    I've owned my 2023 Turbo 3 hatchback for over 3 months, and I absolutely love this car. I wasn't a big fan of the C-pillar being wide, but it's grown on me a lot. This is the best car I've ever bought.

  • @groundedgaming
    @groundedgaming Před rokem +20

    I love the 3. It's somehow so clean elegant and beautiful, devoid of excessive unneccesary sharp angular lines. The red helps the cars look much better also.
    Only thing I'm not liking too much in this 3 hatch is the thick C pillar. It's like they tried to make it thick like the Golf, but angled too far foward, and the upwards part on the door doesn't help me like it better also. Can you do a re-design trying something else with the C-pillar?

    I have the 2020 3 hatchback in the same color, it’s still pretty much the same and I love it. The dial is way easier to use than a touch screen. I find myself not having to take my eyes off the road as much and the screen doesn’t get dirty. The color also gets lots of compliments from strangers.

    Have watched the (always nice looking) 3 improve each generation and feel that mazda has attained design perfection for a hatch with this model.
    It's so good that I have a dream of borrowing the tooling and assembling them in Sri Lanka as soon as the model is superseded, especially the three 'X' versions (with 2.0 sky X AWD) from Japan. True modern classics.
    I believe Sri Lanka needs to finally enter the car assembly market properly and I want mazda to be the first to truly enter with the investment of a proper factory and training, with the mazda 3 being the first model. And for selfish reasons, also the CX-90 inline six.
    Taking the dream one step further, I would love it if mazda then enters a drivetrain technology sharing agreement with BMW to produce/install the K1600 bike engine into the mazda 3 for inline-six motoring enthusiasts to have something interesting and different. They could modify it slightly for cars and cost saving with changes such as a cast iron block etc. Being 1.6 L, it will also be exempt from luxury and semi-luxury road tax.
    Sri Lanka and Japan have been friends for a long time and I'm proud of this friendship because I love Japan and their auto industry. Sri Lanka helped Japan re-enter the world arena after WW2 and Japan has since been very kind and helpful to Sri Lanka. I'm so excited with the decisions that mazda makes with their vehicles that I hope at least part of my dream comes true.
    I'm so curious to see how they can better this design. I would say that it's nearly impossible to do so but when you consider the concept designs for the stillborn maz6 etc. you just know that mazda can do it.
    Often, to have models assembled in certain countries, a certain percentage of the vehicle needs to be produced locally and I think this can be managed if the interior, wheels/tyres, batteries and other accessories are produced locally.
    cheer to mazda and the mazda3 hatch. may us enthusiasts continue to be impressed and excited for many years to come.

    I love that cars design but I test drove one a couple of years ago and I didn't like it because I'm a bit claustrophobic and the interior (Although it's pretty high quality in there) is pretty dark and not bright at all because of that C-pillar being so huge. • @fenrirslip
    @fenrirslip Před rokem +3

    I personally think this design philosophy near the C-pillar works better on the Mazda3 Hatchback than it does on the CX-90 since it's a smaller package. However, in my opinion, this massive red C-pillar on the Mazda3 Hatchback looks as if it's adding visual weight to the rear from certain angles, specifically from a side view. Part of me wonders what the car would look like if the C-pillar was black, while also having the entire roof be blacked out as well. Another thing I would change is to remove that small quarter window and have the entire passenger window be a single piece of glass. Obviously, that would make the piece more expensive to repair, but I think it would look so much better if that little quarter window wasn't there. Regardless, this is still a beautiful design from Mazda.

    I've had my 2021 turbo hatch long enough that I've gotten used to the control wheel and buttons for the screen, but there is a learning curve for sure. Having said that, I dont see any other way Mazda makes such a simple and elegant looking dash without doing it this way. The entire car truly looks like it came out of an Italian design studio such as Pininfarina, but with the piece of mind it has Japanese engineering and build quality under the skin😂 The only and only thing I would change if possible is having the 6 speed manual or at least Mazda's new 8 speed auto. The 6 speed works fine for normal tooling around, but it most definitely blunts the potential of having a class leading 320 ftlbs torque. With that much torque and AWD for a car this size the 0-60 should be close to 5 seconds, instead it takes about 6 seconds because the torque converter auto doesnt shift quickly enough and seems to need at least one more gear ratio. First gear seems to be only for getting the car moving and it goes straight to 2nd almost instantly, and then 6th is a tall overdrive for fuel economy.

    I have mazda 3 2021 premium with manual transmission. Mazda 3 2019 onwards with manual transmission is a FWD. It is not AWD. My mazda 3 2021 is the best vehicle with manual transmission. NO other car company has ever put adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, 360 degrees camera, lane assist, rear cross traffic automatic braking, radar cruise control and everything that you can find in a car with automatic transmission, they are all incorporated in this car! Somehow, mazda has done it on their manual transmission. Subaru can't do it. Toyota can't do. Hyunda, Kia, Volkswagen, etc. My mazda 3 2021 premium with manual transmission is the best on it's class. Nobody can beat it. Even high end cars cannot match the safety feature that premium manual transmission has. On adaptive cruise control, it slows down and speeds up on its own. It stays on it's lane. It keeps a distance from the cars it's following. It notifies you if any car in the front or back is getting too close to you. If it needs to lower the gear, it will remind you on the Heads Up Display!! The system will keep it on a specific gear, until it tells you to change it. I have learned to be on the same page, when the systems needs to change the gear. I know when, so i don't wait for it to tell me. NO car company has ever done such impressive features in a car with manual transmission! 2022 onwards. mazda messed it up by adding cylinder deactivation, which i think, is a bad idea. Thank God, my 2021 doesn't come with the deactivation.

    I have to disagree on black wheels - they just create black holes on cars and a detachment from the ground. A dominant trend has been - and not just Mazda - to have high window sills and thus, a small greehouse. It is a claustrophobic driving experience and, front the outside, decapitates the driver - it's funny and a little unnerving to see just a driver's head in the window. Other than that and the giant c-pillar blind spot, it is a cool looking car. Oh, and yes, that Mazda red is stunning.

    THis car seems to be polarizing whoever I talk to. I personally can't stand the hatchback version. The side profile, C pillar and the lack of shoulder line really makes it odd. The way light reflects off of the doors and above the rear fender is weird... doesn't go well with sharp nose of the car and some of the rest sharp features. Also, the graphics (healights and taillights) are too small compared to the empty area around them. When you view the car straight from the back the shoulder line is a straight line up from the roof down to the fender, which is soo not-dynamic and boring. She looks weak and boring becuase of this. Need some fender flares. Compare it to the previous generation which had those beautiful fender arches around both front and rear wheels, which was gorgeous. If You could combine this generation's graphics and some features with the lines of the previous one, it would be a winner. The sedan is a bit better because of the shoulder line. And let's not mention Mazda 6, which is just perfect with those fender arches.. so dynamic, luxurious, nimble.. yet elegant.
    This is my view, but I know many who agree with me. Please don't start comment wars because I don't care.

    I learned back in the 1980s on a Nissan Hardbody pickup when we had no CZcams videos and I had to sort of figure it out as I went along. I stalled at some lights more than a few times, but I got the hang of it fairly fast. Now you can watch YT videos to get the basic concept down, so it's just a matter of doing it.

    The horsepower is 191, not 181. You consistently get specs wrong in your videos.

      Yeah, he says 186 at the beginning, which is the prior years' hp.

    I just can’t stand the rear end. It looks like a bean. I wish the body color extended past the back window in a more graceful send off. If that black wing thing was body colored and several inches longer, the silhouette would be much better imo.

    Torsion beam rear suspension is cheap, rear seating on hatch is cramped for taller folks, poor blind spot visibility, that rotary knob infotainment system in 2023 is outdated, touchscreen please!!! Poor trade in/resale values. Stay away folks better options from the Civic and Corolla........

      2023 Corolla is the cheapest feeling car I have ever sat in. Test drove it and rode noise so disgusting. Cvt transmission is terrible. Mazdas are driver cars. The Corolla felt like a power wheels from Walmart.
