    I watched the video and then purchased the cover (2005 Silverado 3500 HD). It went really well and I would not have done it without your excellent video. Great video and the seat cover is a very, very good quality. I did the drivers seat, the passenger seat is next.

    Great video, very helpful. Both the bottom and back foams on both my front seats are seriously shot and need replacement. 2004 Sierra 1500 OEM seats are 12 way power with heat and pewter leather. I found and recently purchased a set of 2004 Silverado pewter cloth seats that are in virtually new condition. The bottoms should just transfer over as bolt ins except I have to peel the fabric off to move the heating element, but what about the back foam? How does that come off the frame? Any tips? Thanks.

    I couldn't help but notice how the top of the seatbelt wasn't loosened up from the seat by you at all, and as you took the seat cover off, it lifted off from the seat a good 3 inches. AREYOU KIDDING ME???? The seat cover is what hold it in place???? damn! no wonder Tahoe and Suburban owners get injured so badly when they hit another SUV. That can't possibly hold the average 300lb American. OUCH!!!

    • @karlus3684
      @karlus3684 Před 4 lety

      You can, but getting that bolt out is hard (breaker bar). You will need to 100% clean the threads from that blue loctite or you will bend the bracket trying to get it to go back in. It's a lot of work.

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Před 4 lety

      So while technically yes, that would work, the cover measurements are not the same length and there's a small part of a metal bar that would stick out by the control panel. If you would like, we could always double-check that for you! You can take a picture of your seat covers, as well as provide a VIN # and email that information to sales@theseatshop.com. We can assist you further from there!

    Can you replace the foam?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the comment, usually the top foam does not need to be replaced since most of the stress goes to the driver bottom foam. If there is a section that is missing what you can do instead is add a block of foam to that section with some spray adhesive to fill that section up again. Do you absolutely have to remove the bottom part of the seat?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Před 5 lety

      Hi and thanks for the comment, some people try to work with their seats in the vehicle and immediately regret it. The main reason is that you have to know where you are clipping the covers to which is underneath the seat frame and usually a couple things happen: 1. the covers rip since they are being tugged in a way they should not be tugged. 2. You will clip into the wrong spot and your install will not look as great 3. You might damage a power cord or cut your hand with the frame. 4. It will probably save you at least an hour of work since you will struggle in getting to the right spots (door, steering wheel, center seat or console in the way). But you can still try and do the install with the seats in the vehicle we would just not recommend it.

    • @PeterEss
      @PeterEss Před 5 lety

      TheSeatShop thanks for the response! With the seat out of the vehicle, can I just roll up the seat back cover to get a new heating element in or do I need to remove the bottom foam etc ?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  Před 5 lety

      @@PeterEss it will depend on the top or bottom seat section, for the top you can unroll the top to remove the heating element. For the bottom, you will need to remove the cover. But the easiest item to remove is the bottom foam since it just sits on the frame, how it works is the cover velcros onto the foam and then wraps around the foam and clips to the frame underneath the seat. This video should explain the process if need be you can just fast forward or jump around the video.

    • @PeterEss
      @PeterEss Před 5 lety +1
