Risk management is key....so is general common sense, the problem is sticking to the plans.
Also booklets confuse me lol so I will definitely be waiting for that video.
Nice, any recommendations for a dtg dealer?
Trevor does amazing work 🎉 cool dude as well.
It's all relative when you're marking up jobs based on quantity. We've done jobs for State of California in the past, where we only marked up 2%, but because it was like a 10,000,000 envelope order we still profited like $75,000. There is that risk though, and you definitely need to be able to front that kind of money to a vendor for production with the expectation that the customer is not going to pay you for 60 or 90 days, so you have to have the cash flow to tackle those kind of projects.
Is it possible to put in the contract that if they think something like the color is off, ect, and they want a re-print that the re-print would be charged at the cost of the materials?
Next time you get a big book quote request like that, let me know. This new shop I'm at has a lot of good capabilities when it comes to booklet production, so I might be able to save you some money.
How often is there a mistake though? 1 in every 5 jobs?
If there's a process you hate doing, don't just price it higher, stop doing it. It will make you hate the work and that's a bad road to go down
Yes, you are very underpriced for konica prints. You are basically doing what you described in this video 😆
In Austria +50% on top of the reseller price is a standard Quote. I understand the +100% mentality, but most of the Time you wont get the Job.
50% isn’t bad.
