Well the academic determination is that the various books of the NT were written between 20 and 90 years after the death of Jesus by anonymous authors educated in koine Greek.
The only part of the NT written by a known author are the Pauline Epistles which come between 20 and 40 years later.

The books were written in the lifetime of the eye witnesses by the eyewitnesses. If you would like proof we can have that convo again but last time you deleted your post when proven wrong.
Creeds existed immediately after Jesus was resurrected. Most ppl did not have books as we have today but the message was preserved in letters from the people who knew Jesus and saw for themselves.....and died for Him

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and God head, so that they are without excuse, because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened." My open mindedness probably varies from topic to topic to be fair. Ex: there is no openness to the idea that the Chiefs get “all the calls” or are “favored by the refs”. All that to say I had a direct intervention from God that brought me an agnostic directly to my knees. I would be happy to record my testimony if you have interest. Ultimately, I came down with an illness that made it impossible to have kids and potentially would kill me. It caused me to have suicidal thoughts as I knew I had wanted children since I was 12 and my oldest nephew was born. The rest of my story is better in video form.
We all have different journeys towards what we deem to be the truth. I would say when it comes to finding Christ it’s a lot like searching for a whale, and if you only search on land you will never find one. If you really want to see if God is real you will need to open your heart to the possibility and attend a good church. Unfortunately as I am sure you may ask what designates a good church, there are many but also some that are bad. Bad churches are one of the most common reasons I find that people leave the faith. Generally speaking it has a fair amount to do with the congregation and pastor(s).
If you take nothing else from this, read “The Case for Christ”. It was written by an Atheist from an Atheist’s perspective. I wish you nothing but the best truly.

      Ill try to explain why.
      1. This request of personal attendance by God to our questions (of many atheists and Christians alike) is based in ignorance and ego.
      2. Flesh and Divine do not mix. Why? Because sin gets burned up in the presence of the Holiest God. The closer you are to God, the more urgent and important it is to deal with one's own sin, before God deals with it.
      3. That's why Jesus Christ is considered necessary, because according to the Bible, God saw that humanity is incapable of keeping the requirements of the laws of the God King.
      4. Jesus Christ is God, in human form, conceived in Mary, and birthed as a huMan. Sinless. Without the corruption of the first man, and continued sinless until His physical death. He's the ONLY human that can stand fully before God and not perish from the overwhelming Holiness emanating from God's very Being.
      Think of it this way.
A steel girder that is weak, or has any rust in it, is not suitable to carry the weight of a skyscraper. It is not fit for purpose.
Sin is like rust and corruption.
      Jesus has no sin.
Jesus can carry the weight and burden of The Holy God.
If you want your questions answered, I invite you to stand on or under Jesus. Join the family. He's the One who can, and will, give the answers we seek.

I commend this young man for having the courage to ask this question. He was polite, patient and respectful. And, I love the moment of truth when Frank asked if he would believe if the resurrection is true. I pray he finds the answers I believe his heart is seeking.
And, if perhaps you are reading this, you may enjoy the CZcams channel called Truth is Christ. He shows beautiful mathematical patterns in the King James Bible that point to God being the only possible author. God bless you on your faith journey.

God bless you Dr. Turek for continuing to put your heart and soul into this and really taking the time with each student. You clearly have a gift. I don't think the average person has any idea how recent the dating rally is, or the overwhelming amount of manusctipt, archeological and other evidence exists pointing to the resurrection.

@kinggenius930 I have studied this topic extensively for nearly 40 years now. I have not found ONE _evidentiary fact_ that suggests the historicity of Jesus, much less the supposed ministry, trial, crucifixion, or resurrection of Christ.
The supposed sources are from Cornelius Tacitus, Gaius Suetonius, Pliney the Younger, Mara Bar Sarpian, Flavius Josephus, and a few others. NONE of these speak authentically or directly to the historicity of Jesus.

Great explanation. There is reason to consider that the gospels were written even closer to Christ’s death. The epistles of Peter, James alone not counting John who was the only apostle to die of old age, could clearly prove eyewitness accounts of those closest to Jesus.

Much more interesting is when biblical scholars fact check the assertions made by frank and many other apologists about the bible.
It's very eye opening to listen to someone who Actually knows what they're talking About when it comes to the Bible rather than listen to someone like Frank push a narrative and a conclusion onto people As if his very livelihood depended on them believing him.
One of my favorite frank lies is the lies he tells about the condoning of slavery in the bible. Watching him cherry pick verses that don't actually command people not to own slaves while ignoring verses that specifically lay out the rules for which slaves you may pass to your children because they are your property and which ( The chosen ones) You must let go after six or seven years.

But that is not the case with me. I was a 'born-again' evangelical Christian for eight years, and I came to understand there is no credible evidence either for the reality of the Christian god or for the historicity of Jesus.
I am now an atheist. I define my position as to suspend any acknowledgment as to the reality of any particular god until sufficient credible evidence is presented. I attest that it is natural, rational, and even prudent to be skeptical of unsubstantiated claims, especially extraordinary ones.
      Can you respect my position?
