D-Series truck sales were in the gutter before they introduced the Cummins in 1989 they were hard to find at dealers between 1990-1993. Chrysler had seriously considered leaving the truck business, but after seeing sales increase due to the Cummins motivated Chrysler to introduce the revolutionary 1994 model.
