So first of thank you for that wonderful presentation
I just want to ask doesn't the Renal Vein Drain into the ascending abdominal vein and the hepatic venous system to deliver the toxins extracted by the nephrons and the Bowman's Capsule?
Because that's where the toxins are supposed to be cleaned and the RBCs Breakdown to Bile when the RBCs become toxic
    Thank You!

I feel like I'll never be a doctor... it's too much... but here's how the saying goes : "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right." Sad truth :')

Blood from the gut capillary beds is carried to the Liver by the Portal Vein so that all the nutrients, drugs, toxins, bacteria and anything else you drop down your cake hole can be processed by the Liver.
Coming back out of the liver, blood is carried in the Hepatic vein(s), which are intra-hepatic for the most part, and passes into the IVC.
Without this system, the composition of your systemic circulation would vary wildly depending on what and when you ingest.

So, this might be a nit-picky question....But does the SMV lie Lateral to the SMA? It's hard to tell because of how close they both are to the midline.
    Thanks!
