A non NFL pro football league should strive to be like minor league baseball, where you have guys that aren’t able to make the big league but still talented enough to play pro at a lower level and be able co exist with the more talented league. Minor league baseball has its niche and it does well. Football should do the same. There a obviously a market for it

6 years is a long time. If he’s smart, he’ll expand on that business opportunity he started with NIL licensing.

No doubt. Between the knee issues and now shoulder, King has already been involved in those NIL ventures. He seems like a great person and will be very successful!
King was never bad, dude was just hurt by too many injuries, saddening to know he’s gonna be a what-if when his college career is over
Man, this sucks. Im an OU fan and remember being scared when we went up against this dude. I really thought by now he would be at a clemson, or LSU, or Georgia or Ohio state. Breaks my heart because I know this dude is a dude.

King is a solid dude and I'm sad that he couldn't stay healthy. Hopefully he finds a spot at the next level, but if he doesn't, I hope that Miami has a spot in the coaches' box for him. Guy is a born leader, and a good young mind.

I always thought him leaving Houston was a huge mistake. The grass in NOT always greener on the other side.

A lot of revisionist history in the recruiting perspectives of Trask and King imo. Nobody at the P5 level wanted Trask outside of Doug Nussmeir specifically because he had no film bc King was the obvious recruiting talent on that team all year, and for years to come, until Frank’s got hurt.
D'Eriq King will be great in the NFL someday. It's also so crazy how Kyle Trask had one major offer. Glad he got his chance to shine.

Trask wasn’t offered a ton of scholarships. In fact literally only Florida offered him one after he attended a camp of theirs.
I hate to say, it but honestly D'Eriq may not make it to the NFL. He's already old for a rookie and with how he's played so far, I doubt he's a highly touted prospect.
dude really should've declared last year and cashed in on a 3rd-4th round 300k-3M deal. Because best case scenario now he gets signed to a QB needy team as a UDFA and dogs it out for a spot on the final roster.

His mistake was transferring from Houston. If he wanted out after Applewhite then he should have just declared. Instead he went to a Miami team that was not prepared to support him. His raw athleticism shined under the Houston offensive system that was used to his skilled set after he stepped in for Greg Ward Jr. Holgorsen has now turned the program back around after his departure with Clayton Tune, a name no one thought could hold a candle to King. It’s really too bad since I got to watch him shine at UH. Hope he manages to salvage his career.
His biggest mistake was leaving UH for Miami. No loyalty especially when the going gets tough.

I think he will be in NFL as a back-up Qb. If hes undrafted and becomes a walk on give him a chance to chose the right scheme to go with his skills. Might be best thing to happen compared to going to a team thats not aligned with your skills.

Imagine if he redshirted in 2019, then played in 2020 at Houston, and then got another year to play right now due to covid. Houston would be undefeated and a premier group of 5 contender right now.
You might not know exactly how College works but he could still come back for another year they medical Redshirt him which I heard is what they're going to be doing so he'd be eligible for another year if he wants it that's going to be up to him ultimately

The problem with Miami is our AD, President, Coach. Regardless of how this season finishes there needs to be changes made in all three areas in order to be successful at a high level again. If its just Manny who is fired...Blake James will be in charge of the next coaching search and we will be right back here in another three years...all starts with the AD who doesn't care about the football program at all.

D'Eriq King is lacking the proper coaching. Furthermore, it leads to another issue.
It comes down to a program willing to pay $$$$$$, as in real money to get a REAL coach. The administration checked out a long time ago. Athletic Director Blake James has been criticized for years. Alumni are making their voices known, but the powers that be are not willing to execute.
Players are the one who are hurting the most. They are not reaching their full potential due to incompetence. Fans are letting the world know that Head Coach Manny Diaz needs to be fired, but no word...
I mean Jalen Hurts is a starter... that means any running Qb has a shot.

I think King will remain a Patriots player. Belichick has never signed a black player from a draft, King is the first. I don't think he made the decision lightly. If King can look good in the preseason he can be a sifnificant trade piece. So, unfortunately, your prognostication has failed to come true.
