    Steam deck is the greatest invention of Valve so far..

    How are your button prompts so clear? Mine are a chunky, blurry mess, and in-game dialog bubbles and interact prompts are the same, completely illegible. I've tinkered with it for 30 mins and can't figure out a setting to fix it.

      Have you got “half rate shading” on? If you do, turn it off

    How you liking it on the steam deck? You reckon it feels good enough playing it that you’d recommend it?

      So far I like it. Judging by the first hours of the game, I can say I liked Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous more (not necessarily the same gameplay) but that is only my personal taste. The game runs well on Steam Deck, with some moments here and there where the FPS dropped to ~27 (to be fair, I play it on Medium-High settings).

    I just got this game and I have been playing it on my PC. I’ll have to give it a go on my steam deck just for shits and giggles.
    Cool video 👍

    Any plans to upgrade to SD OLED?

    • @RadrielS
      @RadrielS  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I am trying to do it, but being short on money I need to sell my LCD SD first, then I'll buy the OLED one. Unfortunately, I can't find someone who is willing to buy a second-hand LCD Steam Deck.

      @@RadrielS Well, best of luck. I made the upgrade, sold my old one to my daughter (she loves Baldur's Gate 3). Wish Steam had a better family plan, wow it stinks. I will say, honestly, it is better -- but it's also not a 'game changer' kind of like the upgrade from a Switch to Switch OLED. So don't get too down in the dumps if you're having FOM or anything. Even if you skip it and wait a couple years for Steam Deck II, you really should be fine

      @@patron7906 that would be the plan for now, to wait for SD2

      @@RadrielS Best of luck. Hey, one piece of advice on your channel: You might want to make seperate ones, to cater to your differing interests. I say this, while I am okay with Batman and such -- I would not sub to that kind of content channel. However, someone just doing plays on a Steam Deck, I might. Likewise, people super into some of your other stuff might not be interested in Steam Deck stuff.

    What proton version are you using? Would love to get that power draw to below 20w

    • @RadrielS
      @RadrielS  Před 8 měsíci

      I have used the current version of Proton Experimental, after the recording ended I tried Proton 8 and didn't a significant difference. What isn't in the video is the in-game FSR option which slightly reduces battery consumption on performance with locked FPS, but the graphics take a hit there.

      set graphics to low, and on deck settings set to 30fps - gives me 12w

  • @PastelKenshi
    @PastelKenshi Před 8 měsíci

    This was a torture to watch, you tried touch screen but not the trackpads !!!! How smart is that, not to mention the tweaking of settings was off, the video at least needed some editing

    • @RadrielS
      @RadrielS  Před 8 měsíci +3

      My intention was not to record the gameplay itself, but rather the game's behavior on Steam Deck. I was fooling around for the most part; I tried the touch screen there since most of the games that support both KB&M and gamepads, make the switch from one to another seamlessly on the Steam Deck, this one did not (e.g. I left out the character's name part but there I had troubles using the SD's keyboard because of this). The trackpads wouldn't have had any impact here since I was using the Gamepad Layout, where the trackpads are not set. And what do you mean with the tweaking of settings being off?

      @@lufasumafalu5069 bruh you must've hated the psp/vita/ds/3ds cause that's what this is to the pc space. a portable pc that can "run" most games at low to medium graphics and before you mention rog ally or legion go don't forget that.
      1. they came out over a year later
      2. have a way worse battery life than the deck due to higher resolutions and higher refresh speeds which is detrimental to the whole portable experience. (and lets be honest most people don't try to limit themselves when playing on them, whereas the steam deck actively endorses it with all its settings. aka. ease and choice)
      3.the above would have never happened if valve never pushed into the space
      4.cheaper in country's where it is officially sold (granted i am not and it cost the same for me to buy as the the others)
      now im not saying the rog ally or go are bad, in fact i enjoy them for different reasons(well the go at least) but i cant recommend them as a play on the go portable device for gaming unless you want to keep it plugged into charger 80% of the time, now as portable device that i want to plug into a tv then yes they are far better and steam deck cant even get close
