personally, I think silver is the result of a mixture between shadows and sonics bloodlines, think about it, if shadow had a child with someone, and sonamy had a child, and the children got together and had a child, it wouldn't be to far fetched to say that the child could be silver
I like it! My own theory is that Shadow and Shade the Echidna have children, and if Amy's clairvoyance was passed down with Sonic in your theory, it would merge with Shade's teleportation and own PK abilities. Silver would inherit both Sonic and Shadow's chaos control and super forms too.
Best part? It doesn't violate the time travel laws which would erase Silver from existence when Mephiles kills Sonic because Shadow and Shade's offspring could still go on to create Silver! That time travel thing was the biggest problem I had with Scourge's theory.

Theory: Silver was actually grown in someone's backyard, and was green, but one day a serum (cookies, spice, needles, mice, teenager, no uses, bleach, chemical TK, etc.) spilled on him and evolved into a Mobian weed-hog. Blaze befriends him just so she can use her fire powers to smoke his hair while he's asleep.

It depends. I believe in some areas they are canon. Of course Sega has to approve of Archie's canon obviously. And their stories are alot more organized and cohesive than the sloppy videogame canon

In fact, He seems to be pretty fast.
In 06, He's seen to be faster than TAILS, Who keeps up with sonic on a daily basis.
He literally RACES against sonic MULTIPLE times, Sometimes winning, In Rivals.
He also raced in the 3ds version of Sonic Generations.
The only reason people actually think he is slow...
Is because in 06, A few characters are faster than him.

I don't really agree with either theory although I'm more inclined to lean towards the scourge theory. You can't really base your research on the Archie comics cannon because Shadow and Blaze making a connection there or inter-species breeding being possible doesn't really apply to the main cannon of the games. Also referencing Dragon Ball Z kind of makes your retort about Silver disappearing with Sonic's death less powerful seeing that in Dragon Ball Z a character interfering with the past creates an alternate timeline rather than a paradox. So if you are going to use Dragon Ball than you should probably accept that Silver changing the past wouldn't alter his future or cause him to pull a Marty Mcfly and disappear on us.

What people tend to overlook is that Sonic can control the wind to an extent.
You could say SIlver's telekineses is actually him using telekinetic wind, and using telekinesis on whateve's caught in his wind.

even if the comics are based off of the games and are approved by Sega that doesn't technically make them Cannon since Sega or Sonic team did not make them. it's kind of like saying that the creator of the Dragon Ball series approves of Dragon Ball AF or Dragonball Absalon yeah he approved of them but they're not canon.

I think both theories are well thought out and very believable, and they both have their own strengths and weaknesses. As a personal preference, I'd have to go with the first theory, not because I think it's more or less believable, but simply because I personally like that theory better. It would be nice to see that worked into the main cannon.

In Scourge's theory, he has overlooked the time travel laws that he uses to explain Silver's "temporal disassociation". Sonic is killed by Mephiles, which would mean Silver ceases to exist. Silver can't disassociate from his own timeline until after he changes the future, and his ceasing to exist wouldn't change anything with a butterfly effect. His timeline would play out the same without him in it.
As for your theory, you sir, have forgotten Blaze's age, Silver's biology and his memories.
1) surely he will remember his own mother and his parents are both stated as "deceased" which wouldn't be possible if Blaze is his closest companion.
2) if Silver is of feline descent, it stands to reason he would have at least one catlike physical trait (whiskers, claws, a long tail etc) but nope, he's pure hedgehog.
3) Blaze and Silver are both 14 years old. In the unlikely event that she ages exponentially different due to her home universe, it is even less likely that she will mother a child who ages 14 years without her aging one.
You both raised excellent points and I think Shadow could possibly be the father despite the creator's statement to the contrary because I've found holes in Sega's continuity before (ie Scourge's video on Sega's broken moon theory not being scientifically possible due to gravity's behaviour). Also when Elise says "nobody will remember the Solaris incident after the flames are extinguished" yet its eventually revealed that Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Blaze remember. So yeah, I'm not too worried by what the staff of Sega are saying lol

Amy's connection with Silver is a good point Scourge made as well, but I'll admit I'm biased due to my own theory:.......
Shadow + Shade from the Dark Brotherhood
Hedgehogs and Echidnas are biologically far similar than cats and hedgehogs. They're of the same family tree. Shade also shares the teleportation ability and its plausible the Nocturnis clan was experimenting with ESP or PK on its people. She also doesn't appear to age from her time in the Twilight Cage (listed as 4000 years old) which would give her and Shadow similar immortality.
Shadow, Shade and Silver are all colours ranging in the "black and white" spectrum which is also interesting (though admittedly, a pretty weak argument on its own. I just thought it was noteworthy). I believe that it's most likely Shadow and Shade are ancestors of Silver and it works well as them being parents OR distant ancestors due to their immortality.

I mean no offence but until the creator changes his mind or messes up in a way that approves your theory about something you have to take it for what it is. Who knows maybe 10 years from now they will be together somehow but until then I'm perfectly happy thinking he's an orphan.
Also about 06 being non canon the characters do indeed remember the events of the game as this quote from Sonic Generations proves.
"I thought I would never be in Crisis City again" after clearing "Blaze: Piercing the Flames'.Meaning Blaze does indeed remember meaning everyone else more than likely does too.Giving an explanation as to why Shadow would talk to Silver and why Silver would talk to Blaze.
This last point may be a weak one but here it is,wasn't shadow trapped for 200 years by omega? I may be wrong about that because honestly time travel confuses me.

My theory is that Sonic and Amy are Silver’s parents, and I know what you’re thinking: “how come Silver has psychokinesis rather than super speed?” Well I think that Sonic and Amy’s abilities (super sonic speed and ESP-like powers) combine to create psychokinesis, also taking into consideration that Silver has gotten faster over time, and I think that someone, who had the ability to time travel, took Silver into the future as an infant and raised him to defend the world from Iblis, also I think that Sonic and Amy’s relationship has improved over time, originally Amy was a creepy stalker who made Sonic uncomfortable, but now, even though she’s still obsessed with him, Sonic is shown to be more comfortable around her, implying that Amy has realised how clingy she was, so it wouldn’t be far-fetched that Sonic and Amy would become a couple and have a kid.
Back to the original point, I think some of u would ask how Silver would get white fur and yellow eyes from parents with blue and pink fur and green eyes, maybe it was just a result of a genetic mutation, or maybe Silver has a twin sibling who has purple fur and blue eyes (because Sonic and Amy both have green eyes and silver has yellow, and the fact that blue and yellow combined makes green and u probably understand where I’m going with this) and who inherited the most traits from Sonic and Amy (particularly, maybe Sonic’s speed) and Silver was left with own traits
Personally, I favor Scourage's account more. I like how he doesn't say that Sonic and Amy are Silver's parents and how he tapped into Amy's psych intuition. XD

The Black Knight thing is dumb. They are separate characters from another world. Silver's parents are probably just 2 random people. Also, Silver and Blaze are the same age. I sincerely doubt that Silver is in anyway related to a main series character.

Possible Answer : Shadow had a one night stand with a random character.
I do believe Silver is Shadow's direct son.
It's quite possible that Blaze could be the mother actually. But I think the mother is a character we haven't and will never see. I think it's better if we never get to see his mother and focus on Shadow and Silver. As a concept Shadow being a father is very jarring. But come 50 years down the line he will mellow out and eventually become friends with Sonic assuming everything doesn't go to hell before then. I think seeing everyone he's ever known and care about die around him slowly would drive Shadow to either A. Kill himself. B. Become the reason the future is destroyed. Or C. He'll just be on the Ark in solitude.
I like to assume B is the most practical answer since I can't see Shadow killing himself. So assuming he wrecks the world he'll eventually either be stopped and won't be able to fight anymore or he'll eventually come to realize his mistakes and go off into hiding. For the sake of making things more believable I'll say it's a bit of both. He gets his ass kicked and can still fight but he comes to realize his mistakes and goes into hiding. He'll eventually find a spouse and they have Silver. I assume the mom dies at birth leaving Shadow in a more crippled state then before. So he would give Silver away and go into hiding so that he doesn't have to see anymore death or drama.
This is just something I thought of on the spot. So It's probably not very good if you're looking for detailed reasoning. But it's a possibility if you open your mind to it.
Scourge says Amy's the mom and Gamerguyd says Shadow's the father.

""Sega Comics"" and "" Sega Games"" says: Silver is the adopted brother of Queen Blaze in her dimension ... from blazes future.. Silver is not from sonic & shadows dimension at all... So thats not possible.. Silver was an orphan from the future who befriended blaze when they were children and became her sibling.... So he's prince Silver... on relation.. more so Silver would be a half-Cousin or nephew to Sonic more so than a grandson/descendant.. due to Eggman destroying the time stream destroying Sonic's Wife: Queen Sally and Sonic's 2 kids: Sonia the chipmunk. Jr. and Manic the hedgehog Jr....due to this Silver was never born.... at least not directly..... because he was born in blaze's dimension...therefore Eggman destroying the timeline and creating a new alternate versions of sonic. Sega is to blame. . Sega always changes Sonic's biography and family ties..and Sega uses Eggman as a excuse or scape goat for changing all of Sonic's stories without thinking of the fans..... So to answer your question Silver would be a relative of the old 2006 sonic that doesn't exist anymore.. not the 2014 sonic... hope the fans aren't disappointed..

Well from what I heard so far, GamerGuyd's theory sounded like it made more sense. And would be super awesome if Shadow and Blaze were Silver's parents. But again like everyone knows, this is just a theory...a rather cool theory though. ;D
I know it's not linked to the video, but I think I have pieced together the, I guess you could call it, the "Shadow Timeline".
In Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow is the original Shadow, the ultimate life form. Before he died, he was cloned twice. In Sonic Heroes, one of those clones was set free by Rouge, and the clone from Shadow the Hedgehog (The game, not the hedgehog himself) was set free after Maria was killed. The same clone then continues 'till this day. Apart from Shadow from Sonic Boom, that game just makes no sense.
Personally I don't think Silver has any blood connection to the present Sonic cast but I've got to admit both theories are really damn good and bring in ideas I didn't even think about like Amy's tarot cards Honestly I can't deceide

Never watched either of you're videos before this, but Scourge has the more believable theory. GG's relied way too heavily on DBZ and possibilities, while Scourge's was much more straightforward and didn't focus as much on what-ifs. (Though I do believe Shadow and Blaze could have a relationship without Silver in the picture) Also, quick hole in GG's: We can assume Silver's home is Crisis City. I mean, why would he always be flying around in a ransom desolate city when he could be continuing his aid to the future and past? You could say it's because of Iblis, but how exactly would he know Iblis was in this random city? So, if Crisis City is his home, how would he get there, as it can also be assumed that this is in the same dimension of Sonic, and not in Blaze's dimension?
I call this debate to a Tie! Both theories are interesting and I’m team GamerScourage (meaning you 2 are both awesome theorists!)

Even though and it's been confirmed the Silver is not related to Shadow it was an interesting Theory and I did enjoy it.
i don't believe blaze is silver's mother no way it would be so strange and yet weird when silver sees blaze you see him blushing when she's around making we all know what that means but yes that is all true shadow and blaze being independent and also loners but I just don't see it happening now shadow and Amy that's a different story than everyone believes shadow and Amy make quite the pair true Amy chase's after sonic alot throughout the years but still I believe that shadow and amy are silver's mother and father just like Vegeta and Bulma are trunks parents even if they both are from the future just think about it is all im asking ik how it sounds but just at least take the time and think about it ppl and while this is still a theory it's also what I believe and also my opinion of what I think is and will always be true at least in my eyes it will be

Either that or Silver is the descendant of Sonic, Amy, Shadow, and Blaze. Silver was born 200 years into the future and is a 100% hedgehog so his parents could be some hedgehog couple both descended from the generation of hedgehog couples (one of them could be the sibling of a cat or a hedgecat in Blaze's case). If Shadow and Blaze have children (it could be a hedgehog, cat, and hedgecat), then the hedgehog child could marry another hedgehog (child of SonAmy) which would lead up to having all hedgehog children (no more than one species or any mixed species). Or else the further generations of the hedgehog family (SonAmy and Shadow X Blaze) could end up marrying each other families or some another hedgehog. This is my theory ladies and gentlemen.

I now feel happy, I ship Shadaze. Shadaze will always last forever, even though in my own Sonic universe, Knuckles and Rouge are Silver's great grandparents.
You know the Grandfather Paradox wouldn't have effected Silver right? If Silver is the Trunks of the Sonic universe, then that means he comes from a completely different timeline. Thus changing one worlds timeline wouldn't effect his. So killing Sonic wouldn't have erased him from the timeline.
Shadow X Blaze, I ship it. As an avid player of the games and reader of the comics I completely agree, the comics have much more depth than the games not to mention all the characters have a lot more development.

To be honest, I'm more for Sega Scourge's theory. I think Amy could've likely ended up with Sonic or whoever, and Shadow could've ended up with one of their children or grandchildren... Talk about robbing the cradle though.
Or to be extra weird, why not both? If we went with the time theory of Blaze's universe, she could've ended up with Amy's kid, which in turn ended up with Shadow.

I would like a story where Sonic didn't save a family during one mission and left him devastated and died with Shadow trying to fight Iblis or whoever, and then in the future, the young boy who died that day with his family is later reincarnated into Silver the Hedgehog.
after watching this video both here and on scourges channel I find both theory's equally logical and possible but personally from my knowledge of psychology and sociology, the pairing of Shadow and Blaze makes a lot of sense given the similar personality types, both of which are obviously independent but using the MBTI system it is incredibly debatable and I hold of on using that system for blaze and shadow as I don't remember blaze all to well but I do think they are both use introverted and judging but I would debate perceiving and the other two functions are what are throwing me through a loop, but even if they are completely different a relationship could still function and on the other hand the chemistry between Sonic and Amy could work out if expanded upon given that the "Sonamy" theory make's more sense factually and biologically(keep in mind this may just be a useless factor as we don't know if this matters in this universe or not) and also the conformation from Takashi. But just because he said "no" doesn't mean that he was either telling the truth or simply hasn't put as much thought into it as we have however unlikely that may be and also who's to say his answer may change or if its cannon? And personally the Sonamy theory is to simplistic and seems to be more probable but it relied a bit to much on deductive and inductive reasoning in scourges theory while the shadow and blaze theory used some abduction and keen observation which is always the best way to get reliable results is to always observe and not just make up stories and assumptions but in conclusion the shadow and blaze theory makes more sense and is more pleasing. maybe because it was never one that I thought possible
Thanks Craig for agreeing ! Blaze is just my favorite female Sonic character so I did extensive research on her and found out that she and Shadow are so similar that they were actually supposed to be 1 character (Prototype Blaze).

I would like to disagree with you GameGuy. If, Blaze is Silver's mother, then why doesn't she look old? Why don't they show any mother and son moments? There is are no facts to prove your statement and there is no way that they could. Blaze doesn't even appear to be Shadows type. Once there is a scene where Blaze and Shadow flirt or something. Then I will say you're right, but for now your statement appears, and is, false.
