxy S24 Ultra. Great for jotting stuff at work.
This was my dream phone back then 😍
I have the galaxy note 9 still good phone had it over 7 years. Only had to replace the battery once. But I paid 1300 for it.still good to this day.
And have original pen.
I was a naysayer when this came out. I ended up getting the Note 3. Stuck with Notes until the Note 20 ultra then got the Z fold 4. 😅😅
I was on the note for like 5 years starting 8, 9, then 10 plus. Love them
I remember when I was a little kid I wanted this phone so bad, especially as it was so big compared to every other phone. Now this phone seems so small, even compared to something like a 6.2 inch iPhone
If you want to try a "good" classic mobile game, you should try The Dark Knight Rises made by Gameloft back in 2012 and I have fond memories of that game from back when I was like 9 years old and after revisiting it a few months ago, it somehow still holds up compared to most mobile games today, plus the combat is somewhat reminiscent of the Arkham franchise.
I’ll never forget my first note phone. It was the Note 3 to be fair but it was INCREDIBLE. The S pen was a plus but just the size of the amoled display and the battery life for its time. It was amazing. It’s crazy that for most people in 2024 a 5.7 inch display is TINY. Now when we talk about acceptable small phones we’re talking 6.2 inches 💀
omg face reveal 5:27
you look like vigilante without a mask from DC peacemaker
My mother had this phone. The s pen absolutely blew our minds lol 😅
I remember when my uncle bought a note 2 and it was the prime technology for me as a kid, like i thought thats it we gonna have flying cars in 5 years .. miss them old days
I still have my Galaxy Note AT&T (SGH-i717) up to this day but the power button from the outer case popped out and did a "Duct tape" fix just enough to do its job 😐
Sad thing to this is the battery life... 🙃
I can’t believe I lived during different eras. Starting from the 90’s. I’ve seen technology advance through out the years. I love 90’s computers and Y2K’s computers and the old flip phones, but for whatever reason the early 2010’s smartphones are the ones that make me cringe. I look back and say: “what the hell is that brick anyways?” It’s crazy how technology has advance so much in just 10 years.
10:17
It's not a starter if it's not all made of diamond blocks
I don't hear dankpods music, but I can hear it in my head.
Bro ! I love your videos , I was just wondering, where do you get your APK’s from , because I have an Samsung Mini (S5570) and it’s running Android Froyo (2.2.1) , I’ve been trying to download apk’s and make it work , but it says that the version needs to be updated, it would mean a lot ❤ I also wanted to say , I love your videos , they’re so cool ❤ , I’d appreciate if you’d tell me !
6:31 me with horrible cursive: I'MA MAKE THE WRITING RECOGNITION SUFFER 😈
5:43 “pick up the groceries” 😭😭😭
Some tips for you: Get a custom rom after you show us the original firmware. There are android 7.1 roms for Note 1. With a custom rom this device will support most of the newer apps and you can easily compare it to other devices you have.
no the phone will be broken

Man I remember getting this and it being stolen a week later. I got a used S3 after a month, but still missed it everyday…
aww I’m sorry to hear that 🫤😔
Try upgrading it to 4.1... more apps will be supported, and it will be nicer, like S3/Note2 🥰🥰🥰🙏🏻
Watching you fail at the Crayon game was hard. The lines were falling because you didn't draw a support structure lol
the ultimate challenge: drawing a triangle
i used to play old-school game too
on blackberry, Symbian, old rip-off Chinese phone from 2008😂
so fun
I had the first galaxy S, it was the captivate model, I remember thinking it was really fast
bought one of this for super cheap during 2019 to practice digital drawing and i used the heck out of it until it broke and bootlooped itself a few years back. Despite the old software and all its still usable, i didnt install custom os or anything just disable tons of apps at the settings and install the old versions of ibispaintx, and thanks to the training i am now doing digital drawing and seeing this feels like a nostalgic trip
damn, what device do you use now? Notes or iPads?
i just got a used samsung tab A 2016 since i didnt really profit from this art hobby, i would like to try ipads but here where i live they are stinky expensive and i've accustomed to drawing using tiny s pens
Tey the s6 sports, its really rare and rugged before rugged phones were made.
What about taking a look at the Note 4 at some point? Its gonna be 10 years old this year
I remember note 1 having an home button in the middle :D
yes there’s that one too 😎
I've always been a fan of the Note. I've got my 3 neo after my uncle's 3 (who has the og 1)
I upgraded to the mighty 9 (imho the most complete and stylish android EVER) and my mom just got the s24Ultra
I really hope to get a 24u too or even the 25 next year
Long live the S-Pen ✒️❤❤❤
Interestingly enough I've also gotten the Note 9 again a month ago (!) And it's just fabulous. Running on the original firmware though and honestly I'll leave it there. The animations and everything else just feels significantly better than the one UI on my S9+. They run all smoothly though nonetheless. Although being a Exynos chip, there weren't any hiccups ever even once and the S9 is at full storage too. Great devices that just work.
I might also add that I've been using the S9+ since practically launch daily for a quarter of the day using its speakers and they're still working and are quite bassy. I'm impressed in what Samsung has done with these devices for them to last this many years with like 7-9 hours of CZcams consumption daily. These devices are built different, quite literally. With the newer devices I've read a ton of display issues and the lack of features like iris scanner and most interesting the fingerprint scanner+sensor. The 9 series have a literal heartbeat sensor in the back which I never knew until recently, it blew me away knowing that.
I just recently started using my note 4 again and I missed it so much 😂
I loved the Note 4 too.. stay tuned i think I’m just gonna hit all the Note series with a video 😂
@@johnzoid74 yessssssssss
3:53 no one's gon mention the bottom right? Lol
the Yellow Pages app? what about it
Note devices were always a big phone. Even when the display was 5". The fact that 3.5 was the average for quite a few years. Or that we used to only call or text. Or just call.
3.5 average is insane lol. They were so small
Bro playing on note 3 is so smooth i played on it minecraft and roblox yes they were smooth even tho its the first samsung phone with 4k recording (sadly mojang unsupports note 3 now )
i remember this was the shit dude
my math teacher actually bought one and write my class's group names on it
and clash of clans was at its peak at that time so he invited any students that play clash of clans to join his clan
i was rocking sony xperia ray ST18i at that time
it. was. cool.
Why can't my maths class be this exciting
I wish my math teacher was that cool 😔
Can you do video for first ever android phone and compare w iphone2G
playing newly released gta 3-vice city-sa trilogy or max payne on this thing was amazing back in 2012 on its new amoled screen.next best closest thing was psp go and it wasnt even a phone.you just had to be there...
I know it's not an old phone but I would love to see you make a video on my phone: Samsung Galaxy AO3s
Are you able to upgrade it to 4.0 or 4.1?
At that time I had the galaxy S blaze 4G that still works the ui looks similar to this note 1
I have an Galaxy S3 with that same 8 megapixel camera and takes reasonable good pictures
gotta love the S3
@@johnzoid74 Unfortunately it runs very slow and stutter's. I asked someone to change the operating system from Jelly Bean to Android 13 from lineage OS but is runs the same and i cannot download Google Services
Try the galaxy s2 captivate glide if you can find One
You can't get brand new one from ibay because it's been several years since Samsung discontinued making the note. You have to contact Samsung if you're going find a unopened one.
My first samsung phone with Android Froyo (or gingerbread), my friends laugh at my face because I'm doing a call with a tablet 😅 (they think it's a tablet). And then a few years later I laugh back to their face, almost all phone in that year use 5.5"+ screen. 😂...
try first ever android phone too pls (i believe its an htc or smth)
Curious if you use any of these ancient devices. I bought a Note 5 last month for literally 30 dollars (it was an auction) and a Gear VR for just 3 dollars at a Goodwill but I don't know what to use it for
check out my last video- you might end up figuring it out and having some fun 🤩
try to custom rom it, its even possible to run android 9 on it, try to custom rom it and make a video for us!
Pls do galaxy Alpha
My mom used to have this phone before, she replaced it with an iPhone 6 Plus, and then after that, the Galaxy Note 9
im not using samsung anymore...but the thing is samsung are so easy to update firmware even auto update or manually update usng odin...but the at&t version are very good version but doesnt release for globally like note 1 with home button...i was wondering why this version doesnt have release globally like 4g version? its a good for use long lasting because 4g connection
Let's put into perspective. This device has 16Gb of storage, while using Android 2.
This is like having an 1TB device today.
Most of the entry level devices from the year this released had 500mb or 1GB of storage at best.
Man I miss having a short, wide screen. Reach the whole thing with your thumb with enough width to read a page without constantly scrolling.
yeah these were PHHHAT
Galaxy S2 review please?
It's not very related to the video but I ran Minecraft at 5 fps on an lg optimus l5 that i got for free and when will you do what i said(buy a cheap phone from an ebay auction for like 5 dollars)?
Early edit: opera mini worked super good for me and i download apps from mobyware mostly and you can find other apps from other sites directly from the phone
Wow awesome
I still have the Note II
Got mine in 2012.. Phone was a beast but was so heavy it pulled my pants down when I walked 😂
Phones now are so big my small hands can barely handle them. They are also to hard to fit in my pockets.
I love the Minecraft Pocket edition before they were cross configuring Minecraft with Microsoft 😅
Today I went to the shop and bought some food :)
