  • Just showing my LED Whelen Liberty LFL lightbar.
    edit 02/22/17 I've added another video of a newer version of this lightbar, same basic modules but showcasing the ScanLock wire of how to change the patterns for your lightbar and to use the sync option as well.

      Depending on the controller you are looking to hook up your Liberty bar to, yes, you should be able to set it up. You can find the wiring schematics online for the Liberty lightbar depending on your model and that will guide you to which wire is your power wires for each different function. Once you have each function tested and everything is working based on your wiring, then you can get each wire hooked up to your controller so as you activate each button or switch, mode 1, 2 or 3, alley lights, takedowns, etc, and have a functioning setup.

    for the low current bar what fuses should i use on the trigger wires? whelen manual says 1A max but i plan on running multiple trigger wires at the same time on the switch so should i go with 2 amp or 5 amp or stick with 1 amp fuses

      If your manual is saying each trigger wire should be pulling less than an amp or so and to use a 1amp fuse for each wire, if you are joining multiple wires together, depending on the current that each wire/action or lighthead will be pulling will depend on the correct fuse to put in place. If you have 4 wires tied together but their current draw is pulling 3.5 amps, then you could install a 4 amp fuse to ensure a spike doesn't occur and blow each trigger wire or lighthead.

    Good video!! Thanks. I have a quick question I’m looking to buy a Whelen lfl light bar witch is all blue. But I want to change to amber and white? Or all amber? Could you please help me out if you can please? THANK YOU!!

      So a way to do that would either be changing out each lighthead that is blue for amber or white or you can use the same lightheads and just change the LED itself but with that you would have to de-solder each LED and solder on the new color ones you want.

    Awesome video! How do you change the flash patterns like that?!

      Cade Bray, I'm using 2 sepals witch boxes. one controls my takedowns, alleys and red/blue patterns while I configured my traffic advisor on a separate switch box.

      rjracing38 ok cool, I have the same bar, but mine flashes much slower than yours. How would one change the speed to make it quicker?

    • @rjracing38
      @rjracing38  Před 7 lety

      Cade Bray, I think if you opened the bar up, you can change the patterns of each module I believe using the purple wire, (pending how yours is exactly setup and wired). Mine originally was a lot slower but I put power one module at a time and change the pattern on each one.

      rjracing38 ya I'm not sure..all my wires are already connect to plugs for the modules..would I have to take them off and rewire?

    • @rjracing38
      @rjracing38  Před 7 lety

      Cade Bray, honestly, no but that's just me saying that because I was able to make some spare wires and connect them pin by pin and make a spare harness...which actually, you could do, open the bar, disco the main harness wires that goes to your switches and connect a "back-up" harness and work off that because each wire would control each module...least based off mine and the manual you can download, that'll give you a rough idea to start.
