    You speak 90% correct. practice the word ng, -ng as the connector, and word with consecutive vowels like "Maaalala mo pa ba?" It's not read as "MAAA" its "MA/A/A/LA/LA mo pa ba?" Which means "will you ever remember?"

    We usually use Tag- lish (Tagalog/English) it's so convenient to use.. if you don't know the exact words in Tagalog use English words to add on your sentences..

    You’re so cute learning in speaking Tagalog. You will become famous in the Philippines when you go their because Filipino people loves foreigners regardless of color. They treat with Kindness and Respect. In the Philippines Staring at someone isn’t rude. They just eager and interested to know about you and want to make friend with you by staring or looking at. It’s pleasant to ears when a foreigner speaks Tagalog.❤

    It is not common to ask for forgiveness by saying “patawarin mo ako” in Tagalog. Nowadays, we only say sorry po. What Erica is teaching you is too formal. Filipinos are used to combine english and tagalog in every conversation. It is seldom that we say magandang umaga po. We always say good morning po. We usually converse in informal tagalog, not as formal as Erica is teaching in this video.

    • @dannyluv78
      @dannyluv78 Před 2 měsíci +5

      Erica was teaching Tagalog. That's the context. Sorry and good morning are English words.

    • @teresitasuiza9276
      @teresitasuiza9276 Před 2 měsíci +4

      @@dannyluv78
      Yes and I am just saying that nowadays, we do not usually say those words often because taglish is how we usually converse nowadays.

    • @artesiningart4961
      @artesiningart4961 Před 2 měsíci +2

      But those ("Sorry po!" and "Good morning po!") are technically already not in Filipino nor in Tagalog that are usually and commonly taught to us Filipinos and even to non-Filipinos, which is usually and commonly a more or the official, academic or educational, literary, formal and/or national and standard or standardized and codified form, dialect, version, variety or variant of Filipino and/or Tagalog that doesn't mix in a lot of English words, phrases, clauses, sentences, expressions, idioms, etc., and those ("Sorry po!" and "Good morning po!") are technically already in Taglish or Englog language code-switching and code-mixing between English and Filipino and/or Tagalog.
      He can just learn Taglish or Englog informally when he's already in the Philippines, or when he communicates with any of us by any other means or ways even if or while he's not in the Philippines, which is how we Filipinos usually and commonly learn how to communicate in Taglish or Englog, and that is through informal language education and acquisition that doesn't need to be learned from an educational video about the Filipino language (the national language, one of the two official languages, and the national lingua franca or national common language of the Philippines and of most Filipinos and some non-Filipinos, which is basically and practically the Tagalog language with a few to some influences and contributions from the other languages of the Philippines and some foreign languages that formerly, newly or continously influences and contributes to the Filipino language itself and the other languages of the Philippines, which includes the Tagalog language) like the video from FilipinoPod101, or about the Tagalog language (the native, indigenous or autochthonous, ethnic or ethnolinguistic, regional, local and official auxiliary language that makes up, composes or comprises most to almost all of the Filipino language).
      Also, he's technically learning the Filipino language from the video of FilipinoPod101, not Taglish or Englog and also technically not Tagalog.
      Another also, I didn't comment this comment to tell you that you're entirely wrong, in my opinion. Your comment is mostly right, in my opinion. It's just that I just comment this to add and share info that I know based on your comment, to clear some things up from or about your comment, and to share my opinions on or about and based on your comment. Again, this comment are just my opinions and just based on what I know.

    You're doing well actually. Your pronunciation and accent is so good!❤️ Just take it lightly, Filipino words are just pronounced the way it is written 🥰. A lot of the phrases taught by the Girl in the video are actually too formal and are rarely used or none at all like "Ikinagagalak ko po kayong makilala"- which means nice to meet you- This is found only in books, movies, series or Historical film but not in the modern times. And for daily use the simplest phrases are used by Filipinos 👍 you can learn the formal easier if you start with the informal👍

    Tagalog has words that run fast but most are slow phased, some words are identically spelled but changes meaning on how its pronounced, a short line is indicated above the vowel or so to indicate if the word or part of it is to be said with rising intonation or falling intonation. Like the word "Gabi", in 11:17 when you mentioned the word in Taglog its a leafy plant. Gabi as she pronounced is the word for evening / night

  • @ZeitloseEinsicht
    @ZeitloseEinsicht Před 2 měsíci +1

    Killin it, man lol. Ngl using "Kinagagalak kitang makilala" in regular convo would sound a bit weird unless you're from the 60s/ 70s but it would still be impressive to hear it from someone not Filipino. They would really appreciate your efforts and would def put smiles in their faces. Everyone in the comment section is already finding it amazing that you're trying, man. Imagine if you actually start using them when you're already in the country. Good work, Gabriel. 🔥🔥🔥
    N.B. It's somewhat useless to learn Tagalog numbers since 90 percent of FIlipinos don't really use them. They use English. Focus on learning conversational Tagalog and street slangs, that'll blow their minds lol.

    I always tip my hat to those who are learning different languages for i completely know how gargantuan it is to aquire a language that are ridiculously different from your native language.
    I've been acquiring English for almost 3 years now, and i ain't gon lie it isn't straight forward, not to mentiond i ain't got no one to talk to using this language, but over the course of a certain amount of time, I've managed to let's say conversationally fluent.. And I would say throughout my learning journey, acquiring things that you're passionate about is quite satisfying tho difficulties are inevitable.
    Anyways thank you so much for this video, this really made my day.

    the reason why people say the full name is the build of getting to know, it's a relationship you wanna have more of formal way not the casual one. It's very important because for many reasons like security, personal relationship and Introducing you to other people if ever. if a father ask her daughter who is she with, they'll never say, Gabriel? Look who is he? It most be the whole name so the father trust her daughters word, plus there are many gabriel in the world, it's better to be more specific.

    The best way to learn niyo language is not by learning whole sentence but by reading the singular word fluently. then when making sentences just mimic filipino accent like a mockery and you'll pick it up cuase you conciously copy the accent. The mimic technique is good when used in mimicking sentences.
