- While many Utahns put up signs to keep solicitors from knocking on their doors, a man in Sandy says the knocks keep coming. He decided to Get Gephardt, who explores what those signs really mean.

I actually love it when they ignore my "No Soliciting" sign because I get to spend the next hour pretending to be their next sale, it's almost like a fun little hobby. I come outside and pretend to be interested to engage a complete stranger that I didn't invite to my home, then ask a lot of gullible leading questions, and pretend to be the kind of low hanging fruit they think they're going to close a deal on, before revealing that they literally wasted every bit of their efforts and got clowned for an hour after I say "well thanks, I really appreciate all the info, maybe this will teach you a valuable lesson about ringing doorbells that say no soliciting on them" before going back inside and closing the door.
Just don’t answer??
Those annoying solar goobers start with "We're not selling anything"
Love that he doesn’t want solicitors but has a Vivint system haha.
👋 😂
My dog heard the ring doorbell chime in this video and barked before running to the door! Lol
They just receive a pent up enraged cuss out that i havent been able to release at work because "professionalism"
I removed my doorbell. It has been helping.
Stop it, Colton. Nothing is stopping someone from knocking.
@@sneksteppy The next step is installing foam on the door to quiet the knocks.
@@sneksteppy Sure you can. The way my house is built prevents people from even being able to touch the front door. No door bell. No knocking.
@@shammydammy2610 Being obtuse is not cute, Karen.
That’s not going to stop them from knocking loudly. They tend to get aggressive. Most times they will come back another day.
Nobody can get in trouble anywhere in the world for disobeying a no soliciting site now a private property no trespassing type sign those ones need to be obeyed no soliciting no go
Wrong.

Has a Vivant sign. Door to door Security system
My cousin is a true smartass .. she has a sign on her door. That sign say's GO AWAY, I DON'T WANT YOUR CHIT THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING !!!
Soliciting is protected free speech, trespassing is not. Ditch the no soliciting sign and get a no trespassing sign.
A "no soliciting" sign removes the assumed validity of someone to be on your property. But you're right, a sign should be more explicit: "No Soliciting. If you are here to solicit, this serves as a notice that your business here is rejected and by not leaving, you are trespassing." Still not going to stop some people though.
@@The_Real_Grand_Nagusmaybe they'll smarten up when they end up in jail.
It's not protected if you are coming onto private property where you are not wanted! Get your facts straight!
@@craigklein5563actually yes it is if they don’t have a sign saying private property no trespassing per the Supreme Court soliciting is freedom of speech
They probably don’t even know what the word soliciting means.
My doorbell is disconnected & I'm not fixing it
I just dont answer the door thats it 😂😂😂😂
They keep ringing
I wonder if people know what “soliciting” means…
Try a no trespassing sign.
I think they don't know what No Soliciting means😂
No, its actaully that they know must people with no soliciting signs dont actually know what it means becuase they are just as likely to buy as any other home
We've got laws against it here in Fort Worth but the police don't bother to enforce it. They'll take your call but they never bother to show up and do anything about it.
Dang almost like they have better things to do then to tend to every whiny white person
This is how women feel at the club when you approach and pitch
I have two no soliciting stickers on my doorbell camera. Plus huge no soliciting sticker on my door and side door window. Can you believe these idiots still knock on my door.
"oh I just happened to be letting my German Shepherd out at the same time".
My favorite.....I'm not selling you a roof, we are offering a free inspection, not soliciting!
Stand behind the door and rack it. They'll leave
I want that sign. Also I need to change my phone message to say the same thing to sales people.
It works in Texas.
That's because in many Texas cities it's illegal to ignore the No Soliciting sign.
I'm almost impressed there are still some that will get off their butt to hustle for cash instead of pretending to be a media mogul on the internet.😜
I know you basically don't even have to leave your house anymore.
They need jailtime. I don't know maybe they'll smarten up.
I know the pain 🤣 🤣🤣
Put a "warning for the dog" is better
🛸🛸🛸🛸
Can you trust pass a certain group of people
These are also peoples jobs too
That is a big sign?
Many years ago when I did a short lived stint selling door to door, I found that most sales were done at homes with 'No Soliciting' signs on them. Go figure!
Bear spray
I'm required to knock by my employer. If I don't, I'm fired.
You can be hella sure I'm knocking on the door. Regardless of any signs.
Oh please. Does your employer make you wear a body cam or something? Nice try blaming it on someone else though.
Even with no trespassing signs?
Especially if your elderly...
Imagine hating American capitalism so much you put a sign in your front yard, but then you look at your phone all day seeing adds lol last time I heard also a contract needs to be signed
I don't know where you "heard" that from, but that is incorrect. Even just buying something at the store is a contract. The basic elements required for a contract to be legally enforceable are: mutual assent, expressed by a valid offer and acceptance; adequate consideration; capacity; and legality
I can’t believe this is on the news. 😂 Karen’s
Agreed. Slow news day.
insane that people wont allow charities or people looking to get bills passed.
leave the man alone
No, if he doesn’t want to be bothered by members of society then he can move into the woods. I respect no soliciting signs, but door hangers are considered advertising. So you’re at least getting one of those. How did men become so fragile that they can’t have a 60 second conversation on their front porch. It’s pathetic.
@@lonestarrk9308What's pathetic is that you feel the need to bother people at their place of residence just to get their money.
