    I fixed my AC re-circ door for free. Just dropped the fan motor down from underneath the passenger side dash. Take out 3 screws and it drops down. Then just reach up in there and grab the door which is laying across the AC outflow. You have to clip some little plastic pieces with some wire cutters in order to remove the door. You will be permanent re-circulated air with this fix, but I am usually always on re-circulated air anyways. Plus like I said, it was free and maybe took 15 mins. I can't believe how simple the fix was and how long I suffered with no AC.

      @steadyeddie7453 Před 5 lety +1

      On my 97 the door you mention has a dual function. When it swings to cover the recirc hole then it opens the fresh air hole in the plenum. When it swings back to cover the fresh air hole it opens the recirc hole. So if the door is missing the plenum is taking in both fresh air and recirc air from inside the cab. Maybe yours is different?

      I did the same for removal of mine. I used jb weld to fix it the first time because they didnt have a better part than factory and the heater treated doors weren't cheap either. The jb weld held for several years but eventually failed. Dorman finally started making a good replacement with a metal insert rather than plastic. I used it and have had no issues. This repair really isn't that difficult.

      Dealer told me that that may be why I'm getting different codes coming up...Power train codes, transmission and abs codes.
      Before I spend $1000 for a TIPM, I'm going to check for damaged wires from friggin mice and chipmunks chewing on wires, since I live in the country and the truck set for 3 months when it broke an intake valve spring and valve guide.
      I even had a squirrel starting to make a nest on top of the battery.

  • @jville533
    @jville533 Před 6 měsíci

    On the Rancho Quick lift,
    I installed those on my 2011 Ram for the clearance for my snow plow.
    I would recommend removing the allen screw on the adjustment knobs and just adding a little bit more grease on them.
    I saw this on someone else's video. When I pulled the adjuster knobs off, I was surprised at just how little grease was in actually in them...not very much at all.
    This is going on the second year of them being installed on the truck and they still adjust as the day I installed them.
    So save yourself a headache later and take the adjuster knobs off and add a little bit more grease to keep moisture and rust out and keep them moving freely.

    Many of these car shows are infomercials to a greater or lesser degree. They have to pay the bills. Even from the infomercials I have learned about new products that actually helped me solve problems and alerted me to new potential parts suppliers. So the infomercials aren't all bad. The trailer tire info drove home a point about replacing trailer tires that have been on a trailer for maybe decades! Case in point, I was towing a valuable show car on an old open car trailer a month ago. We were on the interstate, doing 70 and one of the tires blew out on the trailer. We didn't realize it until we stopped for gas and there wasn't much left of the tire's sidewall. The tread was long gone. That 15" tire was probably 20+ yrs. old and had formally served as a car passenger tire. No big loss, but glad we didn't wreck and damage the car or the tow vehicle. The two tires on the rear axle were Carlyle brand trailer tires and were much newer than the two on the front axle. Time to get two new trailer tires this spring! No more risking life, limb and property. Who cares if these guys do or don't do the actual work. I do learn some things from their shows, even if they don't inform me enough to be an ace at any given repair. LOL

Or the ball joint problems. And that's a repair that no shop likes to take on they are hell to replace due to them becoming rusted. Along with a hole laundry list of transmission problems that those things have. But I will give it to them with the a/c and steering upgrades. Anyone know why a 2005 Dodge 4.7l would keep throwing the same rocker arm over and over? I replaced the lifters because they were clogged, it threw a rocker, I put the old lifter back in to see if it would stop, it threw the same rocker again. I heard putting a washer (app 0.100 thick) under the lifter will stop it from happening but I couldn't get the rocker arm over the lifter and gave up on that idea. I thought about installing adjustable lifters but (to me) it doesn't solve the issue as to why it's falling off in the first place.

    Guys have great advice. My only negative is dont buy from heater treater! Part to fix the 99 is extremely overpriced and probably doesn't weigh 5 oz. And they want to charge 10 dollars for shipping and their customer service is a joke. I asked if they could do anything to lower the cost of shipping told me to come to Austin. Then proceeded to tell me how they have to pay someone to drop it off at the po. Give me a break what a joke! Dont buy from them and truck u needs to not let them sponsor the show anymore!

      That seems to be an issue with the hemi motors. That's a cylinder 3 misfire. Ours was cylinder 5 with mds. Some get 8. With ours when the truck drops down to 4 of the eight cylinders we end up only running on 3 cylinders instead of all 4 like it should be. Also thought because of the code changing the spark plugs would fix it. NOPE. We changed all 16 of THEM. Still didn't help. Started looking into this problem after hearing a ticking sound thinking maybe it's an exhaust leak. You should look up what's going on with the 5.7 hemi issues if that is the engine you haven't done so yet. Could be your lifters, camshaft, springs. See if there is oil coming out from #3 or if dry and if moving properly.
      Chrysler is not taking responsibility for this issue, which they SHOULD. Pain in the arss, and expensive problem(s) to fix. All on their manufacture default. Love our truck. Hate this problem. Right now not happy at all with hearing so many people with same exact problems and Chrysler saying we are ALL soL.

      Bought my 07 4X4 1500 Hemi used with 199,000 miles and it's been a really good truck. Maintenance wise someone didn't know what they were doing because it had 3 different brand of spark plugs in various degrees of tightness.. almost falling out to needing a breaker bar. It got about 13 mpg on the highway. The mds started acting up but I turned it off with Diablosport Predator 2 ". I wanted a little hp anyways along with resetting the tranny shift quality. After the plug change, "tune", it now gets 18-20 mpg on the highway. Not bad for a 12 year old truck with 205,000plus miles.
      Putting new bottom front seat covers and cushions this week. The only thing I see that needs maintenance is the 4wheel drive system. It's a great truck as have all my Dodge cars and trucks have been for over 50 years. At some point, ported heads a Compcams bumpstick with headers will be put installed.@@hushhh2474

    mine is a 2003 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi---when its cold it normally runs good---then after a few miles at a light it idles up an down---sometimes shutting it off and starting it again gets it running smooth for a few miles---sometimes reving the engine clears it up for awhile--engine code that came up for the oxygen sensor---could only find 2--suppose to be 4 but mine seems to have only 2---did not help---changed the 16 plugs---if anything worst---did a fuel cleaner thru the fuel injection system---did not help---and I know the fuel pump was changed 2 years ago---although this sounds like the problem---the other fired it up and ran for 2 hours with just once it rough idled--today it seemed every red light was to be a rev at the light to keep it running---do you think it could all be just a valve spring--Thanks in advance

      Why would you want to spend nearly $100 per oil change with those.
      I have a 2011 Ram that broke a valve spring at 108,000 miles, granted it's a gas 5.7 Hemi but when I tore it down, the engine was clean inside, no gunk or sludge. I only use Mobil1 full synthetic.
      I live on a dirt/gravel road so it sucks in a lot of dust when people pass me going the other way.
      I had an 86 Chevy Astro van with the 4.3 V6, when I had to tear it down, the engine was clean, with Mobil1 full synthetic.
      I change my oil religously at 5,000. I drive 57 miles one way to work, so I go through oil changes pretty quick. I can't see spending that kind of money at every oil change.
      Personally, I think it ludicrous and fool hearty. My dad always told me that a fool and his money soon part.
