I'm so grateful my dad played this album in the house during my formative years. Decades later I'm still listening to it and being moved by it. Good music is indeed timeless.
Your comment relates to me. When I was a young kid my dad used to play this vinyl. Loved this Album as a kid due to the music. I’m now 31, I understand the lyrics more now as I’m older. I’m playing the same vinyl which is older than me! Thanks Dad.

Such a strong LP from the best progressive band in the world on all fronts. The threesome was firing on all cylinders and with the highest confidence. They could do no wrong at this period. The tour was mind blowing too!

All these classic tunes were so much better when played live in concert and Phil would add extra words or sounds to them..

Duchess...my dad was lucky enough to hear this live back in the day. When I saw them in Madison Square Garden last year and heard this, it blew me away. I'll always love this song and its incredible sound!

My favorite song of Genesis and it’s hard to pick one! I could listen to this over and over nonstop. Excellent lyrics on the up and down of life. Phil’s vocals are superb. This is a masterpiece. I’m sad Phil can’t perform anymore. I miss the 80s and 90s when I grew up with Genesis and Phil.

I was lucky enough to hear this album days before the official release on a top notch sound system in a shop in Twickenham. We stood there with minds blown. And walked away with little metal lapel badges of "Albert". And a copy of the album in plain wrapping.

This is a song that could be a perfect wake up song, or wine down song at the end of the day of rough work. The tranquility the song offers in the very beginning is awesome, and the overall melody is just a great drive song or end of the day song!

Far as I'm concerned, this is their first 100% Rock and Roll album.Smashing dynabyte! Pure GENIUS.
For many Genesis fans, Duke is the first album of Genesis music decline, stepping into pop era. Nevertheless is a fantastic album with prog notes, mature, well crafted and their peak as a trio. Duke does not contain bad tracks at all. The final tracks, Duke's travels and Duke's end are wonderful instrumental pieces pretty close to progressive music.
Pretty close lol? Dukes travels/end is 100% a progressive piece, and though this album does include some pop elements duchess, cul de sac, heathaze, behind the lines and the travels/end are all very much progressive as well.

Hanging on to their prog roots with this album. A change of direction with subsequent albums which brought a new audience, but disappointed some of their die hard fans (like me 😒) Duke = superb though!
