You said, everyone (except muslim) believe jesus was crucified. Where is the evidence for such belief? The bible? But the bible is authored by anonymous men; this questions the bible as the evidence.
You said, muslim belief is based on the quran. Yes, the quran is the verbatim word of god; infallible, no errors nor discrepancies and perfect (check this out for yourself).
And, you said, the quran say that jesus was substituted by someone else. No, the quran does not say that (check it out for yourself). This substitution theory was originated by a christian theologian way before the quran was revealed.

It is known in the Old Testament that life is in the blood. The flesh is the Word.
"Eat my flesh and drink my blood" is internalising the word of God and partaking of the life of Christ. The Old Testament already gives us the answers to this.

No, Jesus was not speaking symbolically. He meant literally. The early Church fathers proove this is how it was understood and your version of it isn't true.

    • @RationalJJ
      @RationalJJ Před měsícem +6

@@dman7668 If you are referring to John ch 6, Jesus was not speaking literally. He was addressing a crowd who had followed him for food after they had witnessed and partook in His miracle of feeding the multitude with 5 loaves and 2 fishes.. They were following Him for carnal needs and they were unbelievers. His words in that context meant exactly what @Jesse-ig8mm said. The words were meant to stop them from following Him just to see miracles and eat free food.

    • @dman7668
      @dman7668 Před měsícem +1

@@RationalJJ No. That is incorrect. Jesus did not say something to them to get them to stop following him. When he says to the people that they must eat his body and drink his blood he is direct about it. The Bible then tells us they say "This is a hard saying, who can accept it?" Jesus does not then correct their understanding of what he meant. They understood him and many departed him over this saying.
Jesus did not want to loose anyone. The Apostles understood that there was no where else to go but Jesus, and they did not understand really either but they trusted in him. Also, the early Church never interpreted it this way, they always understood they must eat and drink his body and blood in the form of the sacrament.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The words that Jesus speaks, are life..That is how He is the bread of life.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
From vs 66, it is evident that Jesus spoke cryptically to stop the carnal bread seekers from following Him. Had His intention been about not losing anyone, He would not have confused them there and that point with the hard saying...
You seem to confuse this passage with the Lords table that was ordained for believers, not carnal miracle seekers.. The Lords table is a solemn remembrance ceremony. Partaking in it will not save you. The scripture does not teach that. To the contrary, if you partake without following Jesus's teachings, you will be damned.

    • @justindesouza977
      @justindesouza977 Před měsícem

@@RationalJJ so ur theory is that Jesus was willing to stop carnal bread seekers from following him, instead of calling them out and bringing them to the light? Such behaviour is inconsistent with Jesus throughout the Gospels. When the many disciples thought he was speaking literally, he doesn't clarify any symbolism, but instead, insists on the literal interpretation.
Jesus being the Bread of Life is in context to the Manna of the Old Covenant (which Jesus references in John 6 btw).
And how do you interpret The Last Supper? A remembrance ceremony doesn't explain why he calls the bread His Body, and the wine, His Blood.
      .
      .
"The Lords table is a solemn remembrance ceremony. Partaking in it will not save you. The scripture does not teach that. To the contrary, if you partake without following Jesus's teachings, you will be damned."

No. Jesus never said that. In John 6 his disciples asked him about eating his flesh and blood. All the fair-weather folowers left him because he said thus... and he asked if the disciples were leaving also. He tells them specifically that the words he spoke are "spirit and they are life".
So Jesus, when pressed, clearly tells his disciples these are metaphors. He is also THE WORD in the same sense that He is the BREAD OF LIFE. He isn't food, but His Word is SPIRITUAL FOOD for life. He is the word and should be CONSUMED.

I am a former catholic. The catholic church CONVENIENTLY forgets what Jesus says in John 6:63.
They also CONVENIENTLY forget when Jesus says to call No teacher or priest as "Father".
Catholicism adds to the scriptures about Mary being the "mother of God". She isn't. She is the HUMAN parent of the human Jesus. God is the GOD parent of the God Jesus. God only begets God who is fully God. The understand the trinity fully. They do not understand that Mary is not a deity nor is she a more special Saint.
Remember that God's Son cannot be any less God than God the Father. God clearly states there is one God. JESUS CLEARLY says "I and the Father are ONE " and further states "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father"! He is clearly talking divinity here.
Some religions foolishly teach jesus is an angel who became god or a man who became god. God clearly dispels this myth when He himself declared there is but ONE GOD and it is Him! Jesus is our Saviour because God alone is our Saviour. The catholics get this right.
However Catholicism teaches people to pray to dead people against scriptures. It says not to communicate with the dead but to pray to GOD...never a saint!

The miracle Jesus performed with 5 loaves and 2 fish at the beginning of John chapter 6 is essential to understanding what He meant by "eat my flesh and drink my blood." Jesus fed five thousand men and women near the sea of Galilee. A small of crowd of people followed Jesus to Capernaum the next day. They were looking for another meal, but Jesus knew their hearts. So they asked for a sign. Drawing from tradition the crowd said Moses provided manna in the desert as a sign. But Jesus explained it was God who gave them bread not Moses. Jesus told them He was the living bread that had come down from heaven. And Jesus started to speak in metaphors. (John 6:35) He said, "I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never go hungry." But the crowd was confused by this language. The crowd could not understand how a carpenter from a small town could say that he comes from heaven. Then Jesus went on to say that "unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:58) Jesus is using metaphorical language as a way to tell these people that He is the way to eternal life. Many were disturbed by the words of Jesus and walked away. How ironic that today people still refuse to believe that Jesus is only way that leads to eternal life.

Luke chapter 22 verse 19-20: And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
See, Jesus was still sitting with them there and he was not giving them His literal blood nor body to eat or drink. That, just as you said, would have been a contradiction. It all boils down to an exchange of lives the entire crucifixion of Jesus. The rebellion of man was based off of flesh, and the "death" that resulted was stored in the blood (for the life of the flesh is in the blood - Lev 17:11)! It therefore follows that Jesus had to exchange both his flesh and his blood in place of ours. That is the basis of the communion of bread and wine. Interestingly, no other religion that conducts a communion with bread and wine has as grounded an explanation for why they do it. The same applies to the virgin birth which in Christianity supplies proof of Christ's sinlessness because a virgin birth means that he circumvented the Adamic stain established at conception had a man (in this case, Joseph) been involved. No other religion claiming to have a saviour with virgin birth can ground their claim in similar fashion.

As for why we are called to do it, we are to abide in him and him in us; he that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit-it has to do with those sorts of biblical concepts. Sura 4:157 and for boasting, “We killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” But they neither killed nor crucified him-it was only made to appear so. Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever-only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him.
The footnote says: The popular belief among Muslims is that a conspiracy was made to kill Jesus, Allah made the main culprit who betrayed Jesus look exactly like Jesus, then he was crucified in Jesus’ place. Jesus was raised safe and sound to the heavens. Muslims also believe in the second coming of Jesus (ﷺ).
Notice that the verse itself *does not* say Jesus was not killed, it says "they killed him not". This can be read in a sense that Christians can agree with and does not deny the Quran. Namely, that is was not the people that killed Jesus, but rather Jesus Who laid down His life voluntarily. I do not mean this as a conceding to the Quran, but as a means to enable the preaching of the Gospel to Muslims, who need the Lord Christ as much as any of us do.

      ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ ‭
This implies that it saddens God to see someone in hell. He does not delight in the destruction of anyone.
      2) God doesn’t send you to hell, but let’s you have separation from Him. Like the quote “if you love me, you’ll leave me alone,” God will not force you to love him. Hell is described as being separated from God.

Jews have always had a practice known as the rabbinic traditions where a few professionals are trained up to do the work of transferring, translating, recording and preserving scripture. There's also that which we call oral traditions meaning that it had to be a thought first or something stored in one's memories before it was put into writing.
Get this, the Bible was written FOR us and not TO us, meaning there was an immediate audience that the authors were addressing people who had either heard, witnessed or known someone who'd witnessed the accounts of Jesus. With this in mind, there are people mentioned real time people who had families, important people, places, events etc all the markers that make up the accounts of an eyewitness.
My question to you is this then, do you have documents in antiquity denying what was being claimed by the followers of Jesus, people recanting their testimonies documents that are almost at the same time of Jesus' Gospels?
Do we have people denying that fir example, there was no census, no crucifixion, that there was no day that Jesus went to the temple and tore down the money maker stands, that there were no person healed in the pool of Bethesda?
If the Bible was a fabrication, then the fabricators would have had to wait for every person mentioned by name in the Gospel accounts and their families to die, not only these but also the Apostles and their relatives, all the enemies of Jesus and the church, all the 5000 people He once fed to dies with their relatives, all the members of the Sanhedrin including the High Priest to die and their relatives in order to make sure that there would be no one to dispute their claims. In my opinion I think this would have taken more than 80yrs.
Do me a favour go and do your little search in history and uncover documents claiming that the people apart from His followers never encountered Jesus then I will believe you.
Finally today you know of stories concerning a relative maybe a great grandfather you never met who died a long time ago. Does this mean if you were to tell us these stories passed down to you by your father, uncles or aunts we should dismiss you just because you were not an eye witness? Stories that have been collaborated by more than one person? Even if you are separated from the actual person by 40yrs?
      Use your logic!

@@kinggenius930 Gospel according to Matthew, Gospel according to Mark, Gospel according to Luke and Gospel according to John.
You could either interpret the term "according to" as "this is what Matthew actually wrote" or this is what was actually passed down to us by Matthew, either way Matthew was involved.
Also take note of the fact that the Gospel of Luke is an investigative work commissioned by one Theophilus. What were the findings? That indeed what was passed down to him [Theophilus] were the actual accounts of what truly happened.
It's funny how when it comes to the Gospel time is treated as an enemy in fact it should be the reason why we should trust the authenticity of the Gospels. By using the objection of the first respondent where he/she claims the gospels were written 80yrs after the fact this should actually be one of the reason to put your faith in the Gospels, why?
Think of it this way, by the time 80yrs had elapsed all the first hand witnesses of Jesus Christ had dispersed, where to? To different cities, locations, regions, countries and the like. Meaning that none of them could have been able to copy from the other or refer to the other person's work also there was no innovation of mobile phones where they could call each each other and make clarifications, so each had to either narrate/write from memory. However when it came to compiling the New Testament so that we may have it as it is day, these accounts collaborated each other, with more or less details depending on what exactly the person could remember. Collaboration was one of the criteria used to compile the New Testament, that despite the time difference the distance, death of some of the first hand witnesses the accounts remained the same.
I will use this example to bring home the point more clearly. I know your father or mother have once given you stories about your grandfather of great grandfather a man you've never met. Assuming they had siblings who grew up with them in the same household. Some of the stories they have told you are collaborated by your uncles and aunts with finer or less fine details. They might have been separated by years, maybe your Great grandfather died 50 or 60 years ago. However we have people who can collaborate accurate accounts of his life.
Does this mean that if you were to write a biography about him, it won't be authentic just because you were not an eyewitness? Infact the very reason as to why your story is authentic is because we have different versions of different people who have encountered the same person but seem to say the same thing about him, either he was kind, gentle, tough and this helps you form a mentle picture of him. Either there was a time he took them for a vacation, during Christmas of the year 1985, there was a neighbor whom he used to visit every day. My point is you cannot get such fine details of a person's life, his day to day footprint, people, places and events he visited if you not an eyewitness or you are not getting it from an eyewitness. It would be impossible to fabricate an almost day by day life of a person for an year let alone 3.5 years.
      Just apply logic.

    Aal-e-Imran 3:65
O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?
    Al-Ma'idah 5:46
And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.
✓ Allah gave Jesus the gospel which was before him?
    Al-Ma'idah 5:47
And let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient.
✓ Don’t follow the gospel and you are disobedient.
    Al-Ma'idah 5:66
And if only they upheld [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to them from their Lord, they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them are a moderate community, but many of them - evil is that which they do.
✓ So the injeel is corrupt or not?
    Al-Ma'idah 5:68
Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.
✓ The Injeel is the standard?
    ✓ Ruh-il-Qudus (the Holy Spirit)
    Al-Ma'idah 5:110
[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic."
    ✓ The Holy Spirit again?!?!
    Al-Baqarah 2:87
And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed.
    Al-A'raf 7:157
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
    At-Taubah 9:111
Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.
    Al-Fath 48:29
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
    Al-Hadid 57:27
Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah . But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

I will provide you the true interpretation of that passage sura 157and it's said, ‘We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of God.’ (They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, though it was made to appear like that to them; those that disagreed about him are full of doubt, with no knowledge to follow, only supposition: they certainly did not kill him-
This is one of the most misinterpreted passages from the quran.. MANY MUSLIM scholars have come to understand the original writings of the passage have been corrupted in there interpretations (yes the quran is corrupted) and have come to accept the TRUE meaning of this passage.
Simply put! It means this. "You (jews) never could actually KILL Jesus but it only appeared to you that you did(Not a BS substitutution) .. YOU COULD NEVER KILL JESUS ETERNAL SPIRIT BECAUSE HE IS GOD!! HOW COULD YOU EVER TRULY CRUCIFY THE ALMIGHTY ONE BECAUSE HE IS ETERNAL!!! You THINK you have ended JESUS on that Cross but you could never ACTUALLY DO THAT because you could only kill and crucify His flesh but His EVERLASTING FORM CAN NEVER BE KILLED. His spirt and Soul continue on!! YOU CANT CRUCIFY THE ETERNAL GOD YOU FOOLS IT HAS ONLY APPEARED TO YOU THAT WAY!!
NOT A FLIPPING RIDICULOUS SUBSTITUTE!! What a fake e mockery that is... nice try satan
This passage has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with some substitution and shame on those who have deceived so many people for preaching such a false message!!
This is an ALLITERATION style speech or even an analogy.. it's supposed to be clear to the reader that it assumes YOU ALREADY KNOW. Jesus is God and Eternal and really is arguing on JESUS BEHALF! it's point is that you could never take out Jesus BECAUSE HE IS THE ETERNAL GOD...is that not obvious people????
This sura is CLEARLY and now REPORTED BY MUSLIM SCHOLARS TO BE A COMPLETELY FABRICATED INTERPRETATION HAS BEEN PROVEN FALSE! It has been made up by the false teachers and completely taken out of context. Do some research and you will see this to be true of even the Muslims teach this. Seek out the Lord for real people.. dig for the TRUTH!! If islam was true i would be a Muslim but I have done my digging and it is NOT true, though it still can contain SOME truth, as every good lie has some truth! Long before islam Jesus stood as King and God and long after He will still be the Same.. THE ALMIGHTY GOD.
Millions of Muslims are leaving islam because they have started digging and found that they WILL COME UNDER THE JUDGMENT(by Jesus actually, and who is the only true Judge but God... yeah exactly).. they don't want JUDGMENT BUT SALVATION!! 🙌🙌✝️🙌🙌 Jesus already took upon that judgment FOR YOU AND US ALL on that CROSS!! He welcomes you into His Heavenly Kingdom as LORD AND fellow HEIR ..
what a disgraceful thing to try and steal this precious suffering and selfless act from God The Lord Jesus on the Cross such as this MISINTERPRETED CORRUPT teaching Islam has adopted.. I'm glad Some Prominent muslim scholars are converting to the proper interpretation of this... Jesus DIED for you and ROSE for you and SHOWED HIMSELF FOR 4O days after for YOU! And had the WOUNDS TO PROVE IT!
    Romans 10:9-11
9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved
Be saved my fellow ❤ Jesus wants you and your fellows to escape judgment. He really is The Lord. Amen

Jesus Christ did not instruct anyone to eat his flesh and drink his blood.
Jesus Christ was a perfect Jew, who completed the Law.
He did not abolish the Law like Christians believe. He completed it (meaning, we are eternally bound to it).
