Thank you for posting. I'm updating an old house. We still have the same mirror which is over 55 years old. I'm also having problems with oxidation of the silver which is producing that dark cloudiness. This is the perfect solution. I'm not ready to invest $200 to $300 for a mirror at the moment.
What an elegant touch! I'm going to Home Depot to see what tile options they have in my community. Thank you for sharing this. I am wondering what you did when you came to the clips that hold the mirror in place?
Check and see at your local habitat for humanity or via fb marketplace. I found enough for my feature wall/bathroom mirror for 1/3 the cost for a current subway tile style.
They have beautiful little tiles at the dollar store...You get a whole sheet for $1.00...Also the best ever adhesive is E6000, from( of course) the dollar store. ... $70 seems awfully high...
The dark spots is a type of oxidation from amonia cleaner. when cleaning the mirror just dont let cleaner drip to the bottom otherwise use another type of cleaner. Watch out for brands that are amominia based.

You gave excellent tips that I never would have thought about ....***^***
Loved this mirror idea. Thank you for sharing it.
Happy to not see another framing of a mirror. This is a unique and beautiful look. 💕
Thank you! I've loved it since doing it.
Nice work👌
Beautiful mirror🥰

Nice work - - creative and I like when you insulted those stupid pliers :)

Actually I've seen your response to that. And now I'm wondering which Dremel tool attachment you used to grind some off the back.

What is the caulk you used that dried clear?
Hi! Thanks for the tutorial! Is this renter friendly?! Will the adhesive damage the mirror when it needs to be removed?!
DearVoguey I really don't know. My husband said the caulk adhesive will soften with a heat gun, but I'd look for some videos to make sure!
VERY NICE LOVE

Where in the store did you find the it ?
Neat! That would be a great source.
Yes E6000 is always my go to i usually use a dab of hot glue in the center and e6000 on the edges the hot glue holds it in place till it dries

What about working around the mirror clips ?????
Use a dremel tool or something similar to knock off a little of the material on the back of the tile for the clip.
What did you do with the little holders on the mirror. Did you pull them. Off somehow?
I was curious as how she got around the holders on the mirror
@@carrienippert5580 I took a dremmel tool and ground off what I needed from the back of the tile to clear the clips.

Did it not have those obtrusive screw /plastic things to secure it to the wall?
Looks nice!
On the sides, how did you get them to stay in place until the tiles glue dried?
The sides were easy since the bottom row dried first, then you are stacking on the sides. The top is what is tricky.
So what do you do if when you get to the end and the tile is too big?
What spacers did you use? Where can i find them? I just found those X shaped tile spacer...
I used small craft sticks for the bottom, and nothing in between.
How has it held up? I've been told to stay away from "custom" brand products and I'm just wondering how has it held up after 2 years
It is just as good as the day I put it up. I haven't had to touch it.
Yes, I say "mirror" funny. I also can't say "rural." :)
Great
How did you handle those silver clips that holds the mirror to the wall?
I took a Dremel tool to the back of them.
How do you deal with the mirror clips
I took a dremmel tool and ground off what I needed from the back of the tile to clear the clips.
Is there a way to cover the plastic mirror clips?
Most important part of the project for me and she skipped it!
Hi where did u get this tile product from?
2 inch accent tile at Lowes or Home Depot.
how did you tile over the mirror clips?
james Last I had to notch a little in the back of the four tiles that went over the clips.
i like that idea of framing the mirror. What did you use to notch out the tile?
@@jdjtv Use a dremel tool, or something similar to notch the back of the tile.
james Last - Good question!!!
