- Crowsworn has had a strangely difficult life cycle. Being called a carbon copy of Hollow Knight almost every step of the way. We just got amazing news that I will breakdown in regards to the progress of the game, a new trailer, and a demo.

I’m so happy to be a backer for this game! The fact Team Cherry supports Mongoose Rodeo and the amount of effort the devs are putting in gives me high hopes that this’ll be a masterpiece

Wow I love the way enemies react to you! It seems it will be really rewarding to learn strategies for each type of enemy. Hope they don't give you fast travel too soon!

I can tell The controls look so responsive and fluid just from watching

You can upgrade the prism! It's one of the two riddles/side-quests that are aviable in the demo.

I was looking forward to this video and so far I love what they displayed within the demo. The animations smooth the Bossfight looks engaging that the background is just beautiful and in this game is gonna be a fun dark experience and I’m still mad at myself, that I didn’t back this project
Its such a fun game. Also there are a couple of really good full demo playthroughs like fireborn and BlueSR if you crave more crowsworn content :)

I absolutely loved crowsworn demo and everything about it but one thing is a slight problem for me is that
Does crowsworn lack hueshifting? like a few instances of the reds (especially on the character robes ad animations)are a little bit pale between shades, like they are the same hue throughout
especially when creating shades of lighter or darkers tones of a color you tend to push the hue to the orange for lighter shades and to purple for darker shades, even though no drastic changes are required just a tiny but of hueshift might make it look very pretty

I don't think it's been confirmed. The demo bosses do appear in the new trailer, so probably not cut. But who knows.

@@monovailable no, I heard. This game stole the character animations, "ability" animations, UI, characters/enemies art design and enemies' attack patterns from Hallow Knight. It's 100 percent the same.

I just hope it won’t feel like Hollow Knight DLC
I kickstarted mirrorimage and this about same time. Mirrorimage is allready out got descent review scores and I have heard is massive game. Since there where some mix ups in kickstarter they provided me an extra key. I am so happy about that project. I think Crowsworn fell in to the trap that when they got 100x the funding they neede they now felt they wanna do 100x game.
I dont think most fans would even realistically want to wait years and years of extra to get so long game most of them will propably never finish it. I would have hoped they would have gone the blasphemous , deaths gambit route where release the game in reasonable time and then fucking remake it or add as much content as you want as long as you wanna work on it.
Now we are in bit of vallheim problem where the early access/kickstarter was so good that the project seems to have huge problems managing the new resources the project brought in. I dont think valheim has still gotten any new biome out from what was in the early access back way back.

If Afterimage is the game name, calling it a massive game is definitely an accurate description.
thats not really how metroidvanias work tho. sure, hollow knight has dlcs, but a metroidvania is meant to be an incredibly large open world game. you cant just add new content as you go, because that defeats the purpose of exploration and learning a handcrafted secret filled map. bear in mind that the demo is really a dlc, as the level design wont be in the final game.
we do know there is one large DLC planned, it was a kickstarter stretch goal. My guess is it will bea new area added to a section of the map, but we wont know much till after the main game releases
It feels so weird to look at. It feels and looks so much like hollow knight, but it's not. My brain is like "Oh, we know that!" and I'm like "No we don't", then my brain gets confused and has to reboot.

(Also this game engine is made by unity. if you may or not know that unity made a shit policy that the people making the games and releasing the game now have to pay the company unity 20cens per install, and there's a catch if someone uninstall the game and reinstall, they get charged that money/20cents again. And doing some multiplication the companies that using the engin have to pay unity a average amount of 600 dollars a month, and this can go up to the thousand to millions of dollars in depth witch will bankrupt a small gaming company if the game is very much successful like hollow night and cup head. There's a lot to unpack but you have to look it up for yourself if you want a bigger pitcher in what your reading. also one thing before I go, get *Cultist of the Lamb* because on a certain day the creator will delete it off the game store.)

sometimes it just works that way. Failed Champion took me hours and hours while NKG took 5 tries

this could be my 3rd favorite metroidvania of all time, behind blasphemous and hollow knight. of course blasphemous 2 is releasing soon as well and looks to be a worthy sequel to the original if not to surpass it entirely. people keep telling me about this "silksong" game, but i know its not real haha just like metroid dread. in all seriousness tho this game is looking super good.

Blasphemous and Bloodstained are inspired by Castlevania, the latter was literally developed by old Castlevania devs.
Crowsworn is a Hollow Knight clone
There has not been a 2D Castlevania in over a decade, and Metroid Dread doesn't borrow from these games, other than maybe the Flash Shift ability? But even then it's functionally very different than the Cloak from HK.
