Actually it's because Minato only came up with the initial Rasengan. Naruto was the one that improved on the Rasengan with the Rasenshuriken and then all the other variants he has.
You should explain Kakashi's purple lightning since he can't use the Sharingan anymore. just a thought
Not much to explain. It's just essentially the same jutsu as Chidori with the same function, but just different colors and not requiring the Sharingan. It's basically just the even more refined successor to the Chidori.

You forgot to mention that the chidori requires constant chakra where as the Rasengan does not
So, if Kakashi made this jutsu by trying to add Lightning to the Rasengan, but it's worse than the Rasengan, why wouldn't he just always use the Rasengan? It's more powerful, quieter, and requires no handsigns.

Rasengan is not more powerfull than the chidori. They just have different purposes. The rasengan is an explosive technique while the chidori is a cutting/thrusting technique. A person can survive a direct hit from rasengan even though he will be severely injured but a direct hit from a chidori is a guarantee kill. You can't survive without your heart (unless you are Kakuzu lol) or your head.
I get your point. But I will say, the Rasengan can be lethal, even the base one, as shown when Jiraiya killed one of the Pains with it.
Ethan Schmidt Surely. In my opinion they both are powerfull. They are just different but have the same power. Chidori is better in some circustances but the Resengan is better in other cenarios. Against Kakuzu for example the chidori is not effective since he have 5 hearts and he can repair his own body while the rasengan wouldnt kill but it would make him unable to move anymore and then you can go and kill him. That's why Kakashi was having trouble with him and then Naruto came and used the rasenshuriken and finished the fight. Kakashi still had to finish him of with Raikiri tough because resenshuriken didnt kill him. It all depends on the situation.

I swear originally when chidori was revealed in chuunin exams, it was a different jutsu. Kakashi said something about it being based on supercharging the cells in your hand with chakra and hitting something with it very fast.
Later in the series like noticeably in the kage summit arc, Sasuke starts to use the Chidori without the use of any hand signs.
I'm guessing it's because he's mastered it to that point that he don't need to.

If I recall correctly in the Naruto OS and Shippuden, Kakashi has mentioned a couple of times that he has a slightly lower than average chakra reserves(for a jonin especially), which is why his use of the sharingan and chidori is limited to 4 times a day.

Is there any logic to the handsigns? I used to think they looked pretty cool but as time went on they kinda faded out. I know the more chakra control a person has the less seals they need and all that stuff. But, for example the Monkey seal is the final seal used in both Raikiri and Chidori, so do other lightning based techs use it? Or is it simply because the jutsu are so similar? All of Sasuke's fire style techniques end with the Tiger seal (in Part 1 at least, in Part 2 he occasionally doesn't use signs for them). Itachi meanwhile is a little more random, sometimes it's Tiger sometimes it's Horse or Rooster. Madara sometimes uses Horse also. Kisame ends on Ram for a lot of his Water techniques while Tobirama uses... Tiger. Kakashi uses Ram for his Doton techniques.. so there doesn't seem to be a lot rhyme or reason. Other than Tiger being for Fire. Maybe it's more biological and it differs from person to person on how they need to mold the chakra to use it in the fashion the want? The Uchiha just use Tiger a lot because they're all related and biologically similar. That'd be the safe bet. My observations might be a little off as it's been months if not years since I've seen Naruto on a consistent basis. Not to mention the hand signs are tough to spot sometimes, IF they even use them. Couple that with the fact that some of them look very similar (Ram & Tiger for example) and it can be a mess trying to apply logic to them.

Chidori has one of the most iconic sounds in all of anime when it comes to signature moves by characters.
My God explain if Hokage naruto has the six paths power, because to be honest, looks like Sasuke remained with a FUCKING Rinnegan and Naruto losts everthing that make him OP.

Actually failed RasenShuriken. Kakashi created Chidori because his teacher also fail attained change of element after change of shape. It seem easier to control completed elemental chakra rather than change it while chakra violently rotating around.

There is no elemental default to RasenShuriken. Naruto has wind style so he use Wind Chakra to complete RasenShuriken and named it Futon RasenShuriken. After he got hold of another element, he use different element than wind to create RasenShuriken. For example, Lava chakra create Yoton RasenShuriken, not RasenShuriken ft.Lava Style.

RasenShuriken has no default chakra. Whatever elemental used to create it, it only add "-ton" surname to name newly created RasenShuriken.
RasenShuriken, in Minato's theory, was combination of two kind of chakra transformation, extreme Chakra Shaping and great amount of any kind of Elemental Chakra. Nowhere it stated that it have to use Wind as its chakra nature. And later, Naruto use all kind of element to create it.

What would be the aftermath if the Kamui and the Rasenshuriken was to be mixed, would the user's body part that got hit be teleported to the Kamui dimension, or would the Rasenshuriken's destructiveness destroy the body part before it was teleported.
this can be also related to the Rasengan, if hit would the Kamui technique absorb the area that was hit directly by the Rasengan or the collateral damage area of the Rasengan's damage output. but great video as always SwagKage.

I always thought that adding lighting nature to a rasengan like Naruto did with wind would just basically be a chidori except in it's most potentially powerful base state a chidori can get without any tampering of six paths chakra, etc.

I just realized it maybe possible to use chidori with sage mode, this maybe be evident in the fact that when madara used sage mode with both eyes missing, he was capable of reacting to external threat's so sage mode maybe able to negate the tunnel vision effect
people asume the rasengan is stronger because of the water tank scene but if you think about it, the rasengan spread it's damage destroying the opposite side of the tank but the chidori focused of one spot, meaning its more deadly and can pierce pretty much anything (exaggeration) while the rasengan can damage by dispersing it's power. They're both useful in their own ways but the chidori is more effective to kill someone with.

You forgot one variant, it was used by Kakashi against Pain and I don't remember if he ever uses it again, but it's Lightning Beast Running Technique, where Kakashi forms a hound that runs after the enemy.

Bit late to this video but I believe that the Six Paths/Lament/Black Chidori are a result of infusing any form of nature energy into the Chidori, as the only times Sasuke has been shown using them have been under the influence of either the Curse Mark or after he received his Six Paths power up. This could also serve as an explanation for Darui's Black Lightning, as it is implied that it is a result of the tattoo or mark on his shoulder given to him by the Third Raikage, as a possible lightning-release variant of a curse mark.
I would apply and combine a Sound Genjutsu to the Chidori when they hear the sound the fall into the Genjustu freezing there then gets hit with the Chidori.
You know what made no sense when guy was explaining the chidori, when sasuke first used it and he said "it's the weapon of choice for assassination".....?? LIKE HOW!?? the chidori is really loud, bright and needs hand signs and it messes up your vision because off how bright it is??, Assassination is to kill someone instantly and quietly, without them even knowing until it's too late the chidori would instantly notify anyone off your location and intentions......honestly I beleve the rasengan is the choice for assassination, it's relatively quiet, dosent need had sings or anything once mastered and as show by minato if skilled enough can be activated almost instantly and shown by naruto can be made various sizes......the rasengan is the weapon off choice for assassination

Aziel Cardinal I feel you but the rasengan isn't an assassination technique. It could kill, but rarely. The rasengan is a jutsu made to do blunt damage to "defeat" someone. The chidori was created to "kill" as it pierces and plunges. The chidori has even been shown to take people out (kill) more then the rasengan. The rasengan is powerful and destructive and quiet but lacks the ability to give a definite kill. The chidori is just as powerful but lacks silence and destructive ability but has great killing potency. The chidori can even be used to get multiple people in it's base form before being finished while the rasengan disperses after one hit. Rasengan vs chidori is like a hammer vs a knife and while you can kill someone with a hammer most definetly cause of blunt trauma... You're more efficient with killing with a knife as it pierces.

I find it pretty cool and also hilarious that Naruto is the kind of world where even if you fail at something, that failure can still work out. Kakashi tried and failed to add lightning release to the Rasengan, and that screwup became one of the series' most iconic abilities ever.

In the original naruto series at around episode 90 or so when Jiraiya was teaching the rasengan to naruto, he said that only him and the 4th hokage minato knows how to do the rasengan. but kakashi made the chidori when he was just a teenager, and for him to have created the chidori he had to have known rasengan. so i wonder who made the mistake here... or maybe jiraiya just didnt know kakashi knew rasengan
Yes, but by the way I understood it, the Rasengan basically has the "perfect" shape manipulation due to Minato basing it on the Tailed Beasts attacks which were considered the most powerful. And Minato was not able to add a nature manipulation to it, due to it being so difficult. Furthermore, Chidori is basically a weaker form of shape manipulation than the Rasengan, just basically putting lighting chackra into your hand and attacking the enemy with it. So I thought it was nowhere near the Rasengan from a shape manipulation POV. Furthermore, the Raikiri is basically a stronger Chidori which Kakashi perfected because although not having the "perfect" shape manipulation of the Rasengan, he made it into a more blade-like attack. So Raikiri, although having the same level of nature manipulation, is stronger due to it being like a lighting blade, while the Chidori is simply lighting put into your hand. Am I anywhere near the main idea?

Flying Rajin - This is a Teleportation Jutsu Invented by Second Hokage " Tobirama Senju" Later this Technique gets developed by Fourth Hokage " Minato Namikaze ". This Teleportation is easily done by when the caster places the Technique's *mark* to a certain point/area/part they can teleport to that certain point.
Similar to Flying Rajin are Kamui and Amenotjikara.
Kamui - Kamui is a visual prowess of the Dojutsu "Mangekyou Sharingan" and only four Ninja's has done this - Obito , Kakashi , Madara , Shin. This is a Space-Time Ninjutsu as you can use this to travel through different dimensions. Kamui can also be used to pass through anything as simply just passing your body part to another dimension and that body part can pass through anything because it doesn't consist any solid.
Amenotjikara - This is a Space-Time Ninjutsu as well. This is a Visual Prowess of Dojutsu "Sharrinegan" & "Rinne-Sharingan". This is same as Kamui but you can't go through anything. This Technique is more better than Kamui as well.
originally the chidori/raikiri was just pure chakra and not a lightning release so there were even more similarities to rasengan. gotta love retcons

You sounded like you had some disdain for the lightning cable technique. I am sure that it has some unique and valuable uses. I can imagine it being effective on large groups of enemies because it can potentially deal with all of them at once. The best araikiri could do is decimate one person. Lightning cable can potentially wipe out everyone and just have to hit two people to be already more effective than raikiri
