    Love my ‘21 FXLRS. Massive step up from my iron 883! No regrets whatsoever. I was initially going to buy a Dyna until I rode the new softails. What a huge step up in power, comfort, handling, everything! I rode several softails, but when I rode the LRS I was done! I found my bike! The extra weight is great for the highway. The extra power is great for everywhere. The handling on the LRS is light years ahead of my sporty. So is the stability. The 6th gear is awesome! I guess it’s for when you want to cruise at 80+ and be around 3k rpm. I rarely have to use it. The amount of torque on hand throughout the rpm range is outstanding! Eventually I want a torque cam (cause I love that torque!) and I can’t imagine what it will feel like then?

    I had an Iron 883. My mistake was test riding a 2022 Lowrider S. Purchased it that day. I added cruise control and swapped the stock bars for 12" Dominated Meathook Mini Apes. My short arms made the stock bars a reach (I'm 5'6"). Now I can sit upright, grab the bars with some bend in my arms.
    The M8 117 is a beast. Pulls strong in ever gear at on the highway doing 70mph in 6th gear you're at 2,800 rpm with great power on tap. Go to pass another vehicle at 70mph, hold the throttle and you're doing 90mph by the time you complete the pass.
    The ride is very stable and the suspension is robust enough that I've never felt jolted going over bumps.

      The 883 to low rider s transition is night and day. You don’t realize just how “old school” the sportster platform is until you ride one of the newer Harleys. Still love the sportster for what it is though lol

    Many dealerships don't allow test rides. Mine didn't. But I know how you feel. My first bike was a Honda CB 300F. 27 HP 380lb naked upright, with handlebars. Then with no test ride, I upgraded to a CBR 650F. 90 HP 450lb Sport bike with clip ons! It definitely took some getting used to. Good video man!!

    Thanks for great video. I turn 62 next month and buying a new bike for my birthday, I have not ridden a bike since I sold my Street Glide 17 years ago. Because I am older and a tad weaker in strength, I know lower weight bikes are easier to handle. I want the Low Rider ST which weighs 727 lbs and still can't make up my mind as to which bike to buy,. I have always owned Harleys (883, WideGlide, Softail deluxe and Street Glide) and have been eyeing the new Indian Scout 101 which weighs 547 lbs. Just curious as to what bike you would recommend. I live in Austin TX and going to use bike to cruise around city but also take 4 hour cruises in the Texas Hill Country. I know heavier bikes are a tad more difficult to handle but also know the heavier weight is better for cruising. Thanks for reviewsand you have a new subscriber. Awesome video. Safe travels🙏

      Hey Bob! Thank you for the kind words and happy early birthday. For me I’d recommend the low rider st as it’s more versatile right out of the gate, but I’d also check out the heritage softail as one of the best all around Harleys. The scout 101 is definitely a ton of fun, but it hasn’t been around long enough yet. Just my 2 cents

    Much more fun, power, heavier, and funnier. I also never tested rode one either. I have only been riding for 2 years as well. A lot more power with the Stage II. The only thing that sucks is the gas consumption. The first time I rode it I almost got thrown out because I throttled hard as like I did on my Sportster 883. The one major fix I am trying to fix is the wind buffering.

    • @IronBornRider

    • @nklam247
      @nklam247 Před 4 měsíci

      I may have discovered a possible solution to the wind buffering. I noticed while riding the T Sport fairing is doing a great job. I put my hand next to the tank while going highway speed at 75 and there was a ton of wind coming up hitting my helmet from below. I am going to fabricate some “fins” by the tank. I’ll keep you posted when I make a video.

    I love my '19 Roadster and have thought about trading it up to the FXLRST, but I just can't pull the trigger. I want a bigger bike (and a 6th gear) for the longer trips since I commute by motorcycle for work, but I love how nimble and quick the Roadster is, as well as it's ability to lane split without any hesitation. Maybe I'll wait a for a deal on a used one to add a second bike to the stable so I can have one for the urban city riding I mostly do and the other for the longer hauls.
