Mazda is shaking things up with its 2025 compact sedan and hatchback models by reducing prices. The 2025 Mazda 3 sedan now starts at $25,135 for the 2.5 S trim, a $220 drop from last year. The hatchback sees a more significant price cut of $740, starting at $26,135 for the same trim. This makes the Mazda 3 a more appealing option for budget-conscious buyers who still want a stylish and reliable vehicle.
However, every other 2025 Mazda 3 hatchback model now costs $300 more, with the top-tier Turbo Premium Plus priced at $38,135. The Select Sport sedan starts at $25,875 and now includes Amazon Alexa for in-car and home device control via voice commands, enhancing convenience and connectivity. The addition of Mazda Online Navigation promises more accurate routes with over-the-air updates, ensuring that drivers can stay on track with the latest maps.
The sedan's Preferred model price rises by $150 to $27,525, while other models see a $350 increase, topping out with the Turbo Premium Plus at $36,985. Despite these price adjustments, the Mazda 3 remains competitively priced within its segment, offering a good balance of performance, features, and value. Mazda's commitment to integrating advanced technology is evident in these updates, catering to modern drivers' expectations.
Two powertrains continue to be available: a 191-hp naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. A six-speed manual is also available for the five-door Premium trim, appealing to driving enthusiasts who prefer more control over their vehicle. The availability of a manual transmission is becoming increasingly rare in today's market, making it a standout feature for the Mazda 3.
For more power, the Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback offer a 250-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 320 pound-feet of torque, available only with all-wheel drive. This turbocharged powertrain delivers impressive performance, making the Mazda 3 a fun and dynamic car to drive. The naturally aspirated version comes standard with front-wheel drive, but AWD is available on the Mazda 3 Carbon Edition, providing additional traction and stability in various driving conditions.
