      @@jvazquez53 - If your daughter is looking to get the big Bronco (not the Bronco Sport which is a turd) then I don’t see the problem! The engine, transmission, suspension (basically the complete drivetrain) has been in millions of vehicles including fleet and commercial vehicles and have a good track record! My family is a Honda family (5 vehicles) yet my F-150 2.7 has the 2nd most miles (2006 Accord = 390k miles / F150 = 230k miles) and has never had an issue while my 2018 Accord with less than 90k miles needs a new AC condenser! I've been a mechanic most of my life. I don't know what experience you have but it's lacking. It's not a race car. If you can't stop it properly with the factory brakes then you shouldn't be driving. As far as HP goes, Hell, we had V8's with 150HP pulling trailers. About the only thing I can agree with you on is cylinder deactivation. Even on a V8 it's a pita. Ford only got into it because they're trying to get every MPG they can. No vehicle is perfect. I use to work for a Toyota dealer and trust me we always had enough work. Most peoples problems come from lack of maintenance and how they treat their vehicle. I've owned many Fords over the years with over 200k and have yet to crack open an engine or replace a transmission.

    • @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD
      @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for stopping by and sharing you are right except on my lacking experience, bronco sport weight 3700# then tow 2000# 5700 max plus all the items we all bring on top of that, so ;lets say worst case 6k and your confident a 3 cylinder motor is going to make the test of time. It wont and those brakes ohhh those brakes Hey take it easy

    • @Tom-yj6mt
      @Tom-yj6mt Před 2 lety +1

      @@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD I honestly don't see the brakes bring a problem. The old pickup trucks only had one piston calipers and drum brakes and did just fine. I do agree that I wouldn't tow anything with a Bronco sport. I think the engine is fine for moving the vehicle around, but would definitely be to much pulling a trailer or camper. Being in boost all the time would be to much for the engine.

    7500 miles on my bronco sport. Under the hood it looks messy. No bad noises though. Brakes are honestly great. Best vehicle I have ever driven in the snow with Falcon Wlidpeak AT3W tires on it. I am averaging 29.8 miles per gallon. I have driven around 300 miles of dirt roads and it does great in amny conditions. The only thing I cannot adamantly disagree with the gentleman who made this video is with the long term issues with the engine or drivetrain - and that's because no one has 150k on their bronco sport as of yet. As for a 3 cylinder that hits 6k rpms - I got a 2 cylinder bike that hits 14k rpms just fine. Modern car engines are becoming more like motorcycle engines all the time. As for multiple displacement systems - while the verdict might still be out, the reality is this tech is happening with every manufacturer including motorcycles as well. Some older guys will always think of the old 8-6-4 from back in the 80's, and I think we can all agree that motor by gm sucked. I've owned the 5.7 hemi with the MDS in it and that truck has the reputation for the cams and lifters going bad. This caused people to assume it was the MDS system's fault. Truth is RAM installed very cheap rollers on the lifters which wear prematurely and then lock up which in turn destroys the cam. Multiple displacement systems are going to be more and more commonplace. I think the vid creator might need to update his understanding of modern engineering or maybe stick to videos centered around older tech which seems more familiar to him. I say this because the wisdom in this video was relevant 20 years ago, and then fair skepticism 10 years ago, but currently not so much. This platform is across a wide variety of ford vehicles and has been around prior to 2021 as it was developed in both the awd system of the focus st and the escape. Ford has invested enough time into platform to feel comfortable using it among most of their vehicle line up including the new Maverick.

    Hello. Bronco Sport owner here…Big Bend edition, traded in my 2015 Subaru WRX. Absolutely love it, no issues at all, and that 3 cylinder is a total bad a$$. Compared to the RAV4 in terms of reliability, it ranked higher on the JD power score. Not to mention it earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. Can’t get better than that.

      @@michaelstarks5656 Why? I mean the Bronco Sport beat out the competition on the IIHS Safety Ratings, including the RAV4. So if it’s more safe, there has to be some quality to the machine. Not to mention it has the best AWD drive system in its class. There’s a reason it’s the 🐐.

      @@michaelstarks5656 It’s a brand new vehicle, a first year production vehicle. Of course there are risks when buying any vehicle that is brand new and any quirks will be worked out. Like you said, all car manufacturers have recalls these days, though I have no recalls on my Bronco Sport thus far. In fact, I feel pretty comfortable saying this has comparable reliability to Toyota. My Grandma has a 2020 RAV4 and while it is slightly bigger inside, it’s doesn’t feel more quality than the little Bronco. To my knowledge, Ford and Toyota are the only ones still putting real automatic transmissions in their vehicles, not those god awful CVT or DCTs. I believe it really comes down to the owner and proper maintenance of how long a vehicle lasts. As for now, I am super happy with my purchase and all the head turns was totally worth it because it really is a handsome vehicle. I don’t know how reliable it will be 2-3 years from now, but in 4 months I will have had it for a year with 0 issues. It may not end up being the most reliable in its class, but it is certainly the most capable. Hopefully in 3 years, they’ll have the new Tacoma TRD which I will eventually get. Cheers 🥂 and happy holidays🎄 .

    My wife's 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 has a 1.2L three cylinder engine, I believe it puts out 78hp at like 5500 or so. The car weighs like 2200 lbs. The CVT is a dog but at least the engine doesn't work all that hard, your engine speed is always at like 2k or below when you're cruising along. I never thought in my wildest dreams another manufacturer would have the brass cojones to bring another 3 banger to the North American market. I would never buy a 3 cylinder in anything heavier than the Mirage and maybe a CVT is fine for a regular car like a Corolla or Civic but I was researching the Subaru Ascent, says that it can tow 5000 lbs. 🤣 Yeah ok, with the only thing between you and that 5000 lbs. trailer is a steel belt that stretches. Unbelievable engineering. I mean just terrible. I'm getting me a Toyota Highlander, they've upped the tow capacity to 5000 lbs. on the newer ones with the factory tow package. I have a small 5x8 aluminum trailer with a GVWR of 2990, so the Highlander should be plenty.

      I have owned 6 new Mitsubishis and 3 of them were Mirages all purchased new, 2015 Mirage ES CVT, 2017 Mirage G4 SE CVT, and now I have my 2021 Mirage SE CVT and 2019 Eclipse Cross SEL Touring S-AWC. I buy a new car every 2 to 3 years and never have I purchased the same car twice until the Mirage and I have owned many cars. The engine, a 1.2L 3 cylinder engine with 78 hrsp and 74 lb ft of torque is extremely basic and super reliable. It has so little to go wrong with it and is so easy to maintain and work on. These cars are proven to be reliable by owners and owners love them. I would never buy a FORD period weather it be a 3, 4, 6, 8 cylinder! Of all 6 Mitsubishis (1 Outlander Sport, 2 Eclipse Crosses, 3 Mirages) they have been our most reliable and most liked vehicles of all our new cars purchased from Chevy, Hyundai, Dodge, Kia and Mitsubishi since 2001 until now. They made some nice upgrades to the 2021 Mirage and Mirage G4 especially the SE trim. The SE trim hatch is spiffed up nice inside and out with the leatherette and plaid stitched cloth seats, led headlights, led daytime running lights, led tail lights, push start, cruise, pw, pl, pm, forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, auto high beams, new gauge cluster, new touch screen and larger back up camera, cloth on front door panels and door arm rests, upgraded interior trim throughout with piano black, chrome and carbon fiber, fold down driver seat arm rest, heated seats and tons of minor tweaks. The SE really takes it up a notch for 2021. Even the base Mirage ES may not have all the visual upgrades and higher end extra features its still super well equipped with pw, pl, pm, keyless entry, bluetooth, cruise, audio controls on steering wheel, back up cam, 7 inch touch screen, apple car play, android auto, usb port, led tail lights, automatic climate control, 7 airbags, forward collision mitigation and pedestrian detection with auto brake, and more. Compared to a base Chevy Spark LS its very well equipped as the spark does not even have power windows, no power locks, no automatic climate control, no led tail lights, no cruise control, no audio controls or bluetooth controls on steering wheel, only seating for 4, much smaller rear seat, much smaller cargo area, and worse fuel economy. Sure the Mirage has less power and may be a little less refined than the Spark but the Mirage is far more reliable in the long run especially looking at previous earlier year Sparks and Mirage owners like their cars. Glad you got a Mirage G4.

    My concern is not about a loose bolt or missing a bit of oil , I can handle that.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Automotive Technology, a Bachelor Degree In Industrial Engineering, Associates Degree in Accounting and a Minor in Phycology. I own the Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend version and I have not had any issues with it. To tell you the truth, I rather have my vehicle produced in Mexico or any other Country than ours. I have been in the Manufacturing business for over 30 years, very little of that has been in the automotive field but in the food, beverage and personal hygiene products industry. In my experience, I have seen a significant decline in a personal sense of pride, quality of work, work ethic and a personal concern about what is produced and how it is produced in the American worker. I can't help but think this is why the foreign markets are kicking our asses, (Americans), in every Manufacturing market we have. "If you can't beat them, join them" has been the American theme for the past 30 years or more for everything we used to be efficient at: Manufacturing, Information Technology, Engineering, Architecture, etc. So, no disrespect, but you and others thinking that if something is manufactured in a different Country besides ours "Is a piece of crap", is a farce. Sorry to be so blunt but this is the future the American Businesses and our culture has put us in.
