Youâve got a incredible skill of never actually talking about what youâve advertised in the thumbnail
đđđ
đđđ
Hahahahahahaha
That's the new Ste for youđ
Hahahaha this is actually so true
Ait-Nouri got the potential to be the best left back in the league in a few years, all over that signing!
No one mentions that LB from Ipswich. He looks đŁ
At this point, I'd take any LB that can stay fit for a season and can give 110% week in, week out. Pains me to say that as well đ
Nah youâre lying. You wont take paul dummett or matt richie đ€Ł
Whereâd I sign?
He talked about it smh.
Ait Nouri is an incredible player. But why don't we bring back Alvaro Fernandez and use that money on 2 CBs. I can't believe how lightly INEOS is taking this. Hopefully we don't wait all through the transfer window before getting a 35 year old on loan to partner Jonny Evans.
What you wrote is conjecture, we don't know what Inoes will do this summer it's all rumours, they might do excellent business, we just don't know yet.
Calafiori is a beast! Stats to back up too
Calafiori the failed left back?
@@steve13191 plays across the back mainly left sided centre back. 2 assist 5 goals this season. 88th percentile for progressive passes, 84th percentile for carries, 97th for shot creating actions and 99th percentile for assists (all in his respective position) thatâs pretty much a Martinez back up right there
We have to talk about Calafiori. He is absolutely PERFECT for us.
Be a good centre back signing can play on the left and right and also play as a left back
I love that wolves left back, Nouri, a lot
I am a huge fan of Riccardo Calafiorgi (bologna) or Arthur Theate as a LCB/LB hybrid option. But i think they want a more tradition/advanced LB so idk
Theate is a beast - already a regular in that Belgium team, great age at 23 and you'd have to imagine easily attainable from a mid table French side. Very high ceiling and provides cover at both LB and LCB as you've said.
The trouble with Rabiot is the ridiculous wage demands, something Ineos want to change at United. If he's willing to accept normal wages then fine let's have him, if not bugger off.
Luke Shaw should be the back up LCB and Malacia should be the back up LB
I agree on the first point, Luke Shaw should be played LCB only, less work on his body. But Dalot should be the LWB, with Frimpong RWB.
malacia is back up for the kitman
If you watch football careful..and watch Wolves Alt Nour is better than anything we have..
What is with this luke shaw back up shit he's injured 80%+ of the time & he's missed 6 seasons over 11 years absolutely embarrassing he's gotta go!
@@Romandictator Obvs if a good offer comes in, then accept it. But we already plan on selling enough as it is, and struggle for depth at the back even worse. Plus, selling yet another British born player doesnât help, because we need so many in the squad.
Ait Nouri is mint to be fair.
For the Lb shortlist: Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. Really like him
Id love Calafiori, I think hes a great young player destined for the top.
Brighton have had 7 wins in their last 32 League games, De Zerbi has been sacked by proxy without it being officially announced that way.
Ten Hag 1st, Tuchel 2nd as far as I'm concerned. I dont want to see all the potential in our Double Winning U18s go to waste.
Thoughts on Robinson from Fulham?
Quality lb. Whatâs his age?

The issue with getting in free agents is they tend to command a much higher wage compared to if we paid a fee. And as we know, it's a nightmare to sell them on later because no other club is going to pay a fee AND pay those wages. Free agents on the surface sound like a good idea but the best route is good scouts to find good to great talents for 25m or less
If a free agent is holding a recruitment team representing the club the size if utd then we should move on.
Should definitely do a deeper scout report on Locko. Great player, and will be a steal for âŹ20m
Hi Ste
United should actually go for Antonee Robinson from Fulham. Statistically the best LB in the league and looks like a top top professional and at the age of 26; I think he's ready to take the next step
i hate watching him play, run run run, then cutback/backpass. feels one dimensionai
Until we get back into contention, we need a massive squad overhaul, I think we need to find the lesser known gems around ÂŁ20m each, obviously if we find a Worldy we can spend more, but we need aprox 15 players, that will cost us a lot!
Utd squad is bloated.
1x centre half
1x mid
1x centre forward
Then 1 in 1 out
â@tommyknockers5492 I think we need 5 new faces and 2 moved uo from the youth 9 players moved on , and a couple loaned out
đ„đ„đ„
I just don't understand the Tuchel link. There's no reason for him to join and so many for him to not
So true.
Radiot take
You might as well do a shortlist for each position we need to cover
it seems like weâre just focusing on individual players not being fit rather than raising the question of whether the medical department as a whole needs a clear out.
yes thereâre players that are just always injury prone but we need to look at how many players have been âdamagedâ by injuries that only seemed to have started when they arrived at the club, i think that should be a conversation thatâs next to the squad clear out
or maybe itâs the training? itâs very obviously the training
@@iainsteele5737 thereâs just too much to sort out mate
Malacia isn't good enough to begin with and Shaw is brilliant but often injured. Definitely need a quality player there, but was thinking if Lisandro can play wide? I honestly think Lisandro should be used like Danny Blind at LB, CB and CDM where he is needed.
I want two new CBs as a priority followed by another number 9.
I think, in Luke Shawâs case- maybe we ask the guy to take a pay cut to stick around since the guy is injured 2/3 of the time. I love me a healthy Luke Shaw but your best ability is AVAILABILITY. So yeah- a whole season without an actual Left back has been fucking challenging. Not sure what Malacia is doing in his rehab. He didnât really look that good when he wasnât injured to be honest. But heâs still young at least, canât say the same for Luke. If we parted ways with him I would be fine with it
There will be a que of agents going to Dan Ashworths' garden this summer longer than his local ice cream van!
Hi Ste. With all the talk around a LB where do you think this leaves Harry Amass?
I like that we donât know who we are being linked with. I agree with you Steve, keep it secret.
I agree to 95% Of things he says. He thinks deep and hard đđ
Pause
Bot.
Saying that Shaw is never available just isn't true. It's true for half of his seasons, and absolutely false for the other half. If you look back at his last 5-6 seasons he plays 2500 minutes one season and then have one injury riddled season where he plays 1000 minutes. And that pattern keeps repeating. So he usually is very available one season, and the next season he's just not playing. It's like his body can't handle playing 2500 minutes and he needs time to recover after that.
Hope we do business early
Hi Steve, I listen to your show everyday. Why buy a left back when we have one playing in Portugal
Luke Shaw signed a new contract at the back end of last season. Heâs under contract till â27. Whoâs paying anything for a player with such an injury record.
I mirror the chap that suggested converting him to a LCB if it means heâs less likely to pick up injuries. Heâs a beautiful passer of the ball when he plays.
What about Barco from Brighton, he put on a display and show of his skill and talent. I can't believe they subbed him off as he was their best player on the day. AWB did shut him down several times but also got caught out just as many times. Anyone that can run even with Bissaka is way above most players and as a LB that did that, not a winger or striker, impressive. Plus his corner kicks and free kicks were spot on. Why are we not talking about that. He would push Shaw for a starting place and should be cheap. Chris
If United get a fair offer for Shaw, I think they would have to give it serious consideration. The left back I would want, if he's fit, is Estupinan from Brighton. I think he's definitely someone who deserves a look.
Milos kerkez is the better and cheaper option. If he doesn't join a big club this summer, it will be next. His potential is anywhere from Leipzig to the Bayern Munichs of this world. Vini Souza from Sheffield United for a cut price deal could be one of the best signings we've made in recent time to. Shame we're never looking at these players though...
Why are we not in for estupinan. Perfect age and a level above the other players linked.
@rmaniidlr heâll be 27 in Jan. he will be 60 max and heâs worth the premium. Itâs better than spending 20m on average players who need replacing after a season like Malacia.
In 4 years when when heâs 30-31 amass will be at age to start. But United will always choose the cheaper option
Hes literally been out injured all season
got big injury early in the season came back and injured again. if cucurella was sold 60, they would want another 60. might as well buy the next prospect. isnt that what ashworth wilcox and barrada supposed to be good at?
@@steve13191 the next prospect just like shaw all over again. na just pay premium on this position and develop Amass properly.
Keep shaw on a pay as you play perfect back up for a new left back
Maybe we watch out for a new LB because we will go for tosin and todibo, keep one of the current cb + Martinez. And Shaw as a CB backup and maybe malacia is fit next season
Antonee Robinson đ
For fs, what is the problem with Alvaro Fernandez Carreras? Except I'm getting something wrong, that guy is a fantastic left back.
His profile is suited to other leagues im afraid. Good move for him.
@@erickpk7406to other leagues? the guy is literally 6â1-6â2. quick and strong on the ball. if heâs suited to other league what is malacia doing here in premier league? đ the only reason he left is the exact same reason kovar left. ten hag wanted his own players malacia onana in those position.
@@steve13191 being 6'2 doesnt mean you start for utd. Malacia made his name in the eredivisie and dutch national team. Carreras failed to impress in the last preseason after his preston loan. He was very weak physically hence the loan move. And he only just started playing for Benfica. Not everyone will make it at utd. You beed to understand that. Angel Gomes, Mengi, Chong etc
Melvin Bard from nice is a beast
I would not get a left back this summer. The smarter FFP move is to get a left footed center back as back up to Martinez who can also play left back. Kelly and Hermoso are out of contract or Hancko who is a great talent at Feyenoord. This leaves more FFP room while having plenty of cover so you can focus on other positions instead.
martinez wonât manage 20 games next season
Calafiori from the serie a. I think he would be a plug and play fit
6â0
Left footed lcb started out as a full back, gets used by motta in both positions
This calafiori fella scored yesterday and now everyone thinks hes prime ashley cole
@@milz97y Yeah he is also a good option and has been talked about before as well. Having a good season. Afraid he will be too expensive for a rotation option though.
Thoughts on Lief Davis from Ipswich? 21 assists and we could likely get a bargain.
Alvaro Fernandez is already in the club use him as he is our best option for future
Shouldn't MU be focusing on getting 2-4 CBs? The team probably need a first choice or a back up in almost every position, but seeing how Amrabat and Casemiro were push to play there this season, I'd think CB is the top priority.
We need 3, a backup to Martinez, and a starting right cb, and a backup right cb. Sell Maguire, Lindelof, Evans, and Varane.
Is the reason for de Zerbi leaving Brighton is a difference over transfer policy with the ownership. If so no point appointing him with the new set up at United.
Can't believe they haven't made a decision...they must have surely
Why do you believe that they havnt?
Not every decision needs to be, nor should be public information. If done correctly.
Free transfers can sometimes equal big wages too
Che Adams as back up to our current striker who got 10 prem goals? Come on Ste, if Holjund gets injured for 5-10 games, do you really want a Championship striker to lead our line? Haaland X Ălvarez vs Holjund X Adams....Utd fans can't be accepting signings like this or we'll never catch up with City
With that logic bellingham should still be at Birmingham
@@erickpk7406 Huh? Bellingham was a 17yr old when he left Birmingham & tipped to be a generational talent. Adams will be 28 this summer & has minimum future potential at this point...
We arenât ready for a head coach like DeZerbi, he would do better stepping into a team thatâs already stable. We should keep Ten Hag for at least one more season to ride out the storm, until things stabilize at the club and weâve gotten rid of the deadwood. The only managers/head coach I would consider, would be Ancelotti, Hansi Flick, or Nagelsman. We also need to improve our coaching staff, maybe a new assistant coach?
Luke Shaw apparently is preparing to go to the Euros. That's absolutely disgraceful. This tells me he's the type of player Rooney was talking about who is "injured". And is actually just not wanting to play.
Is there not a decent left back in our youth set ups that could make the leap?? I think we need to look at our youth set up first before heading out to the markets
Its embarrassing at who all we link up, when there is Leif Davis who can be available much cheaper and possibly with McKenna at Ipswich even easier to convince.
Left back Iâd go for is Alejandro Balde.
Alphonso Davies is available and should be #1 option.
Luke Shaw should be kept as a left centre back, substitute to Martinez. Otherwise sell.
Options:
2 - Alfie Douhty
3 - Samuel Illing Junior
Keep Luke Shaw. Move him to Left Centre Back, back up to Martinez. He cannot do the overlapping thing anymore. Center back could suit him with less games.
The Teddy Sherringham transfer is the way to go. That was absolutely nothing even rumoured, then BAM.
Calafiori great backup for CB and LB and probably future world class starter
He failed at left back thats why they moved him to cb to begin with. Too slow and couldnt cross out there now they turned him into tesco bastoni at cb
I would give Luke Shaw a season or two as a backup, he's really good at LB and LCB so there's no need to sell him this summer
Heâs had a few years as back up. Back up to Telles, back up to Dalot. Heâs been back up for many years. Time to ship the back ups on and refresh. No more living off the pay cheques and giving nothing back for sentimentality.
We wonât be able to even if we tried. Wages X injury record means you couldnât give him away for free
If I had to guess, De Zerbi to Bayern. They get their work done early and Brighton will want to establish a positive relationship there, so they can get players on the cheap or good loan deals.
AIT NOURI BEST LB
Shaw is a good Left Back but his injury record is properly poor, played around 50% of Games since joining? If we can get a first choice LB then Shaw would be a good back up/rotation LB, which likely helps him stay fit at the same time.
Is Rabiot our new Sneijder?
Gotta be what... 4-5 straight years on the bounce where United have been linked?
Except he's nowhere near the level of Sneijder đ
I prefer ETH staying. If he goes, bring a serial trophy winner. None of the ones mentioned by the media has a good CV for MU
Shaw has had a season off so he will be good next season letâs keep him rise his value a bit again then sell next season
Keep Luke Shaw. Heâll be.a great mentor for a younger LB.
the high earners on contracts won't leave
Getting De Zerbi is going to be a mistake, at that point might as well stick with 2hag. With signings like this, we might clinch top10 next season.
Tbf his midfield last season got sold and wasnt replaced. Enciso Mitoma Estupinan were injured. Style was still visible. Improved meady players like Welbeck Dunk Veltman. He could be alright uno
Hato- Ajax, think heâll end up being versatile after a few years in the prem offering a CB option if needed.
ETH â€
We need a LB that can play as a RB too, Someone like Dedic or Kayode or even Calafiori, but I don't think he'll join
Rabiot on a free, đŻ
My problem with switching managers is itâs more of the same and Iâm getting tired of it. If they give ten hag at least the next year and then decide he isnât the one to take the team forward then there can still be excitement for the new ownership. But if they sack Ten Hag and bring in someone like De Zerbi or Tuchel and they donât show immediate improvement then not only has the ownership squandered the goodwill theyâve managed to earn but the fans like myself will not have any reason to show loyalty to the new manager. Ten Hag at least has 1 good season in the bank.
It's a real shame with Luke Shaw he was a fantastic player before that awful injury in the Champions League, he's never been the same since that injury, I'd like to keep him but that's my heart speaking so sadly try and sell him.
Harry Amass is the future
Crack the bank and get Theo. Plays all season, captain material if needed, and defo strong and fast enough for PL. He would roast most of his opponents.
Keep as third choice
I'd take rabiot on a two year contract max, he'd fill a hole for the medium term, can always do an extension if he's worth keeping
If the only problem with Luke Shaw is his fitness, then he's clearly good enough so I, personally would keep him but bring in an "understudy/back-up" for a longer term solution as Shaw isn't getting any younger. I don't see why he couldn't mentor someone from the academy and start bleeding through youth players. His fitness issues don't make him useless.
If your good enough, your old enough.
Get rid off the wage thief's and deadwood, bring in experience and you have the perfect mix of youth and experience, if it worked for fergie it can work for ETH if the right players are selected and played to there strength in a formation and tactics that work.
De Serbia yes
Wud love McKenna
Too soon and a lot of the players still there stopped playing for him and Ole. Would like to see him have another job and if successful enough, get the job with us
If we could get Rabiot transfer free I'd go for it. We need to sign cheap options.
What the difference between Luke and martial
Yes on De Zerbi for me
Hell no on Beppe DeMarco
Hard pass. But that said Utd will be a 6-4th place team for a few more years yet no matter the manager.
@@samwize28 We've got to move with the times guys. The only competitive teams in the EPL are possession based teams. We need a coach who's able to implement a possession based style of football.
@@velilentantiso possession based football is where the pros for de zerbi starts and ends in my eyes unfortunately.
I would prefer him to the likes of southgate and potter dont get me wrong, but i just think ETH can do what de zerbi does and more if he can just pull his head out from his arse.
Well see. its interesting how de zerbi has left abruptly with the bayern and barca jobs available too. If those clubs are in for him it does make one think ''perhaps he is a legit manager''
@@samwize28 Fair enough mate, let's see what the club decides. Ten Hag is too stubborn to change his ways, i doubt he's going to get on well with the new directors.
United must bridge the gap between what we try to do in the transfer market in summer and what we end up doing by late August.
Traditional threats/limiting factors:
-No competent director of football (hopefully not for the whole of this summer)
-Player power culture*.
-Managerial uncertainty.
-PSR and overspend* during x time period.
-slow decision making.
Not as much Glazers as last window. Not Glazer-free, but nearly 30% off.
I think not having a director of football is better than having Murtough as director of football.
It sounds harsh and maybe he was good at various other stuff he was doing at the club. Even if that's all true, I'd sooner employ a cat to sort out transfer business.
I would sign Rabiot on a free as long as his wages aren't on extortion level. And no longer than 3 years. But I would only do that if we also sign another ballwinning CM that would fit the profile of playing next to Mainoo and freeing him up. I think Mainoo and Rabiot would also work. But we need someone like Onana or Wieffer imo.
Canât sell Shaw ,this season. Keep him as a left back and Left CB when required. Go buy a good left back .
Would be great if they had the money and ambition to go for Alfonso Davies.
I would sell Shaw without a second thought
Rabiot will ask a mad wage. And I think he could be a problem in the dressing room.
On the field heâs good, and he could replace the physicality we lose by having McTominay off. I donât think Rabiot will do the dirty work next to Mainoo, heâll want to be the star.
Tyrick Mitchell would be my choice... Malacia needs a loan to play more luke shaw can be sold next summer
I really like dewsbury hall from Leicester but we need maybe 2-3 centre mids if casemiro eriksen and amrabat all go elsewhere
WHy not Williams?
He had a good season under Ole and was then just fucked off.
Man utd should sign bremer and ait nouri
The fact that Berrada wanted De Zerbi to replace Pep and the fact De zerbi has ceased employment with no job lined up is fishy. Keeping this secret until the FA cup final would make so much sense.
Cb:Todibo, Martinez, Kambwala, Evans.
Lb: ,? A.Fernandez, Malacia.
Rb: Dalot, Dumfries.
Dm: Ndidi, Amrabat
Cm: Mainoo, De jong.
Am: Bruno, Mount.
Lw: Garnacho, Kvicha
Rw: Amad, Antony.

Great squad if u want us fighting for relegation
1. ndidi is awful. 2. de jong is renegotiating his contract. 3. kvicha is awful. 4. 4 centre backs, all of which are injury prone, and one is 38.
Barco at Brighton? But keep Shaw because when heâs fit heâs solid and creative, Malacia is yet unproven.
I wander why no one is considering signing Rafa from benfica.
Hes class. Might join braga or sutin
As to Rabiot - Id b incredibly disappointed w Ineos, exactly the sort of old premadonna we donât wanna be stuck w. Tosin is fine.
