- Yo! If, for some reason, this is the first video of mine that you've found, welcome! I've got two other (probably more successful) videos covering the FuturePress guides for Dark Souls and Elden Ring up on my channel right now if you somewhat enjoyed this style of vid. The audio sucks ass in them, but what can ya do. They're below if you're interested.

I'm supposed to be coding a very important web app for work, but they're just gonna have to wait 38 minutes and 52 seconds
Code is temporary. This video is forever
We both know you're just gonna steal it from Stack Overflow.
@@AquaSlothare you going to do ds2? This is my first video of yours but I plan on watching your other souls videos, I always love watch some good dark souls content
I'm supposed to be writing a philosophy essay worth 50% of my grade. It can wait 38 minutes and 52 seconds
Mood
Ludleth doesnt get enough respect on his name. He was one of the few npc's who honored his vow and provided an immense help to what is essentially his own destruction. Lothric prince is also an interesting king who rejects the entire premise of re-linking the fire.
Honestly, yeah Ludleth is kind of a G for helping the Unkindled, and even just being the only one to show up at Firelink. Princes always felt a little weird to me personally, but I also should add that I’ve never really looked into their lore much
@AquaSloth Ludleth was the only ahh hole to go against the rebellion against the fire linking.
Lothric was right. All kings were dooming the entire world because they were afraid of the dark. When Lothric refused to link the fire, the world was gonna finally collapse onto the age of man. But Ludleth did it (because of his need to be seen as important). He is the most recent lord of cinder from the moment we start playing.
Remember Dark Souls is about finding out your objective is shitty and you should not be following those orders.
@maskingtables Intersting take, and probably lore accurate.
The canon ending is likely the age of dark. What I care about is that he honors the vow regardless of his disposition towards some end. He ultimately leaves the choice of such matters to the ashen one who he helps and doesn't dissuade either choice.
If you catch ludleth sleeping, he has a night terror of linking the flame and how painful it was. I'm not exactly too sure about his reasoning, only that he accepts his fate.
@AquaSloth supporting the age of fire shows a deep misunderstanding of the lore. Beyond opinions and interpretations, the entire work of Miyazaki has been the story of how the age of fire is killing the world for not accepting its own end. The stagnation of linking the fire is the reason the world is corrupt. Lothric was trying to save the world.
@@AquaSlothall I know is Lorian was cool but wasn't supposed to be the one to link the flame the really crippled one was supposed be cool and link the flame but wasn't fit without the strength of his brother so oceiros wanted a dragon baby to to be sure it would be strong and link the flame
33:20 I just wanna point out. The nameless king always had the power to use not lighting but SUNLIGHT.
All the lightning miracles we see in dark souls 3 aren’t real sunlight magic spells but imitations based off your faith.
The nameless king is so special because he directly uses sunlight magic. The only other person able to was Gwyn. Making him a very special canon character
picks warrior, proceeds to level dex as a show of dominance. respect and sub earned
I will always be a proud dex user!
Bro you leveling dex to show submission not dominance
Im gonna be honest even after like 6+ playthroughs I had no idea you could ride the bridge down to the smouldering lake
I think the only reason I knew that you could was from either a ymfah or Iron Pineapple video! It gets a little janky with trying to map your character to the bridge midair
Yeah after all this time i just found out like a month ago. I naturally avoided falling because falling bad
kinda how i feel about Hodrick and the tree. i gotta go download it and see what the fuck
I haven’t watched this thang yet, but the first bit you pulled in the literal first dozen seconds hooked me in and I’ve never been so excited to watch a video in my life.
Hahaha, I hope it didn’t disappoint!
Your vibe is absolutely chill, thanks so much for putting these out!
Hey thank you for watching it! Glad you enjoyed the vibe and really appreciate the nice words :)
Yhorm the Giant is one of my favorite bosses in the series. I never used the special weapon, instead i used a regular one, making it a 30min test of patience.
I love Dark Souls!
I love Your videos!
Yeah dude, the Yhorm fight rocks! I really wish they would have mentioned Seigward so that he could fight with us, so that's kind of a bummer. Much love!
if you hit yhorms head or arms he will stagger letting you deal tons of damage to him, turning a 30 minute test of patience into a 2 minute smackdown
@@AquaSloth i don't think they should have done that though. it's like an important quest spoiler.
Yeah, same, I didnt know you had to use that weapon, so I just fought him for hours.
@@alexandertititbf it’s a guide to play the game so some spoilers should be exoected
This is the first video of yours that ive found and let me just say that it is a true gem. Keep on doing you man!
Thank you man! I’m glad you enjoyed, and hope to see you around!
Those vids are so good dude, before those all the information was scattered into individual videos im so grateful for this, im doing a bloodborne run rn with your vid its a blast thank you so much for those!!
Hey you’re welcome! I don’t know how helpful the DS3 guide video will be for Bloodborne, but whatever works!
Very happy this showed up in my recommended. Dropped a sub after I heard the "you gotta know when to hold em" line. Looking forward to future content
Glad you found and enjoyed it dude! That line seems to be a fan favorite, which I did not expect at all when I wrote it. Tbh, I don’t even know that I’ve ever actually heard the song, I just knew that one part 😭
i absolutely love darks souls and anyone who keeps the franchise going!!! amazing video!!
Thank you! I will do what I can to spread the good word!
Prima guide too! Old schooool. And I am right there with you - no skipping, only killing.
Monkey brain says “here now. Fight now”
Bro, i love playing through souls while listening to your videos podcast style. I love the humor. Tons of entertainment
Thank you dude! Appreciate that you’re enjoying it :) The vods are up too if you want some REAL background noise
bro you need alot more attention, made me laugh multiple times with little references to things
Hey thanks dude! I'm glad you got a kick out of it!
Great stuff as per usual. Was definitely looking forward to this one, ds3 is what got me into souls games
I started with Dark Souls on the 360, but 3 is definitely my favorite one to come back to. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I love these types of formats, you and ZeroLenny both just following the guides verbatim and making jokes about it fantastic content sir!
Thanks man! I see people talk about ZeroLenny a lot in here, but I can’t say I’ve watched a lot of his videos. Glad you liked it!
@@AquaSloth He's like the Bri'ish, cat memes version of you.
@@cheftroyardee7982He is incredibly obnoxious. I much prefer this style. I hate being shouted at by CZcamsrs lol
Lenny's videos like this would be a lot cooler if the "guides" he was following actually existed lol, he made up most of the stuff in those videos
@@elspethtireldo you have any proof that they don't?
Aqua Sloth posts a video. I watch immediately. A universal constant.
Everything is as it should be!
Hey man its nice to see you, I liked your other dark soul videos
Thanks dude! I am stoked to hear you enjoyed the other vids, and hope to see ya around in future ones. Glad you're here!
Says hes gonna level dexterity for the run because of the previous ones being made with a strength build - proceeds to use the ultra greatsword that scales off of dexterity for a good portion. i love it haha
What can I say, I love to keep people on their toes. What- did you think I was gonna use a katana or something??? Get real!
Great video! Im in my first playthrough also haven't watched a guide for this game (until now lol) and already beat the dancer and realized i totally missed the whole smoldering lake area lmao
I think I did the same thing on my first time through! I know for a fact that I also missed Untended Graves and Archdragon Peak as well
@@AquaSloth crazy how much there is to these games.
I subbed! Looking forward to more.. you had me rolling!
if they didn't want us to call him index gundyr, they shouldn't have made his name the same thing with one letter upside down
PREACH brother!
That the gambler quote earned you a sub, straight up. 👌
Haha, you know weirdly enough, you're not the first person that's said that! Didn't realize there were so many Kenny Rogers fans out there. Appreciate it!
Nice one, dude. Made my day when you uploaded this.
Thank you man! I’m very pleased to hear you enjoyed it :)
I’m very excited to finally have time to watch this
I hope you enjoy/enjoyed it!
@@AquaSloth my knee is sore from slapping it so much my guy!
What a crazy intro, gotta lock in and finish the game then watch that vid!
Please do and come back to tell me your thoughts about it!
I actually just finished playing Bloodborne for the first time and replaying Elden Ring last month cause the wait for Elden Ring DLC is driving me crazy. Was looking to play DS3 next since the slower, more punishing designs of 1 and 2 don't interest me. Great video!
Thank you dude! I tried and failed to play Bloodborne, but really want to give it a fair shot since I have literally only heard people sing it’s praise. I am stoked for the Elden Ring DLC, and am right there with you on the wait. Glad you enjoyed it!
This was really good man
Thank you brother man! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Brother, seeing that this video was uploaded was the most pleasant thing that happened to me all day. And also, you're not the only one that called him "Index Gundyr" 😂
Hey thank you man! I think I’ve seen like 3 other comments also admitting to calling him Index, so we are not alone! Appreciate the kind words.
I’ve literally been saying that for YEARS!!! None of my friends corrected me, they call him that too
Great video my man! Hilarious as always!
Thank you for checking it out! Stoked you enjoyed it :)
@@AquaSloth brother I may not comment on everything you do, because time and shit (intoxicated) but I always keep up with you. Keep going my dude
You are one of the funniest blokes I’ve seen in a bit. I would gladly go hollow with you

Hilarious vid 🤣. Watching vids on this game feels so nostalgic
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed it!
No but the way this just made my day! Thank you for uploading! Been so excited for this! 🎉
Thank you for checking it out! Hope you enjoyed it :)
Love the humor, this is peak Souls content right here.
Hey, I am super glad you enjoyed it! Thank you, for real!
damn man I watched the whole vid I though it was 15m or something I didn't fell the time lmao. keep up the good work

Worth the wait
Thank you chief
20 seconds in and I already know this man is a part of the souls community 😂
It’s great to be here :,)
@@AquaSlothman the nameless king felt like the biggest fan service for someone that's been a sunbro since solaire helped a homie out
The first sunlight warrior was a fuckin menace
Good work dude
Thank you man! Appreciate the support
I bought the Elden Ring guide book right away but not because id follow it. It's just cool to have. It's filled with art and lore.
That’s mainly why I have them too! The walkthrough stuff is just fun for video
But did you know that, if you had the greatwood breaking the floor before meeting hodrick, you can still join the mound makers covenant if you complete sirris' questline. Apparently he drops the covenant item when you invade him.
I actually had to look this up when I was writing that bit of the script, so prior to that, I did not! I think I've only completed her questline once, so I don't remember a lot of the details other than fighting Hodrick in Road Of Sacrifices and then on the Irithyll bridge. It's cool that you can still join!
I like how you do your videos
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed them :)
damn this vid really was fun to watch
Thanks man! That means a lot :)
the Deep Axe does Dark dmg because you have to be a very deep person to understand how dark my soul is as a sigma male chad, once struck, you get to feel only 0.1% of my pain which for mere mortals is unbearable (it adds 42 dmg per swing).
I am absolutely soaked right now, wowzers. He so strong 😩
I just finished the abyss watchers but I missed the fire demon and the deacons! Appreciate it!
You bet! Glad this was helpful on a very weird way
Holy crap The Sloth ™ is back :)
My love! I hope you are well. Stoked on the new tape :)
Awesome video. I hope your good to do Bloodbrone soon.
I sadly don’t have a PS4, but with as many of you that have asked for BB, I feel like I must get one and do it. I’ll keep ya posted!
Thanks for the post. Can't wait to see what you have in store awesome content man.
Hell yeah! More Aqua! Armored core ever?
I can’t say I’ve ever played Armored Core, but I would not say no to it! Are they games that are aided by guides? From the little bit of gameplay I’ve seen from the new one, it looks like a very hectic shooter
@@AquaSloth I didn't actually know beforehand, but yes! There is an armored core 6 pilot manual from future press (the people who make the souls guides iirc)
This video just popped up in my recommended coincidentally while I'm running through Demon's Souls and you choosing to focus dex as a warrior earned you a sub. Big dick energy earns my respect
Fuuuck yeah, thanks dude! I gotta come back to Demon Souls sometime, I completely skipped it
great vid btw
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed it!
this is the first video of yours I've been recommended by CZcams and I just gotta say, real great shit, I find so many "play x game as intended" videos pretty mid but your humor and pacing make it actually entertaining
Thanks man! I agree, I feel like sometimes the “developers intended” videos can be a little too sterile and “go here, then do this, then this, then this, okay we’re done”. This video is definitely my favorite or the 3 I’ve done!
@@AquaSloth very true dude, anyways keep it up with the great videos I'll definitely be watching what you have coming in the future
I hope that im not the only one who noticed the Kenny Rogers The Gambler reference. That shit was GOLD
You’re the second person to explicitly mention it, so you’re not alone!
Babe wake up, new Aqua Sloth is out
We BACK baby!
Absolutely amazing video! are you going to attempt this for other games like bloodborne or sekiro?
Thanks dude! I don’t have any immediate plans for either of those, but would love to eventually do them, yes! I need to get a PS4 for BB, and need to get the guide for Sekiro (which I think is online for free if I recall correctly). I’ve got a couple other, non FromSoft games in the works that I’m stoked to share soon!
@@AquaSloth Either way I’m hyped for what you do next!
First off. I want to be friends with you (28, dad, for reference hahaha) you just seem so chill and funny. Two. I find it so silly to create a guide for a series all about figuring things out and learning, I understand it. Just seems a little silly. Fantastic video friend
Hey thanks man! If you wanna shoot the breeze and/or play some games, you can join the discord and hang out with all of us over there!
Daddys back. A blessing during these dark times.
We gonna make it, lil homie. Trust
You can join the mound makers cov after curse rotted great wood, you just gotta complete sirris's questline, it gave me the covenant yesterday
Algorythm Push.
Doing the LORDS work
That dex build with the zweihander was sickkkk
Gotta keep ‘em on their toes
I started to play this game with the mind of trying to beat it not to long ago and oddly enough i'm following this video and it's oddly helpful enough lmao. Short and gets majority main objectives of each map
I sincerely hope you stick with it dude! DS3 is one of my top 5 for sure and it's so rewarding once it clicks for you. Don't give up, skeleton!
the best tip i can give you for aldrich is to use chaos bed vestiges, you can always respec at rosaria if you dont like it. same goes for dancer, black flame and dark fire orb are insanely good against her as well. blackflame also works really well on nameless king, so there are ways to make the fight easier besides learning how to dodge, the guide just doesnt mention them. i think because the rosaria infinite respec glitch is so easy to execute, any strategy goes.
this is peak souls content. im sure my essay can wait a little
Aye, I appreciate the kind words brother man. Hope the essay went well, and hope you enjoyed the video!
That Mitochondria line was killer!
Ayyee, thank you!
13:20 “and he’s taking the kids” 😂😂😂
this was a banger
“And I know bangers”
Thank you dude!
This man’s content is 10/10. The sheer amount of references he put into that script 😚🤌
Haha, I don’t know much about a lot, but I do know a little about a few things. Glad you enjoyed the many obscure and fucking stupid references I made. Appreciate the kind words, and the Elysian pfp!
I think Anor Londo’s return was a perfect throwback which was abundantly foreshadowed by silverknights, pictures of Gwynevere, statue of Gwyn and the elevator, it can’t be any further from an afterthought. It’s not a 1 to 1 copy and it is a good way of dealing with Gwyndolin since it was a secret boss and by lore it is ambiguous whether or not he was killed by chosen undead, it is now a part of Aldrich. I also like how new players may think Gwyndolin is Aldrich and not the blob, but veterans will catch on the second they see him
Oh yeah dude, I really liked it’s addition in 3, but I guess with it being scaled down to just the main cathedral was what I was talking about. I think “afterthought” was poor word choice on my part, but I just meant that it felt more like “oh this would be a cool little throw back to add” as opposed to having it be a whole new area
@@AquaSloth
yea it’s kinda small for a location but any bigger and it would feel like repeating ideas. I think streets of Irrythyl would’ve been outshined as well if they made it bigger. It’s better to have more new and a little of old and not the other way around (cuz that way we’ll get elden ring lmao)
Will you do the DLC??? Just asking again amazing guide and amazing video.
Thanks moonbear! Sadly, the guide’s don’t usually cover the DLC since they come out just after the launch of the base game, but I would like to cover it in possibly a smaller little video. But as of now, no plans :(
The nameless king is my favorite boss in dark souls three by a pretty large margin and I've gotten to the point where I can single attempt him fairly consistently. That is my proudest achievement in any videogame and I will brag about it whenever someone brings him up.
Hell yeah dude! He's a fun one and I always enjoy fighting him, but I am nowhere near first attempting him lmao. I'm a cool 15-16 try kinda guy
Fun fact I got the hard cover guide with the deluxe edition. It's actually a solid guide, but I also grew up in 1999 so
I think the contents are the same as the soft cover, but yeah it’s a sick guide! The artwork is rad and I really liked the archetypes section where they show some of their builds
HE'S BACK 🙌
Hello!
You actually can join the mound makers if you kill the tree by doing Sirris's questline, you get it at the end of it. I found that out recently
I did see this online when I was looking it up, but it seemed so out of the way and I don’t even think they mention Sirris a single time in the walkthrough portion, haha. Glad to know it’s still possible though!
Amazing as always! Now you need to play Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. The only Souls that I don't like straight up!
Haha, you’re not alone! I’ve tried to play DS2 a couple of times and could not really get that into it, but I would love to do a video for it. I also may have just scored the guide on eBay for $40 👀
The piggy back ride isn't the only way to join you can join after beating the Greatwood
I did not know this prior, but a couple people have mentioned this! I think you have to progress Sirris’s questline??
I don't know who Sirris is I just remember going back to the entrance of the Greatwood's boss fight and when you have an ember there's a sign to go to an NPC's world where you help them kill who I believe is their grandad and then you can join.@@AquaSloth
Holy shit this is the best intro I've ever seen
Hey, glad you enjoyed it!
literally the best game show on youtube
My personal favorite is Family Feud, but I appreciate the kind words!
11:57 Well done there with the joke. Well done
Aye, thank you boss man. Glad you enjoyed it!
The bosses were insane in ds3 especially the dlc. it was my first souls game and me and my brother played different builds and would play whenever we could. I beat it with no help it was a huge battle I died hundreds of times but I got through it and beat all the others except ds2 which I’m playing through right now
Yeah, 3 really cranked it up in some areas. I feel like a lot of bosses can be cheesed in DS1, which makes me wonder if they took heavily that into account for 3 and tried their best to make the cheese-proof. As far as I know, there’s no “easy nameless king”, you just gotta learn
If I remember correctly you don’t actually have to kill Horace. You just have to make sure to tell Anri that you don’t know where he his. If you tell Anri where Horace is while he is still alive he will end up killing Anri.
You have a few seconds to hook your audience at the start of a CZcams video. Bro understood the assignment.
On GOD. I wish I didn’t have to censor it, but CZcams yells at me if I say bad words too early.
Magnificent retelling
Thank you! It's a ton of fun to do and literally the sole reason for that Halo CE video I did. I just wanted to retell the story of it lmao
"storm ruler is suspiciously close to serpent hunter" it's not even the first time they reused this actually! It's a reference across multiple of their games~
Wait, what are the other ones?? I don’t remember if there was one in DS1, but I also haven’t really played DS2 or Demon Souls
@@AquaSloth it's also in demons souls for a fight with a boss called Storm King! ^^
Dude I just started this game again. Best in the series.
I always have a hard time deciding between 1 and 3, but I think I would have to agree! I think 3 improved on a lot of little mechanics that were there in 1, but maybe not as great as they could have been
I think at 20:00 a plural was used to indicate the lower room. There was a disconnected lower area in the same building with a bunch of those guys, but I doubt the guide covers the fact throwing knives knock them down when they try standing.
It covers the first floor of that building, but yeah I had no idea that throwing knives knocked them down! This is the first that I am hearing of this
I've completed all trophies for DS3 on 2023 with invasions and co-op. no help from no one. Pure pain.
I did it in like 2021 and it was fucking rough. Even with invasions, the proof of concord kepts were still by far the worst
Theres so many things you need to do prior to abyss watchers. At least if youre going for the platinum or specific trophies. I had no idea they made the books. I cant tell how i feel about it.
The books are rad! As much as I shit on them, I do really enjoy reading through them and seeing the artwork and whatnot
Yeah that art would be worth it for sure.
I'm shocked the guide didn't mention what to do with the eyes
It does, actually! Between the Kiln of the First Flame page and the page for Soul Of Cinder, they give a list of possible endings and mention all the steps for the Hollow Ending. That being said, the hollow ending isn’t really intended, so choosing to link the fire (as per the guide), I decided to just leave that out of the video
You actually can join the Moundmakers without doing the cage stuff if you follow Sirris’s quest line
I do remember reading this! It’s kind of an ass backwards way of joining, but it is possible still
Love your content immensely. You had my wife spitting her drink out all over the place by your comments. xD Anri is my favorite npc in DS3. Great video and NO I will not be buying the guide. After watching your video...I'm good. Lol
Thanks dude! I’m glad you and the lady enjoyed. The guides are fun to have, but not the most useful thing with the internet pretty much making them obsolete. I just like the artwork!
@@AquaSloth Which in the series was your favorite? Mine will always be Demon's Souls. 2009 was the year
As many times as i have played this game, at 35:05 i just seen the sideways melted rock on the rightside pillar. Suggesting that that first flame is so superhot that it blasted melted rock across the pillar and it stuck...thats cool.
Yeah dude, it’s a neat little detail! I’ve always loved all the tiny little things they added in the Kiln. The whole background and skybox goes fuckin crazy

Exodia bless
19:20 before Pontiff Sulyvahn the jailers are my favorite soul grinding spot if you kill them all it’s about 7k but it takes like 3 minutes
I just hate the curse shit that they do with their lanterns
I literally did not want to play anything today. Now that it's almost bedtime... I need to do a sl1 DS3 run.
Lmaooo, yeah just crank out a quick sl1 before bed. No problem!
Did you know the pling pling plong was made with only white keys on the piano
I did not! Thank you for sharing your insider knowledge
YYYYEEEEAAHHHHH BABYYYY
Its interesting that the guide has you take tue smoldering lake that way. The "intended" path that no one takes is to start going towards the door then turn back once the worm appears and then have the floor get hit to reveal the staircase to the ruins. Explore that and you end at the boss gate...but literally no one does that, because why would you?
Wait yeah, that’s a good point. I guess maybe just because it’s less direct..? I’m not totally sure!
I played DS3 mostly blindly my first time, and I had no idea that Anri and Horace could be summoned for Deacons of the Deep. Heck, I didn’t even know their were NPC summons at all for that boss fight. Was an easy one anyway, but interesting to know.
I didn’t know you could summon Sword Master for Vordt or Dancer, or that you could summon Eygon for Dragon Slayer Armor! I swear I learn something new every time I play it
@@AquaSloth holy shit it didn’t know that either. I didn’t even know you could summon Gael for Sister Friede because I played the DLCs in a messed up order. 😩
Interesting vid bud :D
I been playing on NG + 7, and the difficulty is extreme... levels are few nearly every boss can 2 shot u even with dmg resistant rings. Was curious to see how easy a NG would be after finishing that... had a little trouble on Vordt early in playthru as I hadn't levelled health yet but after that smooth sailing till Aldrich who took a few attempts, Pontiff, Dancer and the other 3 lords were all killed on 1st attempt as by this point I knew their moves too well and I been very tight with my levelling, basically just doing vigor and dex mainly. Now off to fight the one I was most interested in fighting... the Nameless king... only boss from my original playthru I never killed. Wasn't till NG + and some sneaky tactics till I got him. Well on my NG playthru the sellsword twin blades pancaked the King of the Storm and he was down in under a min. After the king was too simple. I knew his moves and although I took a couple of hits he wasn't hitting so hard that he could 1 or 2 shot me.. I also knew that the 1 time he got me low I simply had to range him so I could safely heal. Whole fight was over in 3 mins or less dead on attempt #1... couldn't believe it :D Currently working thru the DLC got the Wolf down and expecting Gael, Midir or maybe Friede could give me a problem.
Kinda embarrasing really throughout this playthru the boss I had to re-attempt the most was Vordt 😀😀
Don’t feel bad, I’ve been calling him “Index” this entire time too 😂
You’re not alone!
oh hell yeah brother
Hell yeah!
Wait what? I've always said Index Gundyr too. My whole world has been flipped upside down.
I think I said Index on stream once and my whole chat roasted the piss out of me
