Love how Phillip Selway starts of the song like he's about to perform a ritual or something
Well, he is.
The summoning of the electronic gods Radiohead.
He’s got those balls on the end of his sticks like a native tribe or something
Ulubilge
love how optimistic is already a multidimensional hypnotic journey of a song, but this version is probably the most of all that! so good!
i love how thom mumbles, like it's something he adds to the shopping list "yeaaaah this one's optimistic"
Honestly I like this version a little more than the studio one.
No way man. The album version is way better than this. Nice to see how they play it tho
no this is way better than the album version; the album version is too slow
Ed's guitar left
Jonny's guitar right
Philip's drums left and right
Thom's guitar and voice, and Colin's bass at the center
Perfect ✨

Radiohead is the best thing that has happened to this planet.
no it was muse
muse wouldn’t exist without radiohead though
@@dennishubert5673 hahahahahaha......sure.
@@snemsies neither would exist without The Beatles

This makes me appreciate Collin's bass playing so much more. So smooth and grooving.
Radiohead can take you to another world. I promise.
Ed getting into character at 2:54
the intro in this song feels like breath of morning air. can’t explain it, it just makes sense.
4:00 this is why the term *eargasm* was invented
This song feels like an adventure. You progresses through the song and at the end you rewarded with the beautiful riffs
Thom and friends, the sounds you make will always be welcomed by my ear canals
lol one time I saw them on acid and I had the thought that Thom Yorke's vocal chords are the same shape as my eardrums. It made sense at the time, trust me
Clever Metaphor I felt that
It must be so good to play that ending when it kicks in. So so good
Most underrated Radiohead song ever
Me and my good buddy got banned from calling into the original q101.1 alternative rock station in chicago cuz we used to call and request this song like every single day. They would say "oh great its the optimistic guys again" lol. On the final night before q101.1 went off air, they played it and gave us a shout out on air. It meant the world to us.
@@williamhermann6635 that's an amazing fucking story bro
@@martinsmartini44 due to the current state.of social media with troll armies and what not, I can only hope you're actually being sincereful lol. It's not easy to actually be genuine on the internet these days.
@@williamhermann6635 yeah, I am
Definitely not.
When it opens up at 3:59 it's like ffs YESSS
especially in the studio version :D
Best part!!
When I was lucky enough to be at their Los Angeles Greek Theater show in October 2000, I will never, ever forget that exact moment when the same break happened live, it was utterly orgasmic, the entire audience exploded along with the break, absolutely transformative moment.
Allright, this one's pretty optimistic
And this one went to market
@@NeoKad99 this one just came out of the swamp
@@chandraabudiman this one dropped a payload
@@marivg8948 Fodder for the animals
You guys... tried the best you can
The band should be quarantined together in a Basement once again! The time has come!
Oh man..if only!
In a perfect world
A moon shaped basement
The greatest version of Optimistic apart from the album version. When Jonny aggressively strums at the end. Perfection.
I’ve always thought optimistic perfectly represents the exploding volcanoes on the cover
Volcanoes?
@@ethanwbs2952 on the album cover, i guess you can see volcanoes erupting
relooking you can defo see them, just never payed much attention but they're there next to the mountains
God I love this band
most underratd radiohead song
facts right here
Electroneering, Lucky, Packt Like Sardines In A Crushed Tin Can, Morning Bell
studio Optimistic should've started with that drum intro
Actually, I agree
That outro is just perfect ! Underrated song
Working from home singing along at the top of my lungs makes for a good Monday mood
03:59 is absolutely stunning to the ear.
Will never get over this outro.
But I wish that had done the outro from the album. It’s one of my favorite parts of this most excellent song 😊
i wish they would do that jazzy outro bit from the record tho
I don't think they really can...
@@typicalfurry2747they can try the best they can
This song probably would fit perfectly on In Rainbows too... That's the level of talent of these guys.
Whoa, you’re totally right. The kinda pop-ish vibe really could fit into the feel of In Rainbows!
Yeah!
but i think Kid A needed Optimistic the most tbh
@@pekee9304 Yes! Just like how Ok Computer needed Karma Police
this is an ok computer song. probably an outtake redone.

Dude, all these years later. And still amazing...

I can’t help but to close my eyes and sway as I sing along. It’s like a trance.

One of Radiohead's greatest
One of the most under appreciated musical gems of all time.
Ok, this is the best video on CZcams.
One of the few bands who can make 3 guitars work.
I remember a low quality of this being out like 2-3 years ago. Then it suddenly disappeared. Nice to have it reuploaded
You can clap the best you can, but it's not good enough
This is beautiful... thank you for everything
A shame they don't do the hip hop-y jazz-y outro Optimistic has live
I wish they played this live more
Love you Radiohead.
This live performance of optimistic could have fit on in rainbows
A mesmerizing song 🎵 ♥ it.
thanks to old BBC Top Gear, everytime i hear this song, it's always Ayrton Senna in my mind
i was actually introduced to radiohead thru top gear season 20 or so when they went to spain
Hear those strings ring!
I always thought this song sounded like it could be the credits song to a zombie moofie
definitely end credits music. thats my favorite type of sound too. look up yves tumor - noid
That's vit fery well.
The main melody is ripped off from the outro of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song.
Does anyone know the tuning Johnny uses for this song? His tone is absolutely mega in this version

Isn’t it just drop D?

Definitely the best version of this song. Makes you wanna dance like thom Yorke :D

I Love Thom Yorke And Jonny Greenwood Guitar On This Performance
Never been a huge radiohead fan but kid A is a fracking masterpiece,a fracking magnum opus.
Surreal

Ok, this is optimistic
1:21 Thom's voice has attracted whatever that is!
Look at the top left corner!
Someone walking probably
@Timothy Deane Balme a personified nessie, legends has it that it takes human form once in a while to bomb Radiohead performances.
Well spotted lol
It's clearly a Predator who's felt ike being called into question by the "big fish eat the little ones, not my problem, give me some" line
Basement live very nice
Well Done sir...❤😍
This top 10 radiohead
love you so muuch!!!!!!!!!tks for exst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Musical geniuses
idk why but this is my favourite radiohead song
I guess I’m not very optimistic considering that I thought the lyrics “The best you can is good enough” was “The best you can is *not enough”*
i thought im the only one who heard it that way
Tune
Jonny's not using a telecaster in here
Looks like Ed’s using one though! I guess he felt like they both shouldn’t be using one
he’s using his Fender Starcaster.
God this song feels like heaven especially the beginning.
Just wow
