I firmly believe that if we had seen Monica be rescued from her PoV, Edelgard would have been cast in a holy radiant light at her back with doves/eagles flying behind her. Edelgard herself would look as majestic as Monica sees her as.

It's huberts job at least, nothing wrong with being dedicated to your work, like we see him back talk to edelgard about her plan being stupid at the beginning, only to fall back in line because it's his job to do as she commands.
Monica is literally crazy, like this goes beyond the feudal code of serving your liege, for a noble she is bottom of the pyramid, Bernadetta is above her a countess, hubert is twice over with being Marquis and Ferdinand triple with being a duke, like it's not her job, and it's not her rank, like someone of her rank should be helping Bernie as her direct superior, not the emperor unless explicitly chosen as an advisor, which house Vestra is and Och is not.
Tldr: Huber enjoys is work, Monica is batshit crazy
@@thatonejoey1847 Monica may be a little crazy around Edelgard but she is perfectly sane and capable enough to be Edelgard's left hand woman. Edelgard trusted her enough despite her station being so much lower because she was talented and capable which explained why Monica became so infatuated with Edelgard. At the very least, for a crazy simp, she still knows how to work efficiently. Hubert really did not have much to critique on her besides her infatuation.
@@jamesfzy also Edelgard saves her life, whether its by her directly on Scarlet Blaze, or because Jeritza (who serves Edelgard) directs his class and Shez to the fortress where she is at.

I really like how the story has changed that much just because Byleth could not kill Shez, Monica was rescued so Balthus and Hapi's paralogue is not as the same as ir was on Three Houses and now we don't play as a new professor, but as a student, and the introduction of characters like Holst is really thrilling. I'm looking forward when the full game finally comes out :D

@@TheOnlyCelciAndDontYouForgetIt I really don't know what to expect, after all on Three Houses we got a very deep history with only a little of context, now we have an amazing intro cutscene and we know better the history, so perhaps they will try to surpass Three Houses' lore.

As a Hubert and Dedue fan, I 100% agree. People need to stop saying that Hubert is a simp. Edelgard literally says that Hubert is absolutely trustworthy in her dialogue to Shez at the camp base in the prologue. She says he's her most trusted person. It's absolutely mutual how much Edelgard and Hubert trust and rely upon each other.

I see a lot of people saying the world is better without Byleth but what it really is is that the world is better with Shez in it.

I think this world is just nicer in general. TOTALLY different situation than what’s in normal 3 houses.

When it comes to added content, all I care about with this game is giving Colleen O'Shaughnessey a chance to shine. I was outraged that her performance in Three Houses was so short, but here she can voice a character she never had the chance to and have an expanded role. Even if Monica is not the most well rounded character, her performance makes it much more memorable.

@@marcjehle2480 the reason was because of the chibi icons for the map screen. Kronya had an allied (blue) version. However, from what I understand her model didn't separate the head, which is generally required for playable units because their head needs to be able to change for the different classes. So it's kind of up in the air right now.

Something to note: the white flowers mentioned are probably lilies which are synonymous with sapphic love in Japan.
Also why is the Black Eagles house so gay. Like every single one of them has an explicitly gay or ambigiously gay ending in three houses. You can even get them all paired up nicely: LindhartxCasper, DorotheaxPetra, FerdinandxHubert, EdelgardxF-Byleth. Leaving Bernie as the sole leftover.
The other houses have maybe 2 or 3 if you squint gay characters/relationships.
There's no paired endings in Three Hopes.

I can’t believe that it’s hinted that Edelgard knew where she was being held and let her die and be replaced by Kronya in three houses
Edelgard couldn't find her in the Three Houses timeline due to the bandit leader living and Byleth being made a Professor over Jeritza.
I think it adds to the complexity of Edelgard's character in 3 Houses, and why she's so quick to trust Byleth. She's puts up a front of stoicism, and makes difficult and arguably amoral decisions, ie not rescuing Monica because doing so might reveal her plans to TWSITD. But internally, she wants someone she can show her humanity to.
That said, I do think letting Monica die in 3 Houses was messed up.
