    4:00 - KA Portable shower
We decided to replace our very nice, but too-much-for-us Joolca water system with a much simpler KickAss Portable Camp Shower.

We have converted a 2018 Ford Transit 250 - medium roof - 148' long wheelbase. No standard plumbing that needs to be winterized, but will include a bathroom with shower, kitchen, living space/bedroom. And I am wiring it for both shore power and a lithium-based system all powered by Ecoflow lithium battery packs - Delta Max & 2 Delta 1300's,.

Ones a heater and ones a pump so hardly comparable!

I obviously was saying I wanted a simpler solution. And I did not show or have the heater, so I was comparing two ways of pumping water - so it is comparable.

For me with an off grid cabin that I frequent probably 15-20 x/ yr for a few days on avg., the Joolca made more sense as i could make it somewhat permanent set up and have the hot water, but yeah i could see the KA filling a niche as well. I'm glad i found this

simple is better. Wife insisted on an interior shower. I created a shower system in our Runaway Rouser. I tend to over engineer my builds, but it works well.

I had something very similar having to heat up water to take a shower was a pain. I will be buying the Joolca along with there dual tent.

The water heater is the main component to the joolca setup. If you do not need hot water than any pump and shower head would be a better option.
Do you still use the joolca heater with a different pump and head?

I never had the Joolca heater. I only had the pump and the two different heads. I will never carry propane with me and that heater just takes up too much space. We camp almost 100% of the time at a campground, so we have hot showers. And we have a shower, of sorts, in our van, and we can rinse off whenever we want to.

@@charlesmoman Gotcha. Totally understandable. I need the heater as I disperse/rustic camp. But I do like your option for just rinsing. Super compact. I like it.

KICKASS Portable 12V Camping Shower with Lithium Battery is only 40 bucks aud, compared to 600 bucks for the joolca.
edit: KICKASS Portable 12V Camping Shower doesnt heat the water for you.

The Joolca Nomad system is a do-it-all system that you are referring to ($600) literally includes everything, even the kitchen sink! It has the hot water on demand heater, hoses, pump, faucet, shower head, and stand. All pieces nest together for storage. To compare the two you would need to include the heater and various connectors, wash tub (which KickAss does not offer) ect to be fair.
The Joolca is meant for bougie camping and cooking where you might be remote for a spell. It is all-inclusive and very deluxe. For me, it would work PERFECTLY in my short school bus that I converted to a po white trash RV. I already have the KickAss folding shower enclosure mounted to the rearmost driver's side, and was using an older Coleman hot water on demand setup I purchased second hand, but it has become problematic with a faulty thermostat, and I do not trust it. It is also a bit fiddly and cumbersome. The Joolca is a dream come true for me. I intend to pick one up soon...off-season.

Good video, but hate to burst your bubble, I'm in Australia, and a very experienced camper and adventurer. Joolca products are far superior in quality, design and reliability, I personally use Joolca, and recomend their products, whereas I have used Kickass products in the past, and have had failures especially with the Hot Water systems/pumps etc, mostly when in remote locations.
No quality nor reliability in their products
    Thanx

No bubble bursting here. If it worked for me, it worked. Maybe if I bought a second one it would fail, but when I have one in hand that is working did that is what I report. I know Joolca is great, but it just did not work for our situation. Our Ford transit works wonderfully, but a guy down the street might have one where the transmission blew up after 10,000 miles.
