Child hostages back in Israel still live with fears of Gaza captivity: "Will Hamas let us?"

  • Israeli grandparents whose two daughters and three young granddaughters were held hostage by Hamas in Gaza for weeks and released to Israel last month, are witnessing their daily struggles to shed off fears of life in captivity.
The couple recounted moments in the days following the release that reflected the implications of living in captivity on the behaviour of the young girls and their mothers.
"In the first days, they had a great fear. They were scared that Hamas could come and harm them here in Israel. And it took them, both Danielle and Sharon, some time until they were able to let go of this feeling that if they may say something to the media or say anything, Hamas will get them and kill them,” Remus Alony, the Grandfather said.
"Emma was in Danielle's arms and they kidnapped her from Danielle's arms. Danielle shouted and resisted, they pointed a gun at her and said: 'If you're not silent, we will shoot you," he added.
Under a temporary truce deal between Israel and Hamas, five of the family members were returned to Israel at the end of November, including their daughter Danielle Alony, 45, and her 5-year-old girl Emilia, and daughter Sharon-Alony-Cunio, 34, with her 3-year-old twin daughters Emma and Julie Cunio. Sharon's husband David Cunio, 33, was separated from his family a few days before the release and was kept in captivity.

I cry for all innocent, I pray for all the children that are suffering in both sides... So glad these children are now safe ... Let's keep all children and those innocent ones in our prayers. Please, we also need to see how the poor Palestinian children are coping after their ordeal in Israel jails and during this horrific war. May peace come to all. I'm so praying for these children to be healthy and strong, and good.. let's see how many hateful comments will come after my post.

During a meeting with Netanyahu and the war council, liberated female detainees shared their harrowing experiences.
One detainee expressed fear of being killed by Israeli bombings rather than by Hamas.
"I was in one of the houses, and the bombing was everywhere. We were in the tunnels, very afraid, not that Hamas would kill us, but that Israel would kill us (by bombing) and then say that Hamas killed us. I strongly request that the prisoner exchange be initiated."
Another recounted being bombed inside a hideout and shot at by a helicopter.
"We were bombed while inside the hideout. We were injured and smuggled out. In addition, we were shot at by a helicopter on our way to Gaza. My husband was separated from us three days before our return to Israel and taken into the tunnels. And are you talking about flooding the tunnels with seawater?".

Although; the entire time it’s been playing, we were told both on media and even internet, that “Russia is on its last legs, Ukraine is going to win any day now.” And now we’re being told that not only Ukraine never had the chance of repelling Russia; but Russia was right about Ukrainian Nazis (the Azimuths) attacking the Russian population in Ukraine!!
We learned that freaking Russians were in fact the GOOD GUYS in this war!!!!
Now that the new TV show “Hamas” is playing on all of our TVs, they’re telling us “Israel is the good guy”

It mattered since there was a minister who had treated prison, to the families of any released hostage if they gave interviews.
We needed to hear the raw interviews at the time because so the Palestinian hostages that were being released from Israeli captivity were claiming horrific treatments and the few interviews we had heard from the released 7/10/2023 hostages were all talking about humane treatments from members of Hamas.

Can you imagine the fear and trauma that Palestinian children must be facing? Imagine tiny, innocent children having to carry the decapitated and limbless burnt bodies of their loved ones, or the excruciating pain they endure while having their limbs amputated without anesthesia (Oh, but wait, those children died from the pain. The pain was well beyond human pain threshold limits). I am saddened at the pain and suffering of all innocent civilians, children and adults, on both sides. However, you cannot draw any fair comparisons between Israeli and Palestinian suffering. Palestinians have a right to defend themselves from a terrorist occupying force.

    • @dfo736
      @dfo736 Před 5 měsíci +6

This comment is completely tone deaf. Why do you have to discount the pain of these children? Why are you bringing in something else? Did the IDF take Palestinian children captive and torture them? No, they did their utmost to avoid civilian deaths. Hamas, on the other hand, went in and slaughtered 1400 men, women and children, and they tortured others and put it on social media. How dare you. How dare you take the pain of these children and say that what happened to them was self defense. No good person tortures children in self defense. I shouldn't even have to clarify that.

Israel told the Gazans to move out while Hamas shot at many of them. Twenty percent of Hamas' rockets land in Gaza and none of this could have happened if Hamas didnt go on a phycho killing frenzy.
