    • Why Do I Have No Sound...
Virtual soundchecks are a great technique to get to grips with. They can either save you time when working regularly with one band or performance, or they can let you try out new techniques without the time limits or pressure of a band standing on the stage playing for you.
If you don’t know how to run a virtual soundcheck yet, it’s time to learn. It’s a must have skill for music mixing.
    In this video you’ll learn:
How to connect a computer running reaper to an M32 or X32.
How to record multitrack audio from the mixer into the DAW.
How to play that recorded multitrack back out, so that you can run a virtual soundcheck.

Hi! I have a bit of an issue. I set up a Midas m32 to reaper through a usb connected to a MacBook. I can record just fine. However, during the playback through the m32, the m32 faders don't affect the sound. The only way that I can change the sound level is through individual faders on reaper. Could it have something to do with the routing or is there a setting on the mixer board that I need to change?

Question, I am doing virtual sound check on Midas pro 2 everything works fine, but for some reason my microphone doesn’t to go to the reverb buss. It’s going to the monitor on the stage, but no reverb. Same for the drums effects. Thanks for the help.

Ah good old. Midas Pro. It could be so many things. Bus send turned on and turned up on the channel? Set to post fader? Main channel fader up? Aux mix master turned up? Is it reaching the Fx unit? Aux return turned up and unmuted? Aux return routed to the master?

How can we set gain (7:06) when the card input is after the preamp?

Good catch, you can't, that's a mistake. I was just mid spiel and said the wrong thing. You're right that the input from the card would bypass the channel gain. Also gain would've been applied at the preamp before being recorded.

@@OffshoreAudio no worries. I was hoping you knew something that woul let me set gains without the band. 😀 Thanks.
