Spanish is the closest language to Filipinos because we have a lot of vocabulary. We also have English which has many words similar to Spanish.
After that, Italian because it’s close to Spanish and a bit to English. Then French. Dutch is close to English. Then German.
Tagalog and other Filipino languages are close to Indonesian and Malaysian.
So Filipinos have a natural advantage to learning languages.

Portuguese Navigator Ferdinand Magellan(Iberian Jew descents), BEFORE HE STEPPED THE LAND OF OPHIR, the Ophirian already Speaks “sixteen languages,” which included the Arabic language(since 14th century during Arabic Traders), Old Malay/Javanese languages (12th - 13th century during Majapahit Empire), & HEBREW LANGUAGE(since King Solomon Era 900 BC).
And Ferdinand Magellan he found the Native Islanders(Ophirian) had Original SIXTEEN “SCRIPTS” DIFFERENT LANGUAGES USED by the Ophirian(Filipinos) at the time of Spanish Discovery of the Philippines(Ophir).
And do you know our Tagalog Language had “Obscure Hebrew Language” for over 1,000 words & phrases using those Tagalog speakers? And mixture of Sanskrit language for 300 words & phrases our common usage & Old Malay/Javanese languages - Old Javanese or KAWI (lit. ‘poet’) is oldest attested phase of the Javanese language.
KAWI in Javanese language means POET/Javanese Scripts. - WIKA in Tagalog means Language.😮😮😮❤

Sorry, like Kapampangan, Bisaya/Cebuano is also a language. Dialects are varieties of a language like the different varieties of Kapampangan in Macabebe, San Fernando, and Angeles City. Speakers from these municipalities have mutual intelligibility. The same is not true with speakers of Tagalog and Ilocano because these two are distinct languages. Proud, AFAM(pangan).

Starting with tagalog you will have a lot of base as a polyglot.
Languages similar to tagalog: japanese speakes syllabic Ay-shi-te-ru-yo
    american loan words and grammar "Ang(The) salita(word) ay(is) sobrang(very) matalinghaga(profound)"
Spanish, some european and other latin languages, I mean 😂
Derivative words from Malay and Bahasa since we were Malay-Islamic during precolonial era.

    • @user-ny9wf9zh2j
      @user-ny9wf9zh2j Před 5 měsíci

SOBRA(NG) is not Tagalog Words, it’s Spanish word: “de sobra” - in English meaning “extra(adjective) or surplus (noun),” & from original Tagalog meaning “labis.” And Original Tagalog Scripts of “Bay-ba-yin” (Tagalog Alphabet has NO LETTER “R.”
      Example: 1)Ma-dam-da-min ‘o’ Dam-dam(Hindi Ma-ram-da-min), 2)Tiyak(Hindi Ma-ra-hil).😮😮😮

The average Filipino speaks 3 languages: Tagalog, English and a local language.
In addition to English, I speak 4 other modern languages: Spanish 🇪🇸 , French 🇫🇷, German 🇩🇪 and Tagalog 🇵🇭 .
I understand and read Italian 🇮🇹 and Portuguese 🇵🇹. Once you learn a Romance language, you can learn the others 😉.
Tagalog, Illocano and other Philippine languages have cognates from Indonesian 🇮🇩. The cognate language of Indonesian is Malay. I observed an Indonesian speak as a Malaysian 🇲🇾 answered. 🙄 They understood each other. 🤯
I replied to Alijohn in different languages. He is good 👍 in learning languages. 🌎 Shameless plug for his YT channel! L 🤣 L
