Don't forget.. a SUPERIOR jutsu to the Raikiri. Which doesn't require the Sharingan and so can be passed down. But also can hit mid range, and yes, it HAS been developed and has variations. Ie, the application where he Lets the purple lightning burst out in 360° electrocuting and stunning everyone in his vicinity. So an immensely useful aoe basically.. and.. Im SURE he has more.. this is kakashi we're talking about.. a TRUE genius of Ninjutsu

Chidori sharp spear looked soo cool when he first did it, at the time I wondered how the hell they're gonna stop him now. He just needed to keep improving it's speed and imbued it with black flames which he kind of did to Naruto's clones in their battle.
In the final battle, that was filler, never happened.

Props again for even mentioning Raikiri / Lightning Blade as a separate thing. Seen so many videos that ignore it I've lost count.
Doesn't seem to make much difference in practice, but the official info has Raikiri as S-Rank (unique to Kakashi), while the Chidori is A-Rank.
Why tf is it an entire rank above if its the same jutsu? Raikiri just has the achievement of cutting lightning
@@tronortron Here's a bit of info I found on a wiki, if I find more I'll let you know: "Because the Chidori is already powerful on its own, the Raikiri requires better chakra control, which is exemplified in its appearance. The Chidorii appears as simply a mass of white electrical chakra in the user's hand, while the Raikiri is more focused and blue."

"Raikiri (lit. lightning blade) is a stronger variant of Chidori used only by Kakashi. It earned its name through rumors saying that Kakashi once cut through a lightning bolt using the technique. The technique is formed and used in the same manner as Chidori, but differentiates in the damage that it causes, thus being classified as a S-ranked technique rather than Chidori which is an A-ranked technique.
Though there are no visual discrepancies between Chidori and Raikiri, Kakashi will often correct someone if he/she refers to his technique as Chidori. Raikiri is the only jutsu that was originially Kakashi's that he did not copy from another ninja. This means he is the founder or inventor of the jutsu."
The difference is raikiri has shape change added to it, chidori does not. Kakashi explains this to naruto when he shows him he can create a rasengan as well. It's actually a shaped blade coming from his hand in the form of raiton chakra, chidori is just raiton chakra centered around a person's hand that is used in a high speed jab like might gai said.
That's why it's a superior jutsu to the chidori, though sasuke mastered adding shape change to his as well with the entries in this list, he showed respect to kakashi by continuing to use the name chidori as the foundation of his chidori based jutsu.

The Onyx Chidori used once before Sasuke gained Six Paths powers, when he used his Curse Mark to essentially access Sage Jutsu instead, is basically the same as the Six Paths one. This is the main reason why he won against Naruto in the Final Valley. What set them apart was when Sasuke gained Sage chakra first. Six Paths is obviously better than Snake Sage/Jugo's kekkei genkai Sage, but it's still inherently nature energy, just a more potent application of the same thing, a buff to the base jutsu, but not really a "different" jutsu per se. That's like saying Naruto's first Rasengan and his adult Rasengans are different jutsus, they aren't, he's just a lot stronger and better with it now.
Another fun fact about Chidori/Lightning Blade: Lightning Blade IS technically a different jutsu, in the databooks, Chidori is an A-rank jutsu, and the Lightning Blade is an S-rank jutsu. That's because Kakashi's advancements with the jutsu just drastically supersedes the Chidori's, so this video's spicy #1 pick is also backed up by the literal jutsu rankings in the databooks.
You want an even spicier pick? If we're counting the Lightning Blade, allow me to introduce you to our REAL #1 pick, NC. Kirin, or as Sasuke would say "begone, with the thunderclap". An attack manipulating natural lightning that was basically a perfection of Sasuke's Chidori and was the culmination of his Lightning Style arsenal. It still manipulates lightning from the hand similar to a Chidori, it's just a giant one, created from natural lightning or induced-natural lightning by heating the atmosphere to produce storm clouds, so it requires very little chakra to use, since a majority of the power is created by a natural phenomenon, only directed by your chakra, chakra is of course used for the setup though.

Kirin isn't powerful enough to hurt kaguya, hell it couldn't kill itachi at point blank tange. Kamui raikiri legit cuts through kaguya. Even if he included it would be at most number 3 because both onyx chidori and Kamui raikiri outclass it.
@@Elephantsaresupreme the only reason it didn’t kill Itachi as stated by Itachi is because he blocked it with his Susano’o and Yata Mirror which deflects ANYTHING, so yeah. Kirin is still strong. It was strong enough to work against Six Paths Naruto and Urashiki.

It’s also not from Orochimaru senjustu. It comes from Jugo’s cell, as Orochi never mastered sage mode. The only snake/dragon sage we’ve been introduced to is Kabuto. So, NC was right it has a sage amp, but technically it’s not coming from Orochi.
Isn’t it the onyx chidori? Like in all the games featuring the curse mode chidori call it onyx chidori, which is just nature chakra mixed with his chidori, and as a adult he can do it whenever thanks to six paths .

Is it just me or does Kakashi thrive in war? In the 3rd war he showed arguably more impressive feats as a kid than as a adult in part 1 of Naruto. Kid Kakashi was a rival to Itachi. You know the guy who wiped out one of the strongest clans ever. He wasn't shit to Itachi as an adult.

After he got the sharingan and being an anbu he focussed more on assasination and less on training and developing new jutsus
Kakashi surpassed itachi during war arc.

I know technically sauske's thunder dragon attack isn't a Chidore, but I'd like to just mention the similar movements and way of initiating the attack like any other Chidore. This said, it might not have been first, but I believe it would fair decently high on this list if added. Like top 5 at the very least

@@magikarpkingdom9698The difference is that Kirin isn’t even really a regular jutsu. Sasuke is using a Chidori to call down actual, natural lightning. He manipulates it with his Chidori, but that’s it. Everything else, from the power and speed of the technique, comes from the lightning itself. It’s a different class of jutsu because it basically isn’t even a jutsu. The Kirin is just as much a jutsu as using a Rasengan to collapse a building onto someone would be.

There's a non canon version when Hagoromo used it on Hamura to snap him out of the genjutsu by Kaguya before awakening the DMS and the Rinnegan simultaneously, 6 Paths Sage Mode activate to boost it's power.

I think zetsu explains what kirin is properly in the fight against itachi
It is not an evolution of the Chidori since Sasuke only uses the Chidori to attract actual lightning down to him. The attack itself isn’t a Chidori.
Wish Kakashi would've kept both sharingan, I know he's more op without them cause he can use more chakra but he already got the second sharingan when Obito died somehow what if he just kept it and also got a chakra boost from Obito as a final gift, bro Kakashi would be op af with both those ms sharingan but could go blind... :/ no way around it guess he's just better without them sadly.

It doesn’t. Sasuke literally had to copy Lee’s speed with the Sharingan when learning the Chidori. If the Chidori just gave you a speed boost, that whole step wouldn’t have been necessary to begin with.

People can still throw weapons at you, and you can't sense inanimate objects unless they are laced with chakra.
@@marcusfrazier4923 the speed boost from both chidori and sage mode would make ranged weapons not laced with chakra pretty ineffective or unlikely to hit.
However sage mode let's you sense where people are and where they are moving too. If I sense some ones arm moving in a throwing maneuver there is a good chance they are throwing something yeah?

@@marcusfrazier4923 Water chakra can be applied to a person's body to act as a sturdy shield of armour and can withstand many physical attacks. It can even be passed onto other people and weapons. if you aren't using chakra to enhance the weapon then it shouldn't take much chakra to negate said weapons use.
However similarly, if the weapon isn't coated in chakra and chakra wasn't used in the attack then it's just a normal ass weapon thrown with normal strength, I think it would be incredibly difficult to even hit some one with sage mode and a chidori in the given circumstances.
Either you coat the weapon in chakra in which it can be sensed, or you diminish the actual speed and damage the weapon can cause which depending on the enemies chakra control may fail to even damage them. And even then the sage practitioner would still be able to sense that you threw "something" because of them sensing your movements. Which would likely allow them to maneuver.
@@marcusfrazier4923 Sage mode grants insane sensory ability and danger perception. No where is it stated or implied that Sage mode can't sense things that don't have chakra in them. Otherwire normal shurikens would have struck Kabuto several times. Also why do they need to sense those inanimate objects when they can just see it and dodge it.

The first thing I thought of when you said that Sasuke could theoretically use his kagatsuchi (I probably spelled it wrong) with any of his other shaped chidoris was chidori senbon with scary fire
There are minor differences between Chidori and Raikiri (Power and chakra efficiency) that are enough to make it go from A rank to S rank
Sasuke's character was the only character that makes sense. Sasuke's and Madara's logic in the end game made more sense than Naruto's

It’s not technically a Chidori, but compared to the others it’s a much easier technique as it doesn’t rely on dojutsu to be effective. Of course I’m talking about Purple Lightning, it’s a very good jutsu.

The tunnel vision issue could also be resolved with shadow clones similar to how pain used his all we need is a clone with a Birds Eye view and one clone to launch the attack like boruto sorta did

Tailed Beast Bomb inspired Rasengan which inspired Chidori when Kakashi failed to apply lightning to Rasengan.
Imagine if that theme continued. Someone who couldn't sharpen their Chakra and or use Lightning style like that, or simply couldn't get the kind of speed going needed for a quick strike and compensates with power and another element up the rung with a fire punch Jutsu.
I find it funny we saw the chidori fueled with sage charka so soon into the franchise before we ever thought of adding sage chakra into the rasengan.
I can tell you still have strong passion for Naruto but don't be afraid to completely make the other channel your main focus I can tell you're really pushing to add more anime to your Channel take that risk man and I'll support

Purple Lightning isn’t a Chidori. It’s a move that was created that’s similar to a Chidori due to the fact that Kakashi can no longer use the Chidori since he lost his Sharingan.

As a veteran Naruto fan for the last 15 years I must say this list is quite good. However, the Kirin is technically directed using a Chidori so I think it should've been on the list maybe as an honorable mention as it's not called chidori or raikiri. Also, the chidori is an A rank jutsu while the Raikiri is an S rank jutsu meaning that apparently there is an actual observed difference between them. Lastly thanks for preferring Kakashi as a character, you're not biased; you're absolutely right lol
