I'd say the most important and oldest buildings are still among us in all the major cities. Most ancient sites are for tourist money only and are not worth anything ... All the major cities have the real impossible architecture which is way older than humanity. Just look, you will see them eventually ... They are literally everywhere.

El Dorado existed - its name was Paititi, they heard to stories of the ritual you mentioned and equated it to a city but we don’t know if they ever did end up finding it and we ourselves have never found it due to overgrowth/ no location to go off of. With the conquistadors sacking the cities we know they refused to reveal all of them but there are letters discussing wanting to find it to the Vatican.
