UPDATE: From Gothic/Crested Butte, the hike has a 4000ft elevation gain (reaching 13000ft at one point after starting about 9k in Gothic) and dipping down 1000ft again when you reach Conundrum Hot Springs to make it 3000ft above Gothic.
- From a helpful guy who watched the video and did the hike.
CORRECTION: Metal Sculptor Sean Guerrero himself wrote in (so cool!) to clarify that the knight/dragon representation is actually OPPOSITE than what I cited at the end of the video. The knight represents the little guy and the dragon is "The Man" aka the corporate entity.

Conundrum Hot Springs is awesome! A friend and I hiked up front the wrong side / long side (Maroon Bells) for the Bicentennial on July 4, 1976. Spent two lazy days recuperating after killing ourselves getting there. Peace!!
Awesome Video Karen, I Love Colorado hiking and a hot spring along the trail is definitely a bonus, relax those sore muscles, Happy Travels.
This is fantastic! Loved watching this and made me want go get out in nature. Well done ladies!
Amazing hike! You girls motivate me to get outdoors more! Keep living life to its fullest ❤️
OMG just gorgeous the rainbow as well at the end was epic beauty!!! 🌈
wow this place is so beautiful! I will definitely stop by next time I am in Colorado! Thanks for sharing!
I love this channel, before I was shy about posting but this channel has inspired me to post my own content and get out in nature more.❤️✝️
Looks fantastic, I will travel from Arizona and do some hiking around crested butte. Thanks!!! Just realized this was 3 years ago, but doesn't make it any less fantastic...
Best of luck with the hikes! You can't beat the views up there.
Amazing video and brought back so many memories. I hiked there last summer with my boyfriend and it was our first hike. Beautiful sceneries.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and it brought back good memories! I love remembering this trip with my friends. It's amazing how beautiful Colorado is.
Awesome vid! Nice hiking like all the green trees, and the hot springs are great. :) thumbs up!
*Another great film! Beautiful footage and scenery! Nice colours! Thanks for sharing ! like Natalya*
Sweet! I did that hike up to Triangle Pass with my bro and a friend, but didn't go all the way to Conundrum Hot Springs because I was totally altitude sick! It was quite a contrast being sick, but still loving life because it is so incredibly gorgeous up there!
That's great that you got to Triangle Pass! I have total empathy. Altitude sickness gets me every.single.time. If you get a chance, maybe give it a try from the Aspen side... it's much more manageable altitude-wise in comparison but still stunningly beautiful.
I remember Crested Butte in the summer of 1979. We called it Crusted Butt, since the snow had melted and uncovered all the trash people had in their backyards. It has changed a lot since then!
Thanks for making this video. I am doing this exact hike next week and it looks pretty great! Also, good camera and editing work! atb -KG
Thanks so much and thanks for watching! I feel like this video only shows a sliver of how beautiful the hike is. Good luck and have a great hike!
Enjoyed the video. Y'all made it look so fun.
Thank you!!
Love CB... Your Video was really awesome.. Well done!
Thank you, V! Really appreciate it. I need to get back to CB for Round 2-- Such a beautiful place.
did that hike in 1981 (before mobile cameras and youtube) quite a memory. Rocky mtn high.
Looks like a great hike. The video was very cool!
Absolutely stunning views! I love hot springs, but have always gone to ones I could drive to. But I imagine it's so much more rewarding if you earn it the way y'all did. Will have to look for one where the hike isn't so much elevation gain - suggestions welcome!
Wow! Amazing vlog. I really love Colorado. Been visit some places there.
Thanks for making this video. It was really a joy to watch but a little bittersweet. I have a bad knee now, from rheumatoid arthritis. I long to walk into places like that again. So much beauty. But I've been off my crutches for two weeks, The knee is not exactly dependable but I can walk normally on a level surface without pain. I have beautiful memories of the back country.. I hope I get to make some new ones. But your videos take me there and I really appreciate it.
Thank you for the wonderful compliment though I'm so sorry to hear about your knee. It's great to hear you have some beautiful memories of hiking in the backcountry. Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can enjoy the outdoors again soon and make more of those memories.
Nice Video, amazing shots and good idea of the hike!
Thanks so much!
Nice Video , thanks for sharing I'll definitively hike it one of these weekends
Amazing. Looks fantastic!
This was so much fun to watch. Totally one of my goal for 2017 considering I've never been hiking like that before!!
It's totally worth it! Nothing better than the feeling of finishing a big hike (especially if it's one of your first).

A Million People and Places did you encounter ticks along the way?
Hey do you need a permit to do this hike? It’s at the top of my list.
All of you looked so cute in this video. I can't hike anymore due to the poor condition of my knees, a result of an ACL tear in 1968 (I was 17) and my decidedly non-knee preserving career with the U.S. Forest Service. I love being around women and hiked with them often in my college days, but with other guys on the trips as well. I'm a married man so take this as a non-lecherous comment, I would have loved to have been on that trip with you. Women are special and hanging around with them is quite enjoyable, they see a lot of things differently and are open about sharing their emotions. This is a breath of fresh air after being around guys and the testosterone thing as much as I have. Don't get me wrong, I love that too, but every once in awhile it is nice to be around just women too.
Such an amazing place!
Hiking is the best way to see our world.
Good hike, great job. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, stunning views, especially at the top. We're new subscribers (#551)!
Thanks for the support!

Looks like great fun!
Beautiful! I want to go!
Beautiful!the place is quite nice too!!
Ha! Thanks, Rasta Ralph!
looks like a beautiful country and strenuous hiking for a 64 year old man that's not all that physically fit. Sure looks great for camping and soaking in the hot springs. Just beautiful country.
Thanks for watching, Harold! There's a beautiful waterfall about .5 miles in that might be a good middle ground - gorgeous nature with the comfort of a bed close by.
May I ask where you started at, like parked car and such? I’m hiking the blue lakes the first week of August and would like to add pretty much your exact hike to my vacation after seeing your video. I just need to know where to park my bike haha.
Awesome nature and awesome video!
Thanks you, Irina! Colorado is really an incredible place.
Cute video. It’s a pretty chill spot.
Agreed, everything about the place was pretty magical. Thanks for watching
you're gorgeous and so is this hike, I'll be up there this week for a few days. thanks for the tips :)
Also you ladies just made me feel welcome and I have not even been to Colorado yet it's in my plans..
So glad you enjoyed the video! There's nothing better than getting out in nature with friends and family. Hope you find some wonderful hikes where you're at and in Colorado (when you make it there!)
@@AMillionPeopleandPlaces Wow thank you for you kind words I do plan on going to Colorado weather it's to live there or just visit... the Ultimate Plan is what I want..
Went camping in crested butte, so unforgettable!!
The high country up there is absolutely stunning. I thought the spring was skanky. Over the years the spring has been enlarged on the back side so the water doesn't flow through. The coveted position is where the water bubbles up. The temperature above the source is reasonable but quickly cools. It would definitely be better if the pool was smaller.
Epic video ladies!!! I hope to start a job there soon.
Thank you and have fun in the snow!
Loved the gray jay at the beginning. They're such beggars!
I love that you noticed the little guy! I got such a kick out of him following us along the trail.
Great video. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun! #Iamacreator
Thank you! I'm glad how much fun we had came through in the video! My favorite part of editing these videos is being able to relive the hikes.
Love ❤️ your channel God bless you
Such an awesome hike! (Btw ... I get altitude sickness too!!!)
Thanks for watching, Jane! Glad to know I have company in the altitude sickness club. I'm back to sea-level adventures in Hawaii!
Great view
Enjoyed the vid great job :)
ive subscribed :)
BEACH LIFE78 thank you!! 🙌 Glad you enjoyed the adventure
Wow nice hike
Man I wanna go hiking with you people.
Can you hike from aspen to get there faster or do you have to take the route you did first?
Beautiful trail with amazing scenery! Thanks 4 sharing - just subbed ur channel (#750). watching & supporting
Thanks so much!
Great Video. How long did the hike take you from CB to the hot springs?
Hey Nathan! We left around 9am and arrived around 7pm right before sundown... but that was with several stops, water refills, and 2 members of the caravan (me) adjusting to altitude. My super hiker/skier friend Chey said it would probably take her 7-8 hours. But then again she may be super human.
Scenery isn't too bad up there, is it?
I really need to do this hike!
Are there any hot springs at the 4 Corners. Cortez Colorado. Any information?
Happy birthday Mikahla!
Well done, Ladies !
Builds character.
:-)
I help with those springs staying warm after a hike there. I stock it with warm brown trout. They are 98.6 degree breed.
It's amazing ! Brave girls :)
I want to go hiking with you guys! Lol I'm putting a group together to do different hikes along the Inca trail. We want it to be the a small group experience like NG travels concept. You should come!!
That sounds so cool! I would definitely have to stock up on altitude pills
You can totally do it! It’s not that high altitude. You were probably higher in the video. It’s just under 8000 ft. And there’s always Mate De Coca, which is what all the natives use. It works! Anyway, I run an Outdoor Education company, and I’m putting together a pilot program for down there. I need a group to come do a trial. The inca trail is out of this world. Let me know if you’d be down!
Sad covid around ! I’m going in July sometime with my girlfriend ! Can’t wait to go . Won’t get to do much as normal
Awesome! What was this recoded with?
Thanks, Juan! Good old iphone did all the recording.
I've been watching different videos from Colorado and everyone filming it so differently! It's like we have been in different Colorado :) What editing program are you using?
It's so great to get different perspectives! This was all done on the iPhone's iMovie app. :) Premiere Pro is great too if you're looking for something more robust.
MORE OF DENVER MILE HIGH BIG NEW SMART CITY COLORADO IS WHERE EVERYONE IS MOVING TO
temperature and elevation? it doesn't look like it flushes well. I like to go in BC to the wild springs in the winter. you have the places virtually to yourself. Hotspring temps are unique to every spring and the same temp at each spring year around. it's got to be hot for me. the deeper into the mountains you go, the more interesting the people are who have to work to get there!!
Fantastic clip...although...I kept waiting for the slasher flick to start.
hahaha I've always wanted to do something like that! You'll think it's just a regular travel video and then BAM
I am interested in what you are using to record and put your video together. Is it a cell phone, camera, etc.? Did you do clips and put it together? Did you use CZcams to put it together or another program?
Hi! I filmed this video with my iPhone and then also edited it on my phone with iMovie. As long as you don't mind editing with your fingers, it's easy, quick, and has a lot of great features. If you're looking for something more professional, I recommend Adobe Premier Pro. It's the most intuitive editing program in my opinion, and it works pretty seamlessly with their other programs if you're going to get into graphics/animation/vfx (After Effects, Photoshop). Best of luck!
I can't seem to find any information online about the way to Conundrum from CB! Where did you start and did you go off trail of what you're technically supposed to do at all?
Chris Doucet hey Chris! Not off trail but felt like it at times. Shoot me a message with your email address and I'll send you some info on the hike from the Crested Butte side to Conundrum
Hey there! I find it funny you just got back to me, I JUST did the Conundrum Hot Springs CB side trip, about 3 days ago. It was actually a 4000ft elevation gain (reaching 13000ft at one point after starting about 9k in Gothic) and dipping down 1000ft again to make it 3000ft above Gothic.
Chris Doucet No way that's awesome! Sorry I just missed you. Glad you got to do it and thanks for the elevation updates!
chris doush dont tell them they are wrong you are wrong
Nice video ❤
Nice job girls!
Hey awesome views.
glad you guys enjoyed the springs, actually the knight represents the little guy the dragon is the"MAN"or the corporate entity, if you see the new horse in town its along the same lines, corporate power trying to sell you a myth, so to speak, i built the dragon in the early eighties
it rested on a roof in hollywood for many years before it came back to Co....
Wow, thanks so much for watching Sean and also for creating such amazing pieces of art! I had trouble verifying the exact representation and heard this through word of mouth. Really glad you reached out. I noted the correction in the video description. Any other public places we can find your sculptures & statues?
What month did you do this?
Hello,
I'm moving to Colorado in December and I would love to know if this is something a beginner can do? I grew up in metro boston and spent last ten years in DC so I have zero outdoors experience. Is this hike something I could do alone? I'm in great physical shape but I am afraid to get lost or eaten by a bear.
Bear spray, back pack with lots of water, rain jacket, lighter, knife, map from forest service, hiking boots not shoes, jar of peanut butter in case, and a full charged phone. If you have that and common sense you'd be fine, most people mess up by thinking one or two water bottles is fine, act like your always spending about three days. If you break an ankle you might spend three days ;)
Hi Joey! These were my exact thoughts I prepped for this hike. (Beginner, bears, will I come out alive, etc). Everyone is different so I can only speak for myself...
A. The hike is TOUGH, but if you're in good physical shape and mentally prepared, I think it's doable. Not very doable, but doable.
B. However, I wouldn't do it alone. As a group of four (2 experienced, 2 beginners), we lost the trail (Crested Butte to Conundrum Hot Springs) a couple times and there weren't many hikers besides us on it. Both a pro and a con -- hooray secluded nature and uh-oh no one to ask questions to. Maybe starting the hike from Aspen to Conundrum Hot Springs then back to Aspen would be a better bet since it's a little less harrowing (cliffs, scree/loose rock fragments) and we ran into more people on that side in case you needed help. C. If you're new to altitude and prone to altitude sickness like me, I highly recommend hitting up an Oxygen bar the day before.
Good luck and keep us posted on how everything goes!
@Maxwell Oakes Yes! All great advice. Common sense is key and a water filter indispensable (as well as everything else you listed).
I was there last year. The place and people are so Hum interesting.... Wss offered a free massage; said no thank you, offered a Faraday hotel room Two nights free, and I said no thank you and then offered some very strange cookies, said yes. All the way home I felt weird. Wonder what they put in my cookie? Where we live is at almost 8000 feet and it is hard at times. Keep hiking...keeps one young.
OMG 12 miles to the Springs from Crested Butte? So I'm guessing a day hike would be more appropriate from the Aspen side? Input is appreciated :)
Hey! The roundtrip hike from the Aspen side is over 16 miles, so if it were me, I would still split up the hike into two days.
AllTrails has a good write up about the hike details: www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/conundrum-creek-trail-to-conundrum-hot-springs
Hope this helps!
A Million People and Places thank you!! I have been reading that site like crazy, all the comments are informative and up to date. We are going in late June, crossing fingers that there won't be snow up there.
