#cobrakaiseason6 #cobrakai Why Mike Barnes is Unpredictable - ZĂĄbava
What's next for Mike Barnes?
As always, keep it civil
Of course, Mike Barnes has to team up with Johnny Lawrence during season 6 in the same manner that Johnny did with Chozen during season 5.
MIKE AND JOHNNY WILL BE THE STARSKY AND HUTCH OF COBRA KAI !!
@@kobrakitsch877 despite the Fact that they're both Bad Boys, the differences I notice in them is that Johnny Politically incorrect and hotheaded versus Mike who conducts himself in a professional Way until he loses his patience going into a Rage ( I relate to Mike personally).
@@kobrakitsch877 Why would Johnny go back to Cobra Kai? That doesn't make any sense.
@@danielmoung9098Read carefully.
I meant COBRA KAI THE SERIES and not necessarily Cobra Kai the dojo itself. Although there are existing fan theories which predict that the series finale will end with Johnny Lawrence somehow acquiring full ownership and control of the entire Cobra Kai franchise.
@@BumblebeeTuna8 I see your points.
Would this make Johnny and Mike
THE ODD COUPLE OF COBRA KAI ??
I think everyone was expecting him to be one of the new senseis that Silver was hiring but I'm actually really happy they had him turn things around and change đ
Not me. The first 2 teen villains from the original already reformed and sided with Daniel, its too damned predictable. He really should have been a major villain.
@@Zurround yeah but the only way the actor would come back is he was able to be a good guy look up the interview there's still a couple villains left that could remain villains for season 6
@@Diskode48 He also said he was open to being villainous if they were some layers.
@@Supremmo Yes I saw his interview. He was HOPING his character would turn good but he wanted back so bad that if he had been told that he would need to be a villain he would have gone along with that too. He even said that he wanted to have turned good in the military, the opposite of what happened to Kreese and Silver.
@@Zurround I mean I was disappointed at first ngl, but it makes sense that he'd be banned from karate after the third movie, and being taught to create with his hands instead of destroying was nice. Besides, they can still bring back Dennis and Snake!
Loved when he charged Chozen extra for the couch!
And he still bought the damn couch đ I hope Chozenâs back recovered because of it.
Tha was freaking hilarious đ€Ł
The look on his face when he said 2 GRAND!
He did jump his guys and attacked him. $800 was getting off easy.
@@vicshephard9231 yea I feel like he truly like the couch but part of it he also felt bad attacking Barnes and his guys. Plus shipping it back to Okinawa must be extra $$$
Mike definitely needs to stay a good guy. He's very appealing as one. I like how all the guys who were jerks and bullies as kids aren't bad anymore but the ones who were bad as adults back then still are. Because kids usually change. None of my high school "enemies" are enemies anymore. One of the guys I hated the most back then is now one of my best friends. Kids almost always grow out of that crap..
I loved the drunken Chemistry between him and Johnny, definitely Eagle Fang/Cobra Kai material.
They're Bad Dudes vs. Cobra Kai (a parody of Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja). I pay for that arcade cabinet, with Daniel and Chozen as unlockable characters if you beat the game.
I'd love to see Mike again and even more so he trains with the students. Mostly Tory I think would benefit from someone like Mike. Hell, he could get her a job too! Anything to help support her and her family to be honest. Even if he doesn't train the students, I'd like to see him develop a better relationship with Daniel. Fingers crossed to see him again in season 6!
I think Mike is just what Tory needs. Tory is a lot like young Mike where she was a ruthless fighter born from a rough life who was manipulated and used by Silver. Mike can become a sort of father figure to her and help her take control of her life and rage in a good way.
What if Mike adopts Tory and her brother? That would be a cool twist!
There is a theory that he is his dad lol
@@miralabualjadail4206 there are always rumors like that. Remember last year and everyone thought he was miguel's dad.
@@malachairasmussen4591 I thought Fredie Hernedez would be Miguelâs dad lol
Iâve been waiting for this video. I loved EVERYTHING they did with Mike Barnes this season. His appearance was the true definition of Short But Sweet.
He'll be back next season
Actually I thought they did him dirty. Mike gets knocked out by one blow yet Johnny takes a gang beating from all those karate masters then pulls superhuman strength out of nowhere & solos them all after seeing a pic of his baby?
@@SlashinatorZ Adrenaline. Read about the human brain. Thatâs why Johnny got up, because the brain was sending adrenaline throughout his body, so he said âFuck it, Imma beat up all these mofosâ
@@BearsNGym. so why didn't Mike's adrenaline let him take the blow?
@@SlashinatorZ yeah Mike got done dirty
I really liked that Silver still got to Barnes. Too predictible for allnthe rivals to be friendly. It still happens later but it was a very satisfying end to the season. It was surreal seeing the 4 of them working together to defeat Silver. Need to see Barnes with a more expanded role in Season 6.
I had this thought, Daniel went through what Mike is currently going through, a depression after nearly losing his family after his livelihood got put in jeopardy so maybe Daniel can be there for him emotionally during the transitionary period of regaining favor with his family. And to add another layer, Mike Barnes could be Lia Cabrera's Dad as a means to reintroduce her to the show, and to converge Kenny/Anthony's rival story have the love interest with an expanded role. Plus, Mike Barnes could have the opportunity to pay the good given to him forward to Kenny, because like him, he was also a lost and wayward teen. He could provide Kenny with some direction to bring him balance, for him it was was crafting, but for Kenny, it might be something else. Reigniting Kenny's love for creative hobbies like Dancing and games which Anthony might be able to use as a means to bond/compete over.
(Random Kenny thought, his Dad is a Soldier, what if following in his footsteps, joins an ROTC lke program leading to Kenny getting involved with something similar to Alpha Elite from the Next Karate Kid or at least a door way to bring any characters from that movie in)
@@JakeSmith-mq5dc How would she be his daughter?
I was glad that Mike, like Chozen, did reform, and was a good guy now too. That being even if I wouldn't have minded him being a villain at first though. I do wish he got more screen time in Season 5, considering you almost forgot he was a part of it until he came back at the very end, during the final episode, while also barely being seen during the battle with Terry Silver's fellow sensei's, who Johnny virtually had to take on alone. But I'm sure he'll soon get a bigger role like Chozen eventually did in the future. That being even if whatever may happen to the Cobra Kai dojo is totally up in the air, along with the fates of both Kreese, and Silver for that matter too.
I got the feeling in how much he got build up, that he got the Superman treatment(Aka in the Animated Justice League Series he got knocked out early in every fight by some circumstance, as to not overshadow the rest of the cast.)
@@Quasimodo-mq8tw Something like that, yeah. But he'll get his time to shine like Chozen did this past season I'm sure too. He was pretty much the last major legacy character left who we were anxiously awaiting to finally make a long awaited return, not counting anybody from The Next Karate Kid though!
Honestly, I expected everything that happened. Think about it: Johnny started teaching Cobra Kai and regretted it, Kreese re-joined Cobra Kai and changed nothing, Silver was trying to be a better man but got manipulated into his old ways. One former Cobra Kai had to be the matured adult or else things would have gotten a little monotonous. Besides, adding Kim Da-Eun gave a deeper insight into the origins of Cobra Kai, which we never saw before, and I think it was a very interesting storyline.
I met Sean Kannan over the summer of 2022.
Great down to earth person. His book, Way of the Cobra. Is worth the read.
I kind of knew they were gonna redeem Mike Barnes because it made the most sense
yeah but still not crazy what they did with him
I wish we had more Barnes fight scenes in the season
YES. And the ones we DID have were extremely brief.
im pretty sure he had a shoulder injury so he couldnt do much
@@bananabread5914 I would have never guessed.
@@bananabread5914 I thought it was a scheduling conflict with the soap opera he's in.
they dropped the ball with him honestly
Mike is definitely the toughest out of himself, Daniel, Chozen and Johnny imo.
Heâs so physically strong and relentless.
He has to come back for season 6 and beyond and we also need to find out why he was so volatile and aggressive in KK3.
Even if they do a backstory similar to Johnny but we need closure on that.
Would be great to see him have a proper fight against the other senseis and learn the students.
I absolutely thought Silver would bring him back as a henchman. When Silver said he'd bring a few friends to help out after sending Kreese to prison, I figured that's his introduction.
I couldn't be happier with the way they gave him a redemptive arc. The entire show is like one huge fan service, and I dig it.
As did the characters as well. These "friends" of Silver's probably gave Danny boy a little ptsd when he heard of it and tracked down Barnes personally. I like how Daniel is still so soft! Lol! Even after an these years, though by now he can take care of himself as we've seen. Then Chozen, then the more aggressive tougher Johnny and Barnes who is a beast!
Cobra Kai is a fan service and nostalgia fest, a love letter to the originals and its fans. I'm grateful for what they've done. Great written and directed series, that even attacks pc nonsense, has good action drama and humour, and emphasises family and the need of a good strong leading husband and father and its toxic negative effects if there isn't one around. Great show!
I honestly expected Barnes to be one of Silver's Senseis; but only till the 3rd of the season. That whole misunderstanding from Danny listening to his phone call felt like the director trolling the fans expectation of Barnes loyalty.
Yes that was good and funny also đ
Itâs amazing they were able to get all the actors that are still living to come back and play these roles.
And amazing how consistent and fluent this show is though there are many stories plots and twists. Weaving itself together into a smooth flowing show with the best cheese, frenemies, drama, suspense, jokes, action, and humour all to go along with it.
I would want to see him have a full fight scene that's not interrupted and I would think he could be a mentor to Tory maybe he can have words of wisdom for her and we can learn more about his past pre KK3
I hope Mike Barnes gets a bigger role in season 6
I was so happy with the change of Mike Barnes. I said from the beginning that he will be against Terry and I was right. He had too little screen time in my opinion but I get it, it was written wisely. I was so sad for him on the store and the problems with his wife. And not that Daniel is so good in fighting, but if he joined the raid they might have won easily. Chozen wouldn't get to a near death situation, and Johnny wouldn't be beaten to death because Daniel would have been there for helping him. Mike is fully redeemed by- Apologizing to Daniel and helping him, and in the raid which led by him he saved the lives of both Johnny and Chozen. I love it! I think he would further help the group. And Daniel might even give big orders of furnitures who worth big money, in order to help Mike earn money.
It was great to see a little we saw of the bond between Chozen and Mike Barnesđ
What I love is that three ppl who terrorised Daniel and tried to kill Daniel in the past. Are fighting for Daniel in the present. Johnny could've killed Daniel when he made Daniel flip of his bike down the hill. Chozen wanted to fight Daniel to the death. And used Daniels then girlfriend Kumiko to force Daniel to fight. Mike would've tossed Daniel and Jessica back down if Daniel refused to sign the tournament paper. That's what I've always believed. My favorite thing about Cobra Kai is they make ppl who grew up with the franchise see the legacy characters the bad guys in a new light. Even making us feel sympathy for Kreese. Even turning Daniel into a D bag to start the show. He eventually turned back into the Daniel we all know and love. Also slipping Daniel into the Mr. Miyagi role.
I thunk Mike is gonna Carry season 6 like how chozen carried season 5 and terry carried season 4
Of the redemption of Daniel's former tormentors Barnes was the funniest. Hope to see his furniture store restored in the next season.
Perhaps Mike Barnes has won the hardest tournament in the world so he'll be quite useful in season 6
Hope Chozenâs friends and Mikeâs friends help Daniel, Johnny, Chozen and Mike to take down cobra kai in season 6
Add in Johnny's buddies. I'd love to see that. Bobby saying a prayer before kicking ass. Lol
Hopefully season 6 will provide more of a backstory for Barnes ie: where he learnt karate, how come he was so good so young and where his family were during KK3.
U'm hoping Barnes is still a little edgy as a character and prone to being aggresive, intimidating, highly skilled but also compassionate at the same time.
Yeah even though in s5 he got very little screen time he still left a huge impact
Seeing all these former enemies become allies against a greater threat reminds me of Dragon Ball lol
Mike possibly mentoring Tory and/or Kenny teaching them how to use their anger
When Mike showed Daniel the piece of sycamore, Daniel should have said, "This is good wood. We can make shelves out of this stuff."
I really enjoyed Mike barnes this season I definitely would love to see more of him in season 6
Mike Barnes has a better change of hearts than Johnny Lawrence as adult. Mike was way worse bully than Johnny as teenager
I initially thought that he was secretly working for Silver. He pretended to be all good and all and that he did a proper 180.
Later to realise it was another trap set by Silver to drive the limo and bring Daniel, Johnny and Chozen to his house to get them beat up or maybe to beat them up in the middle of nowhere.
There was so much to cover and a lot of characters needed their time but holy hell they did not waste any moment that Mike was in, they were all brilliant.
Who knew Mike was just like Chozen in Season 3
I wish Daniel would have let those fights happen between Chozen & Barns Johnny & Barns like those are the match ups we want to see as fans!!
IKR?? But you know passive little Danny though.
Mike would've beaten Johnny and Dan, but not Chozen who's a master. Dan and John were only 2 time champs and only in the Valley. Mike came from a background in karate and was a seasoned amateur in the international rankings.
That's one step from world titles and the olymics. That dude was skilled fast strong and aggressive in his prime! Lawrence and LaRousso ain't shit compared to Barnes. But maybe with the pressure points Chozen taught, Daniel would stand a chance, maybe, if he didn't freeze and kept his cool and used focused strategy. But not toe to toe.
Also another thing that distinguishes Chozen from the rest is that they are learning American styled karate but Chozen knows Japanese style.. where it came from, so there'd be a difference. Japanese is better bc it's a tradition culture and lifestyle. American is just a sport with scoring rules restrictions and penalties, so actually watered down a bit for tournaments.
But that's not uncommon with martial arts in the West or East either. You have to be wary. In a real street fight or dangerous attack, most styles fail. Only if you combined wrestling judo jujitsu and kickboxing, which the mma does, that's a different story. You'd be bad ass!
Pretty sure it was an upper Mike was on based on Daniel's eye comment which would be a performance enhancer not an obstacle
He will be back for s6 they gotta share the love and money for all the cast
i wish mike was a villain that way we can get a johnny vs mike fight
Stryfe make more battle predictions really wanna see terry vs Mike
You want Terry to get killed I see.
Itâs like Christmas time when a new season comes out, god bless you with all these new videos youâre making my month incredible
It's more the reason why making animation and movies are tougher today than it was back then. Mainly, due to back then, you were on one or two projects. While today, some celebrities have multiple contracts and other projects to be on. Which is why I'd understand if certain characters aren't in a series and so on.
That being said, I did like Mike's relevance not just as fan-service but also that his character was a more "condensed" version of Daniel's arc in S5. Where we actually see Daniel's life spiral downward, Mike's life spiraled down after his furniture store burned down. Instead of having us watch the "same downward spiral", we skip ahead to the part where Mike hijacks their limo. I thought it was a funny twist because I thought it was Silver who hired someone to sabotage Dan, Cho, and Joh after their dojo successfully qualified for the Seikai Taikai. Just to turn out that it was Mike going on a revenge streak until Daniel defused it and told him that it was Silver's doing. Which, inadvertently, caused Mike to turn this into a "Karate Kid's Dude's Night Out" adventure. Seeing three former rivals team up against Terry Silver was definitely fan-service and most of us imagined them as their "younger counterparts" while they confronted Silver before the fight started. Sadly, that was the part I hoped Mike would participate longer in the fight. I also understand that Sean's prior injuries may have prevent him from doing longer fight scenes. It sucks, though. I really would have liked Mike take down some more of the top Senseis before being knocked out.
I do like the direction that Terry Silver was mainly the real villain to Daniel Larusso and Miyagi-Do. Having him fight Chozen and Daniel was more fitting. Especially, given with how S5 further fleshed out Chozen while paralleling him with Silver earlier on. Funny enough, this also shows Silver and Kreese's "surface-level" understanding of Miyagi-Do and why they lose to it. To them, they only see Miyagi-Do as this "defense only" form of Karate. Makes sense when Miyagi living a peaceful life trains Daniel to not only defend for himself, but, for others. While, under Sato, Chozen was taught both the offensive and defensive techniques of the Miyagi-Do. Because Miyagi himself showed mercy and used his abilities to humble his opponents, Silver and Kreese continue to misunderstand that Miyagi-Do is a lot deadlier than they thought until Silver was able to witness the "true version" through Chozen fighting. Silver still misunderstands this when mentioning how "Chozen is a real warrior" when, in fact, Chozen was trained in the true form of it. Chozen has demonstrated firsthand to Silver that he can kill you at any point when he took down the other Senseis. Silver should've realized that Miyagi himself has completely shown him and Kreese mercy those 30 years ago. Chozen being well-aware that he will kill when need be. I find it more poetic that Silver is defeated by two Miyagi-Do martial artist. I just always saw Silver as Daniel's "real" villain. Then, to be defeated by his own Quicksilver method. Not only did Daniel give Silver the middle finger by doing the Kata during the tournament in KK3, he defeats Silver with the Crane Kicked that Silver mocked 30 years ago as well.
If Cobra Kai is going to end, the least I would think is that it would have to be a final showdown between Johnny Lawrence and John Kreese. Mainly in that full circle way. After all, Johnny rebuilt Cobra Kai and it's fitting if he ends it by defeating the man that taught him it. There's also Kim. I think it's fitting if Mike assists as a dojo sensei, I find it fitting if he helps out the Eagle Fang students. I would find it "balancing", since Chozen helps teach more Miyagi-Do methods. My only issue with Eagle Fang is that there's not much of a defining stance with it, or "fine tuning". For example, some of the other students have a "personality" to their take. Like when Eli/Hawk takes a stance, he's more of a combination Miyagi and Cobra Kai. Meanwhile, Demitri takes an open palm stance but utilize his legs and foot action more. One major thing I like when Sam fights in serious fights is that she'll "stance switch". I get there's not much time to develop these amongst all the characters. I just feel that I want more personality. Not gonna lie, I always cracked a smile whenever I see Mike raise his arms to that chest level as if he's his 1989 self again. It just feels like every time I see Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai characters fight, it got that "swing for the fences" feel. Unless you're either Tori, Kenny, or Miguel. If anything, I do like that Kenny was kind of like a corrupted Daniel Larusso.
So far, I think Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai is more focused on just hitting the opponent and taking them out ASAP. I would feel that Mike could teach them how to off-balance their opponents with grapples and takedowns. Honestly, it's fitting for someone calling themselves "Eagles". If I was part of a dojo calling themselves "Eagles", I'd expect to learn some grabbing and takedown techniques. A "Snake" is more about striking and constricting movement. An "Eagle" can "grab and tear". Not sure why Johnny hasn't thought of that. I think Mike would benefit teaching stuff to the Eagle Fang students.
I'm making a prediction that Barnes is playing the insider for Silver. Silver probably set up everything for Barnes to seem good , with Barnes saving Daniel, just as Silver saver Daniel in the movie. It's all a ploy by Silver.
I was hoping he was part of silvers plan
The takedown he used in the raid on Silvers house in pro wrestling is called the sling blade, mainly used by Finn Balor. Was interested to see a running takedown as most of the characters seem to use judo techniques, at least the ones I've noticed.
Kickboxing boxing judo ju-jitsu and wrestling are the best styles to actually learn and wrap into one, and the only ones really that'd win in a street fight. The rest no. The way you're taught is tournament fighting, but survival fighting where there is no order, nor any rules regulations penalties violations and points.
Great analysis.
Barnes still is my favorite character in the Myagiverse.
The way he held his own against Chozen after not doing karate for years and just getting his leg injured leads me to believe he wouldâve destroyed him in his prime
Chozen also attacked him when he was off guard not expecting it. Had Daniel not been there to ease Tensions, I think Mike would've destroyed Chozen and Johnny.
Mike may have kept up with his training all those years.

didnt like Barnes in 3 but he was enjoyable here, hope to see him more in Cobra Kai
Barnes needs to join the boys as a sensei for the kids, and Julie might be next
mike is pretty GOATed if you think about it,he was able to go up against one of the elite senseis with ease but what makes this is impressive is that he is out of shape and is extremely rusty since he hasnt fought in years, that fight would have been alot easier if mike wasnt knocked out and if he was in prime condition he would be a top fighter for sure somewhere between daniel and johnny
Would of loved 2 see more of a fight between Johnny n Mike! Hv waited over 30 years thinkin abt who would win between the two. The way of the đđœ
I anticipate that Season 6 would have Mike on his way to rebuilding his furniture store and relationship with his wife via the Rembrandt painting he took from Silver.
With the extra money he has off the Rembrandt, Mike would gladly help Miyagi-Fang as a major sponsor/benefactor for their trip to The Sekai Taikai World Tournament (hopefully taking place outside of The Valley; Seoul, South Korea maybe?) in exchange for Daniel, Johnny, Chozen, and the kids' assistance (manpower) in rebuilding his furniture store.
"Karate's Bad Boy" would not be an official sensei for Miyagi-Fang but he can show Miguel, Robbie, Hawk, Demetri, Anthony, possibly Kenny, and the rest of the kids a thing or two about how utilizing and countering mind games is as vital as being physically strong and internally centered (basically, up their game in the trash talk department and stronghold their minds from other people's deceptions and said trash talk) which may give the gang a leg up when they get to The Sekai Taikai Tournament.
Here is hoping that a bottle episode will come to fruition, with The Miyagi-Fang kids hanging out somewhere (the amusement park, maybe?) and solidifying relationships, bonds, and/or new romance whilst the OG "Karate Kid(s)" of Daniel, Johnny, Chozen, Mike, and Julie, along with Amanda, Carmen, Ali, Jessica, Mike's wife, and maybe Daniel's cousin Louie, enjoy each other's company at a Japanese Steakhouse, sharing stories about their respective pasts and celebrating the life of Mr. Miyagi, before their trip to the tournament
Notice how hesitant he was to hit Jessica. I don't think he really wanted to do anything more than what Silver and him originally agreed on.
Ready for next season and more Mike barns
15:37 That was not a âZig-Zagâ it was a Tanahashi - Sling Blade.
Tanahashi and Pentagon say hello
It seems that every single one of Daniel's rivals find a way to better themselves with/without Daniel's help. I also hope Mike has his ban lifted (with the help of Daniel) and becomes another co-sensei for Miyagi-Fang.
It would be good to see an already redeemed character, unredeem themselves and then eventually redeem themselves once and for all. This would could us a little more to chew on rather than everyone just going from hero to villain from the movies to the series.
I wouldn't mind seeing a theory video on what we could see if the rumors of Julie returning for S6 as one of the Miyagi-Fang senseis for the Sekei Tenkei tournament are true especially how her fusion style of Miyagi-Do Karate and Changsha could bring something new to the table for the students to learn, and possibly be a much needed game-changer as Kim and whoever she picks as her co-sensei and her students won't be ready to face a style that is a fusion of Miyagi-Do Karate and a Chinese Martial Art along with the possibility of Julie fighting Kim and how Johnny will react to Julie in particular her Miyagi-Do Karate/Changsha style and eventually befriend her.
Somethings to the note the Cobra Kai writers did confirm two things concerning Julie the first being that she did meet and befriend Daniel at Mr. Miyagi's funeral prior to the start of the series, and that unlike Daniel and Johnny she actually kept up her martial arts training managing to balance it with her job as a Wildlife Vet that specializes in raptors/birds of prey.
Also it should be emphasized that Julie's return is that one return that can be ruined if the creators listen to a certain toxic branch of the fanbase. Basically the very vocal toxic branch of the fanbase that makes it clear that they hated Next Karate Kid wants Julie to come back in a villainous role or antagonistic role because they believe it will redeem what they see as a "dumpster fire pile of garbage that doesn't deserve to be considered canon" and a "hated lead character with no character growth." despite the fact there are a lot of fans who liked NKK and would love to see the film be given the respect and credit it does deserve and it's characters actually be portrayed properly should they return for Cobra Kai S6.
He was really freaking awesome on this season I loved his whole arc*
Awesome seeing Karateâs Bad Boy returning, finding a new leaf & got married. Glad Danielâs made peace with him & joining forces with Johnny & Chozen.
Bet later heâll rebuild his business đ„đđ» đ reconciling with his wife.
Missed opportunity with Mike Barnes. He should have been in the season more. During the fight scene at Silvers house he should have been fighting side by side with Johnny to make the fight more realistic. Apparently he had a shoulder injury which kept him from doing too many fight scenes.
The only complaint I have about Mike Barnes is that we didn't get more of him for season 5, would of been a lot more awesome .
Also played AJ Quartermaine on General Hospital.
Bad Boy of Karate has a mean sucker punch. Total bro moment with Johnny.
If Mike comes back for season 6, I think it could be revealed that his original sensei was Colonel Dugan. I think Dugan may have been trained alongside Silver and Kreese, even if he wasn't involved directly with Cobra Kai. That could also potentially open the door for Julie Pierce to come in, if Kreese calls Dugan for help. After all, Kreese will need someone to run his dojo's considering he likely has a warrant for his arrest and we don't know of anyone else he could really call on for that role (except, perhaps, his old sensei's granddaughter Kim Da-Eun). Idk. I think it fits, even if it may be far fetched...
Sensei Barnes :D 'strong like a table you must stand. Like two legs becoming four, your stance will be unshakeable.
I was happy that mike barnes is no longer one of the antagonist.. hope this continues.. anyway, he doesn't look like a bad boy now..
I wanna see a mike barns vs johnny fight that would be so sick
Mike is wild out of control wrecking ball
I wonder why they under-used Mike ? Was it because Sean Kanan was pulling double duty on that soap opera at the same time, and he had limited availability ?
It was abit dumb of the writers to have Barnes steal a Rembrandt. All Rembrandt's are registered. You've no chance of selling a stolen one.
Whatever, I just want to see alot more of Sean Kanan's Barnes in Season 6.
Gonna tell Mike he can't do something??
It probably was because he was busy with the bold and the beautiful
PLOT TWIST: Mike and Silver are in on it with each other.
First Silver tells Daniel he is not the only one with friends from the past, knowing that he will go find Mike.
Mike then bates them by tipping them off with âTerryâs Lawyerâ.
Terry blows up the fake furniture shop.
Sliver then uses Mike to lure them to his house thats armed with his Cobras!
Thus, Silver successfully tricking Daniel using Barns, the same way he did in Karate kid three.
It of course backfires when the kids break in at the same time, which wasnât part of the plan, but Mike Barns continues to be an undercover Cobra of Terry!
Will be useful for Silver next season.
Also he pretends to be knocked out. So Johnny would be alone but joins once he sees Johnny is winning so he doesnât suspect.
Please do a character analysis of Miguel again!
Did you guys know Kyler of Season one at the cafeteria that got beated up by Miguel was wearing an Aeropostale Jacket it was hilarious because I was wearing it
I could send pics for proof
Hope Barnes stays away from fighting. It was cool Chozen knew who he was from the magazine
How did Mr Miyagi know not to trust Terry Silver?
Now it makes more sense after Silver told Miyagi that his sensei is Kim Sun Young. If Chozen knew about the type of teacher that Master Kim was, then probably Miyagi already knew about his reputation as well and knew to be careful with Silver from the very beginning. There might've been history with Sato, Master Kim and Miyagi.

If Barnes did not get blindsided and knocked out early, that fight at Silverâs house would have been over much soonerâŠ
From there, only two possible endings could happen:
1. Silver fleeing his own home in his Ferrari (with Barnes, Chozen, and Johnny throwing rocks, bottles, and expensive decor from Silverâs mansion at the car).
2. Barnes, Chozen, and Johnny throwing Silver an old fashion boot-party, while trash talking and laughing the whole time they do it.
No. 2, the old style.. đ
But then again, old passy Danny would be freaking out and stopping all the fun.. the goodie two shoe party pooper.
đ
I am hoping that they don't do the usual changing of sides that Josh, John and Hayden have been traditionally known to pull through the series because I love his arc and his chemistry with Johnny and Daniel. However it could lead to Silver offering money to Mike to rebuild his furniture store in exchange for helping him train the Cobra Kai students for the big Tournament. Counter point to what I just said is Mike already knows and openly stated that Silver cannot be trusted so expect him to stay on the right side of the road. I hope at least.
Barnes can really fight.
If snake and Dennis return I hope they are evil it would be annoying if everyone from the film turns good
I think it would be a neat plot twist if Snake and Dennis ended up being the ones Silver ordered to burn Mike's store, and for Mike to find out and pulverize them for it in Season 6.
PLEASE, COBRA KAI, MAKE JULIE PIERCE AN EVIL VILLAINESS. đ
@@chazarcola7639 No! For several reasons 1: It's not what most fans want as most fans want to see Julie become one of the senseis for Miyagi-Fang for the Sekai Tekai and fight against Kim, 2: It would go against the Miyagiverse/Cobra Kai canon which states that she met and befriended Daniel at Mr. Miyagi's funeral and still holds true to Mr. Miyagi's lessons and principles, 3: It would mean her character regresses as her main character arc in Next Karate Kid was her going from angsty, immature brat to a respectable young woman one who happens to be good at martial arts and has a respect for all life, and seeing her regress to what is essentially a manipulative bratty villain as an adult who shows disregard and a contempt for Mr. Miyagi's teachings is something most fans don't want, and finally the writers confirmed that Tory's time as a villain in S3, and most of S4 is a look into what a villainous Julie would be like.
@@derrickhaggard
Most COBRA KAI viewers honestly don't want Julie Pierce to become part of the series anymore because she was the totally forgettable, lackluster and one dimensional young heroine of THE NEXT KARATE KID, a commercial flop and box office disaster that is considered by numerous fans as a major embarrassment to the Karate Kid franchise. If Hillary Swank reprises playing Julie Pierce as a duller and more boring adult version of her already tedious character in the series, it would be a pathetic step down for the two time Oscar winner of Boys Don't Cry and Million Dollar Baby.
I think it was a missed opportunity to have Daniel's and Mike's depressions not be a connecting point in some manner since both were them nearly losing their new found life purposes and families. Maybe Daniel can help support Mike emotionally as he gets back into his family's good graces next season.
A random thought. What if Lia Cabrera is Mike Barnes' daughter and the family took the Mother's last name? I know she didn't appear in Season 5, but Kenny and Anthony might get more screen time next season and therefor she could to and she could be reintroduced through a surprise connection to Mike, which could add another layer to both characters.
If his wife's behaving like that after this attack, then is she really any good????
Mike COULD get unbanned from not competing anymore just like how Johnny got Cobra Kai unbanned in Season 1.
Daniel LaRussoâs biggest weakness is he doesnât do a good job at keeping his composure, which leaves him vulnerable to attacks
My favorite Mike Barnes line. "I don't give a sh#t what he fights for. Im gonna knock his azz out, and then your next"
It looks more like Finn BĂĄlor's Swingblade than the Zig Zag to me.
The show implies that Silver did cause the fire , do any of you guys think it was somebody else ? When Daniel confronted him about it he kind of played it off so I'm not 100% sure .
I wished the fights with Chozen and Johnny lasted longer than a few seconds. Also, I disagree with Johnny being on the level of Mike and Chozen. Daniel stalemated Johnny three times and, so I think he is likely on Johnny's level. Chozen and Barnes should be a step up from them. Especially if you compare Chozen's fight with Silver against Johnny's and Daniel's (the first fight at least).
My Criticism about this Series is that they focus a lot on Miyagi Fang considering this Series is supposed to be focused on mainly Cobra Kai. That's like making a Drago Series having Balboa or Creed be the Center of attention when it should mainly be focused on Drago the way the Karate Kid was mainly focused on Miyagi Do.
The main subject in the series is Cobra Kai ..... You see where it started (s3). The future of Cobra Kai is tried to be expanded.... So how can you say its focus is not Cobra Kai. Above all. When you say Cobra Kai, Miyagi Daniel, johnyy are equally involved.even Barnes, silver, kreese returned.....
@@stephsunny you're not getting what I'm saying, the Karate Kid focused mainly on Miyagi Do while Cobra Kai spent more time focusing on Miyagi Do rather than Cobra Kai. They could've given it a different Name instead of implying that Cobra Kai is the main focus of the Series which it clearly isn't as it may as well be called Miyagi Do.
@@BumblebeeTuna8 well i disagree. But i get your point. If you see that the series it is your vision about that. For me the title Cobra Kai is the subject around the series. And it is Cobra Kai all in. The writers did a great thing with kreese silver in s3 with the war flashbacks. In s5 they even returned Kim yun and da eun. So the focus is to stop Cobra Kai. Ones that happens , the serie will come to an end.... I am sure ... To start a new plot with only Miyagi Fang is not possible. Only then i will agree with you. But hey Lets enjoy the fact we are able to see this happening... Who thought of that years ago
@@stephsunny well not exactly because Cobra Kai under Johnny was implied to be moral yet is immoral under Kreese despite the Fact that Johnny learned everything under him. It's hypocritical because Cobra Kai didn't get as much Screen time in the Karate Kid Series as Miyagi Do does in Cobra Kai. You can't name a Series something that's implied to focus on One Subject while diverting attention to the other. That's like having a Drago Series yet giving Balboa or Creed half of the Screen time in the Show when at most they should have maybe a quarter of the Screen time tops. At most when should She Miyagi Do only training and fighting Cobra Kai instead of seeing all of their personal Drama which should be mainly focused on Cobra Kai. Since they've made it clear that the whole Series has been about stopping Cobra Kai, they should've given it a different Name or called it Miyagi Do.
@@BumblebeeTuna8 okay. I still disagree. But no problem. Your point of view is totally respected
what happened to snake and dennis?
Mike was such a great inclusion to the series; I only wish we got more than see him get screwed over and drug-induced revenge. Hopefully next season has more of him.
It would make sense that if he joined Miyagi Fang in the future, that he would help teach the kids how to win tournaments on a national level.
I think mike will be a good sensei to all the kids that walked away from cobra kai in s5
What the writers did with Mike is vastly different than what I would have done. What would all of you think about this: Mike Barnes became one of the founding investors in UFC, cashes out about a year or 2 before the events of CK season 1 disappears and resurfaces with a dojo of his own that is more MMA based then the events in season 4 happen but, instead of the cops coming for Kresse it's Barnes and his students confronting Sliver and Kresse.
Barnes investing into and involved with the UFC (MMA), then having his own dojo based off this? Then when Daniel Johnny and Chozen track him down for his help, Mike and his students help take these two dojos down? That'll make a GOOD story. And it'll actually show us WHY and HOW these dudes are still able to duke it out 35 years later, out of their prime, when they hadn't trained conditioned nor competed in a great number of years. And how two villains in their 70s (according to the story, Kreece is 74, though Terry is a year older than Daniel- 60) are still able to kick some ass as well that damn old! But as for the four frenemies they're are all in their 50s! đ€đł
I want all the old rivals to becone senseis for Miyagi fang.
More so -Mike shouldâve been one of those proper dad like kinda guys with lots of kids and a dad bod- no suits just a polo tucked in a pair of large jeans. One of those guys whoâd say: â I used to do karate when I was a kidâ
The random hero nobody was asking and hoping but stole the show. I wish he had fight more, at least he did after waking up.
Silver is amazing at mind games, but when Johnny, Chozen and Mike Barnes invaded his house, the mind games don't work with people without a mind
I can imagine him having a son that's just as badass as him. He'll he'd probably be unstoppable against cobra kai never know.
