- Had a few technical issues with a couple of demos today so I thought I'd film one of these large charcoal improvised sketches, it's sometimes good to let go and see what happens and loosen up those marks, try not to draw, just allow the movement of your hand, arm and shoulder to translate into the charcoal stick, keep turning the paper to balance the composition and finish when it becomes too cluttered, work with positive and negative shapes allowing the white of the paper to form shapes, use a variety of marks, drawing with the side and edges of the charcoal stick.
Materials: 200gsm A1 cartridge paper
Compressed charcoal stick (medium)
Quel plaisir merci
You're welcome, Thanks for watching
Thankyou 👍🏻
You’re welcome 😊
I don't know if what the artist feels passes always to the paintings or draws. And the people who see it visualize the same. But this what a delightful moment. Thanks for share, Dan 😁😍👍
Thanks very much, I appreciate your support and I'm pleased that you enjoyed this demo.
Your art and style resonate and speak to me in ways i have difficulty in describing. Watching u work is quite magical

Thanks for sharing Dan, you are a great inspiration.
I appreciate that!
This is inspiring, interesting and....well, kind of amazing! Thank you.
This is quite different from a lot of your images, but definitely in your style; I love it. You will possibly disagree, but I can see the pig, from Pink Floyd, a fish with mouth wide open,a clown, and the best part of one octave on a piano keyboard. It's very pleasing.
I can't get used to the fact that your videos come to such an abrupt end, It almost makes me jump. It's the American TV thing. Jasper Carrot once said the he was in the USA watching TV. On a it, man was starting to say, "Darling, your eyes are like Margarine" as the adverts came on, without a short gap between the two. Don't worry, I shall catch up in time. Smile
Great feedback, I almost need to look closer at these pieces because I'm filming each day and don't spend time to really analyse the results. Funny you can see the pig, I'm playing around with ideas inspired by George Orwells Animal Farm so maybe the pig appeared as a result. I like the way these compositions spark different interpretations, makes them worthwhile. Sorry for the abrupt endings but for this month the daily demos are filmed as live as I can, with no edits.
