- Using an oil bar and a wash of acrylic paint, this is a very effective and simple technique to explore. Use different types of plastic for transferring the paint onto the paper.
I use a 200gsm paper with a slight texture to the surface, suitable for oils of acrylic.
Remove the cardboard frame mask before applying the wash of colour or the paint will leak underneath the edges.
I love the unplanned/surprise marks that can be achieved with a printing technique like this. You just cant achieve the same quality/type of marks by applying the media directly to the substrate, love it!
Thanks so much glad you enjoyed it.
Like a rorschach - one can see whatever they want in it. So inspiring
Exactly, it's a great way to exercise your imagination.
Chapeau!
Love this one!
Glad you like it!
You always hold me captivated every second of the way. There's always a surprise element waiting to reveal itself.
Thanks for watching
I guess you are a visual person. You know here to Draw the lines and make all those marks to the painting make sense. That's remarcable. I like that frame. I'll make one for me. Thanks
Thank you, it's just practice and finding your own style, this is a good way to develop your imagination and produce interesting work.
Simply great ! I just didn’t know that acrylic paint can be used over oilbar marks. Thanks for the lesson ! 🙏
It's a good technique and you can get some great results, use plenty of water.
Thank you very much ! It seems that I don’t stop learning ! 🤗
Thank You 🌻

Glad you find them inspiring, thanks for watching.
I love your work, thank you
Many thanks!
Of course it was filmed live. What else would it be?
And, as usual, it’s fabulous ❤️
Thanks very much
Dan. Been watching your videos for a while now - you have taught me a lot. Wanted to let you know of a method I discovered by accident recently - that you may want to utilize in a video. On paper - do a design in oil pastel ( usually bright colors work best, yellow and orange) and then cover either partially or completely with black oil paint, and then use a metal edge like a razor blade or whatever is flat and metal…to scrape the black oil paint, leaving a nice bright yet textural surface that is left by the oil pastel. Apologies if you already did a video like this. Cheers and thanks. J.
Interesting thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion, might give that a try.
This is very nice as it is. Also good technique to get creativity going. Thanks
Thank you! 😊
