  • Join Ferrari ace Sam Hancock as he flies to pole at the Monza historic in this stunning Ferrari 512 BBLM. The session started out wet, but on the drying track Sam waited to the last minute to post a time that for a moment was the fastest of all. In the end he settled for third overall but pole in class, well clear of several other BBLMs in the field. Watch as this amazing camera angle allows you to see not only his work at the wheel, but also his footwork as he dances his way round Monza. #gwflatout #MonzaHistoric

What do you mean? His downshifts were terrible. No synchronisation at all, either he was giving more gas or not enough for the rev matches. It didn't felt smooth. The car was like aaah-uhhhhh or uhhhh-aaaahhh all the time.

Very good driver "from the past" with real downshifts, not just a "push-gaz" between up gear and down gear, but really IN TWO TIMES (look at the left leg... 😉👍). To show at all the new generation's drivers with modern gearbox...❗😂🤣
From France with "old" sport's-cars passion... 🇫🇷🤓❗

    • @1983dmd

If you look closely, he pushes the clutch, bring it to neutral with the shifter, revs the gas and then downshifts with the shifter, all while keeping the clutch depressed . So he just depresses the clutch once for every downshift......Play it in slowmotion and you will see. If you look closely again, when you see him depress the clutch very fast twice while revving it, he downshifts 2 gears !!! Like at 3:52 ....This transmission probably has synchros so there is no need to do a real double clutch when downshifting.

@@1983dmd Hello, with or without synchros, lots of drivers don't "double push" for hells&toes...(Hewland gearboxes (shifters) move to short to make it correctly for example...). But, with big/not fast gearboxes like on this car, you can make real hells&toes from A to Z for downshifts...😉‼️💯🛢️🔥🏁🏎️🤓🇫🇷
