Our DIY Transit camper van was always in the way, so we decided to make a parking pad for it where the pool used to be. So you are saying the inside dimensions not outside dimensions are 72 inches by 96 inches and the hight is 72 inches in the center. I'm trying to find if this model would suit my wife and I. We are both over weight somewhat I'm about 6' 1" so I don't know or decided the bed arrangement. I thought about making it an L shape to make more floor space. Thanks for posting this video. 73

    Good video, but hate to burst your bubble, I'm in Australia, and a very experienced camper and adventurer. Joolca products are far superior in quality, design and reliability, I personally use Joolca, and recomend their products, whereas I have used Kickass products in the past, and have had failures especially with the Hot Water systems/pumps etc, mostly when in remote locations. No quality nor reliability in their products Thanx

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman Před 29 dny

      No bubble bursting here. If it worked for me, it worked. Maybe if I bought a second one it would fail, but when I have one in hand that is working did that is what I report. I know Joolca is great, but it just did not work for our situation. Our Ford transit works wonderfully, but a guy down the street might have one where the transmission blew up after 10,000 miles.

    Glad to hear from you again. Have enjoyed your videos. As one who just went from a small trailer to a van this spring, I wonder if your travels have changed with the van. With a trailer, I have always established a base for a few days and then took day trip excursions. With the van, there seems to be no need to come back to the same campsite. What has been your experience? A thought for a future video? P.S. really enjoyed your most important trip video.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman Před 2 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. It has been 6 or 7 months since our last video - the best trip one. I just do not have much to videotape about now. We are not interested in vlogging about our trips, because it takes the fun out of the trip for us. I came up with the idea for that video long ago, but we never got around to doing it. I think I lost s few subscribers because of it, but I have never cared about sub numbers and I do not monetize my videos anyway. Yes, sometimes because of the van we might not return to the campsite. The exception would be if a location was a major destination for us like Rocky Mountain NP or other national park. Blessings!

    Just get a keypad that has its own computer. When you send a signal aka with a keyfob or keypad it just sends a 12v or 5v pulse that you tie that wire into the lock button wire that locks or unlocks your doors on the inside of the car. Can add a keyfob or keypad by doing so, its fairly easy with certain aftermarket products.

    I have the insert version which does not have an ash pan. It's about 20 years old and came with the house we just bought. It runs for about 30 seconds and quits. I found a new controller board for it as all of the switches checked out OK. I found it on Amazon for $250. Napoleon wants $383. All of the parts are obscenely priced. Hopefully the new board will fix the problem.

      Using after market parts can be iffy. I just had my ignitor fail on me and I was going to buy the OEM Napolean ignitor for $147, but got a $30 part from Pellet Heads. It was an easy install and I am back in business. If I was replacing a board, I would probably get it from Amazon for ease of returning it if does not work. Good luck!

    Thanks for the video. I am also looking for Ford Transit alternator charging of my Ecoflow Delta Pro and have several questions: Was your DC-DC charger connected to CCP1 (60 amp, continuous) or to CCP2 (175 amp, ignition activated)? Where is the negative wire connected? Which model Victron DC-DC charger did you use? How many Watts are you getting into the Ecoflow when it is alternator charging?

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman Před 6 měsíci

      Yes, CCP1 was used. I am not sure where they connected the negative but probably to the frame under the seat, but I am just guessing. It is the 30A smart charger by Victron - I am sure you can see the branding on it in the video. I never have checked out imout - I rarely use it because the 400 watts of solar on the roof top off the Ecoflows usually.

    Hi, thank you for your video. The Maxxair Maxxfan 5100K from Amazon does not say that it is 12 volt and has 4 speeds, how did you plug and power from 12 volt outlet in Jackery. The max air maxxfan 6200k says 12 volt. I am trying to decide which one to get for my ford transit.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman Před 6 měsíci

      I am 100% sure that all MaxxAir fans are 12v. For the Runaway camper, I spliced a 12v cigarette plug to the wires of the MaxxAir and plugged into the Jackery. We now have a 2018 Ford Transit we converted to a camper van. Check out our van build series and look for episodes tray deal with electrical. I ran a pair of wire from the MaxxAir fan behind the walls back to a Blue Seas 12v fuse block. All of the puck lights and USB ports also ran to the fuse block. Then I spliced a pair of wires again to a 12v cigarette plug (and ran that to an Ecoflow Delta for power) and then ran that pair to the fuse block to the main negative and positive posts that feed power to the various lights, fan, etc. It was easy to do.
