    The 00000 detachable blade is equivalent to your trimmers, the 000 detachable blade is equivalent to your adjustables closed so it's a 0, the 0A detachable blade is equivalent to your adjustables halfway open so it's a 1/4, the 1 detachable blade is equivalent to your adjustables all the way open so it's a 1/2 so it's basically the same thing as your 0 guard closed, the 1 1/4 blade is equivalent to your 0 guard halfway open so it's 3/4, the 1A detachable blade is equivalent to your 1 guard closed, the 1 1/2 detachable blade is equivalent to your 1 guard halfway open so it's a 1 1/4, 1 3/4 detachable blade is equivalent to your 1 1/2 guard closed or the 1 guard open, the 2 detachable blade is equivalent to your 2 guard closed, the 2 3/4 detachable blade is equivalent to your 2 guard open so it's a 2 1/2, the 3 1/2 detachable blade is equivalent to your 3 guard closed, and the 3 3/4 detachable blade is equivalent to your 4 guard closed!

    Just got my Supra ZR last night. It was like Christmas, I have been eyeing it for months. I went on Andis website to register the product and while browsing Andis new catalogue there was an amazing ad for the Supra ZR 2. I called andis and they told me that it is exactly the same clipper except it has a removable battery that lasts 3 hours instead of 2 hours and the same 2 hour charge time, no release date yet. So looks like I will be using detachables a lot more. Great channel been watching for a while.

My head looks bad and i know it but gave up because of inconvenience and price. Never again. Just need to decide on brand. And my puppies are finally going to get some trims. A low grade regular guard based home clipper wont cut it. Literally. It did for a few trims. But fine cat hair no way. Coarse dog hair no way. I'm looking forward to the big league type.

    I could use a little advice. Im thinking of investing a little money into a pair of oster 76 clippers. I understand theres a single speed and a 2 speed oster 76. The 2 speed handles fine hair better but does not have a hole for clipper oil. These are going to be for home use for my kids and myself. Maybe the wife when she want that line in the back. Does it really matter about speed and the hole? Read all this info online so im not sure how true this information is legit. Include the cordless osters for the heck of it.

    • @TRAVELBARBERLIFE
      @TRAVELBARBERLIFE  Před 4 lety +1

      No, it would not. Think about it logically. The outliner blade is .1 millimeter shorter, therefore no. However, if you zerogap the 00000, and not the outliner, then yes, and vice versa. I have ceramic and regular steel blades. I like the ceramics alittle better.

    quick question, would a 3 1/2 ( detachable ) fade into a WAHL #4 guard if I’m fading down?
    I have the detachable blades 1 through 3 1/2. I’ll substitute the 000-0a with adjustable clipper and after 3 1/2 if that makes any sense lol

    • @TRAVELBARBERLIFE
      @TRAVELBARBERLIFE  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes and no depending on the hair type and how you use the 3 1/2. Short answer is no because the 3 1/2 is quite shorter than a 4 guard.

    • @MelloLoMane
      @MelloLoMane Před 6 lety +1

      I would say no as well. The 3 1/2 detach blade is equivalent to a Wahl #2 guard OPEN.
      . If fading down the 3 3/4 detach blade could fade into the Wahl #4 if feathering it in correctly... the 3 3/4 detach is basically a wahl #3 guard so it is the best detach blade to fade into the Wahl #4. I sometimes go back and clean up the transition with a Wahl #3 guard OPEN. Hope this helps

    Hey need some solid advice ASAP to place order. I received my SUPRA ZR ION. I'm newbie to the detachable blades. To start I can afford 4-5 different blades and so with there being so many sizes I'm overwhelmed. I need to get blades that will be a good start to get through standard clipper men's cut .ALSO CERAMIC IS A BIT MORE $$ then steel, do you think it's a good investment as I want the best but not clear what makes them better. 🤔🤯The salon I started at has non stop male clients(average JOE'S) WHO request the cookie cutter clipper cut. I'm so excited to really up my skills as the array of sizes look like fun. But I'll have gradually build my COLLECTION. I will be excited if someone pipes up because I REALLY NEED TO ORDER LIKE NOW. 😚🤗😫🤗🤗

    • @TRAVELBARBERLIFE
      @TRAVELBARBERLIFE  Před 6 lety

      The real question is, what blades do you have now? I ask because have blades from 00000 to 19mm.Second, I wouldn’t worry about ceramic and steel just yet. I would focus on getting better. I just happen to have both full sets of blades. I will say that the ceramic blades cut smoother in my opinion.

    • @ConcreteBarber661
      @ConcreteBarber661 Před 6 lety +1

      The ZR cuts similar to the octane but the zr is heavy af & its battery is not removable in a convenient manner, in other words if that battery fucks up you have to replace the clipper or have it fixed. Which andis is legit about i must say. Also, the speed system is more gimmick than useful. Imo at least. Maybe saving battery life is the only useful detail about it.

    • @reynault87
      @reynault87 Před 6 lety

      Daniel Cooley I would stick with the octane. The Supra zr's are ok, but you'll end up only using them only to bald out & do even all around cuts (which was the case for me). Out of all the clippers I own my octane is my baby. Its all a matter of preference though.
