Crashes when importing FLAC files (at least the free version does, I’m not sure about the studio version). At least it has a feature where it tries to save your project after crashing, so that’s nice.
It’s great to see such a solid community build up around this, especially with so many competitors around that each can have their own dedicated group willing to speed run it. I occasionally dabble in the After Effects Any % Crash category, so it was really cool seeing how different the meta has evolved for Vegas compared to it :)
I literally have to rename the ErrorReportClient executable in the Program Files to circumvent some of the bogus crash reasons. It's relatively effective!

Lmao I saw Vegas appear in many of your vids thinking it was just for the memeness of it, doubting you would actually be using it :D I used vegas (Sony Vegas in fact!) around 2008-2014. It was never rock-solid stable, but once it was sold off by Sony, the unstability started to get exponentially worse. I loved the workflow of Vegas and never really got accustomed to another app. RIP.

This is why I chose Premiere Pro over Vegas a while back till I got sick of the subscription model. I've got an idea for a tough challenge, see how long one can use Vegas Pro WITHOUT it crashing. The user must be using the program constantly with no more downtime than about 5-10 seconds to see just how far they can get before it dies.
TBT, Adobe Premiere Pro isn't much better and I doubt either major program will be fixed without better competition.

In my experience, no NLE has ever been super stable (except maybe Movie Maker 2011, but even that had the tendency to sometimes freeze when importing media). This is why I press Ctrl+S every two edits 😀
that's a good habit to have. make sure if you have autosave turned on and use proper versioning if the edit goes on longer (autosave once a minute and then make a new file every 10 minutes)
It's really unfortunate that Vegas likes to crash so much, because I honestly really like the workflow the software offers. It's (relatively) simple to use, yet offers advanced editing features, commonly found in programs like Premire Pro...
And no, I'm not going back to whatever dumbsterfire Magix is producing (although, nowdays I guess Vegas = Magix), 'cause their software is like a childs toy in comparison. There's a reason I stuck to Vegas 13 and never upgraded beyond that. Sony, you did such a good job, why did you have to sell it ;-;
