I don’t know if anyone had commented this yet but some history on Centrailia PA. The fire was lit bc they had been using an abandoned mineshaft as a garbage dump and were burning trash in the mine. The fire spread further than expected and hit a coal vein and that’s why it can’t be put out

when i was on a trip to vegas from sf, the road near death valley was insanely hot the ac actually broke and we had to open all windows to even breathe properly it was insanely hot, ironically when we got to vegas it was much ‘cooler’ 😅

So that Mirror was know as the Yata no Kagami, and in Shinto Mythology, it was used to draw Amaterasu, the Sun goddess, out of her cave. Essentially, because Susanno (her brother) had neglected his duty as the god of storms, his father Izanagi banished him from the heavens. Long story short, they had an argument and out of rage, susanoo destroyed her rice fields and through a skinned horse into her sacred weaving hall. As a result, one of her weavers died of shock causing amaterasu to be both embarrased, Grieved and shocked. Amaterasu then decided to hide herself away in a cave rather than show herself to the other gods. The world went dark then for the whe time she was in the cave amd so the other gods tried to draw her out the cave by Laughing, singing and dancing in front of her cave causing her to look out her cave and get blinded by the light of the Yata no kagami.
