- “It's International Women's Day and Theresa May has always very much been someone who has stood up for women's rights and I think she’s probably making a point resigning today.”
Theresa May "will be a loss to the House of Commons", says former cabinet minister Sir David Lidington, but her decision to stand down is "not surprising". Times Radio's Adam Boulton looks back on her 27 years as an MP.

Why doesn't she immediately resign so we can have a by-election?
But the thing is, does anyone really care
Jump before you lose your seat !
It's a safe seat. For a Tory. She is not a Tory and won't be missed.
@@tadcastertory1087there is no such thing as a safe seat for the Tories now.
@@Lostinjp All of those corrupt MPs will soon be removed,as will all those with their fake tittles and honours, power will be returned to the people, along with our freedom sovereignty & laws of the land.
Now where did I put that metaphor to do with rats and deckchairs?
We can only hope that more rats follow (from all parties) now that the ship is sinking.
What a loss she will be 🤥
"No May Election"
Ok I'll give you that, that was pretty funny wordplay.
To a coffin in the basement which contains soil from the old country.
Absolutely no loss there, worse pm ever.
Worst PM ever apart from Truss, Bozo and Roland Rat.
women and children first....
Shame she doesn’t remember her best act! Grenfell Tower! 3 days she was locked up in her Mercedes, while half of London was trying to rescue the residents! 100 didn’t make it, all of the survivors are homeless til today!!!!
Very true. She was a disgrace. She is now jumping ship. Good riddance.
What a shame.
I am not surpised, whether you are Tory or not she has had a successful career in politics, like Gordon Brown for Labour.
Brexit is Brexit NOT ! TM
She doesn't want to sit on the opposition bench.
She was the epitome of Party over Country. She began the capitulation to the hard right.
She's a deep state LibLabCon leftist.
The worst .....a key architect of all our misery ....NEVER VOTE TORY
She decried her own party as the 'Nasty Party' when she was the principal architect as Home Secretary of making party even nastier.
Those such as May have brought about the complete collapse and destruction of a once genuine conservative party.
The Conservative have always been the Nasty Party. Their thin veneer of propriety has ill-concealed a vast engine of counterproductive cruelty. You only have to look back to the Nineteenth Century Tory Party to realise this. Britain needs a genuine conservative party, but the Tories have never been it.
Well they will lose the seat
Architect of the poor brexit deal and NI farce good riddance.
All the MPs should stand down. You are deluded will not be missed.
She was a good mp but she was given a difficult task as PM to introduce Brexit and therefore she was Mp at the wrong time and would of faired better as Pm if not for Brexit as her deal in some ways was better than Borris' but the party did not want her soft agreement and went for a hard Brexit putty we could not of left the EU with the best of both deals
BINO woman now jumping ship.
She earns of weapons and legal cannabis farms via companys like gw pharma and bae
She’ll not be missed.
She is a legal version of a gangster haha little 🧹
She was an awful human being
🐀🚢🌊
Worst PM in living memory and that's saying something considering the competition...
Surely that award goes to Truss !
@malcolmstockbridge2569 the thing is, the Tories are such a shambles that you can make a credible argument for PM in the last 14 years being the worst in living memory.
The rot started with Bliar and has continued ever since.
Any of them from T. Blair to R. Sunak are frontrunners!
@@JP-ve7pp I wrote the same but my post was removed. Maybe it was because I wrote B l i a r.
Oh no, it's a hostile environment for beautiful Tories. Rats are abandoning a sinking ship. Lol
