This is a great idea for the holiday season!
Favorite spell: wingardium leviosa has become such a classic over the years, it’s hard not to choose it. I love how that spell is the center of the trio’s evolution into friendship. It starts as a know-it-all comment from Hermione and ends up saving them all from the troll in the bathroom.
Character: Molly Weasley. The older I get the more I adore her maternal role. It makes me emotional looking back on the scene at platform 9 3/4 where she saw a young child, alone, obviously confused and looking for the Hogwarts express, and took him under her wing.
Moment: Harry and Ron spending the Christmas break together. Just Harry having a Christmas, and then spending it with his first ever friend, it’s very sweet and I think an important part of their friendship.
Dumbledore quote: It has to be his words before the start of school feast, doesn’t it?
Foreshadowing: perhaps this is too blatant, but the end of the novel when Dumbledore tells Harry about the protective magic he has because of his mother’s sacrifice. At the time, I took this at surface level, as we didn’t know about all the horcrux business. It developed as the story went on, and I loved seeing Lily’s death gather more meaning as the books continued.

Hey I would love to see a video, or maybe even a few, about how you read. I know it's rather broad but I think someone in the thick of exploring new books and as I have it, even studying this?, your perspective on the work to be done during reading, like what you did / learned alongside reading Ulysses, would be really cool to see! God knows the amount of books I've simply 'read' and got nothing from hahaha

Thank you for this lovely holiday inspiration!
I just finished Philosopher's Stone and here are my answers...
    Favourite spell: Wingardium Leviosa
    Favourite character: Fred and George
Favourite moment: When Neville stands up to Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Favourite Dumbledore quote: "...the trouble is, humans do have a knack of choosing precisely those things which are worst for them."
Favourite bit of foreshadowing: Hagrid mentioning that there are dragons guarding the high security vaults at Gringotts, and also Dumbledore's twice-broken nose.
    Can't wait for the rest!

    JK Rowling should watch this!
I'm so looking forward to every video in this series.
I agree with you that the Harry Potter series bring comfort to an entire generation. Whenever I need a book that will bring me joy and nostalgia, the Harry Potter series is the best choice.

I love HP. But for 2019 I would love a review from any Roberto Bolaño's book

Ryan, have you checked out Stripped Cover Lit's "Adrian reads Hary Potter"? Since you're doing this is worth checking out. He has a very different opinion on Harry Potter than most people I've come across.

This is really tough, but here we go:
    1) Favorite Spell: probably Petrificus Totalus too. When I saw that scene on film I think I might have actually had an orgasm. Other than that, Wingardium Leviosa.
    2) Favorite Character: probably a tie between Hagrid and Dumbledore.
    3) Favorite Moment: the introduction to Hogwarts. Everything from the quirky descriptions of the school to the school song.
    4) Favorite Dumbledore Quote: his ridiculous speech before the feast. Cracks me up no matter what.
    5) Moment of Foreshadowing: I don’t know if it counts as foreshadowing, but I like how Neville develops from being a wuss into becoming braver and standing up for himself.
