Today, in honor of Alex's first designed FT product the "Alex Frame" gremlin design, he decided to strap a box to a plane and have his friends land in it while flying! If you are not familiar with what a FT Gremlin Quadcopter is, it is possibly the most fun fpv quadcopter drone ever created! I live in a more urban area where I have to drive 30+ minutes to fly my bigger quads. I have absolutely loved my gremlin because I can fly the stock setup with 2s, and it’s quiet and small enough as to where I can fly in my neighborhood and nobody cares. It flies sooo well and it’s very durable! Keep up the good work! P.s. make more gremlin videos, maybe even have a gremlin frame design contest 🤪

I literally just finished my Alex Gremlin build today! It's got red-bottoms and 12A esc's on 3s, man it is fast! The flight time is short running a 3s 450mah (only like 2.5 minuites) but it looks proportionaly correct. It also looks just like my 5 inch alien! Thanks for the epic design Alex!

Got to revisit that challenge, with better battery and maybe a tractor style aircraft, like a large cub or something that has a very low stall speed. Awesome fun.

You could do something like the prime wing (haha remember that) where a gate system holds the quads in, perfect use for the kraken, biller, or any of your larger fpv setup!
Heck yeah, you should revisit this. That was awesome. I just recently picked up a Gremlin and liftoff. First quad and I love it. Good flight times and durability. My only issue is that the sticky tape used to hold the board makes it so that it's never level. So I had to learn acro mode quick because it just wanders without any control. I love it though. So much fun.

Peter quit FT. He has his own channel now, but he said that he wants to do things not necessarily RC plane related that FT wouldn't let him do. Case in point, that foam ultralight plane that he's been building.

Alex, good stuff👍👍! I have a kustom gremlin I built. hglrc flame motors, emax fc, emax esc's, a qav clone 130mm frame. love it, I can fly out front or pace with my friends. It is a great training tool if you want to get into a bigger quads and don't want to break stuff. very durable...

I would like to see a v2 of this challenge in the future. maybe have the plane fly in a straight line more often so it would be easier to land in, then take off while in the back, that would be cool.
You guys should make a giant quad with a hook or claw (like the arcade machine) that can retrieve a plane from the dirt mound so you don't have to go climbing every time!
You should try this again but maybe with the flying circle or pancake :D

dope as always - should try a free-fall challenge through a set of numbered rings at various heights in the sky and distances apart ...climb to predetermined height and then try glide through as many rings as possible before you hit the ground. One who gets the most rings, wins, simple.

Gremlin Balloon sweeper
1) Fill 2 sets of colored balloons with helium. (5 red / 5 blue)
b) Tie balloons to weights with different length cords
3rd) Set the balloons out in a mixed pattern
Last) Two pilots/teams go head to head, first to pop their colored balloons wins, being careful not to pop the other teams balloons, or tangle in the cords.
I fly a Bixler Carbon Gremlin, by the way. Been through at least 30 packs, with only 3 bent props.Had an Andres Lu Delrin Gremlin as well, busted an arm on a soft landing in grass after about 10 packs... FliteTest was amazing though, and Jen sent me out a replacement frame! I Can't recommend the Gremlins enough, super fun to build and even more fun to fly!
I love the challenge and definitely think you should give it another go. Right now in in the middle of putting together a gremlin-like build. Using the emax board, but putting it on a 70mm carbon true X frame with baby red bottom 7500k motors and 1.7 inch props inside some plastic ducts I found on Amazon. When it's finished, it'll be about the same size as an original whoop, but will run 3S.

Love my Gremlin! Broke a delrin frame which killed an ESC and motor, but the FT guys replaced the parts and everything is back to normal.
You got the worse from both worlds: with a front drive the Gremlins will have problems with propwash. With a pusher they will have problems only with the prop. Because they get shredded... ^_^
Anyway, it's all about having fun with your mates. Cheers!
Do same idea just mount the box higher away from prop and rearward propwash!

It's too bad your Radian did not work out. It seems that if you could have a slower flying "basket plane" that could fly more of a rectangle pattern with long straight aways vice a circle the drones might have a better chance to approach and land. Something with ailerons AND flaps would work. It's always fun to watch you guys. Thanks.
I'm flying a self-built 3" and loving it, you can basically Take it anywhere since it's that small and it Just barely undercuts the 250g mark which is great, since I live in Germany.
