I started cutting with the Oster 76s and as I've gained experience with cutting, find both clippers are a MUST have. You made good points with this, thank you.

I have never used detachable blade clippers and I am fresh out of barber school but I have been comparing cuts for both and I do think the foundation of your haircut with detachable blades makes the cut come out better!

I believe learning to use both is important, cutting with the detachable I find the fades come out a lot smoother, but it's very unforgiving if you make a mistake you have to know the right amount of pressure to use.

I haven't used detachable blades yet but I truly believe they are nessecary for at least debulking which creates the foundation for the cut! I am a beginner so I am still trying to grasp it all!

Great video. My job requires me to use their BGRC at academy...I've always used the taper lever type clipper. It's hard to master when you have no time to really practice with BGRC. My Magic Clip cuts hair off with a little texture, even with lever fully closed. The BGRC with 1 or 2 cut everything off so evenly. It takes time to get to know how the detachable blending blades differ and sub for the taper lever.

I just use math lol. If someone says they want a number one chances are they are referring to a guard. So I’ll use a 1 1/2 detachable cause its 4mm and for me I use masters and there blade is a 1 basically which is like 3.2 mm. If I put a one on like a basic blade (legends) it’ll become about 4mm. So I think its vital barbers learn the actual millimeters of each blade and the guards. Will make it easier to use any clipper without much thought

Math is cool. 1/8th 1÷8=.125. 3.2mm 3.2÷25.4 for the conversation gives you .125. I learned how to use math, too. I see people have made the mistake of using detachable blade number 1 instead of 1A for 1/8.
