    It's definitely a cool looking little bike!! Great for the city, and probably a blast on all of those single lane roads you guys have! One thing that I do find very odd looking ( like you said ) is the separation between the tank and seat. Don't know what they were thinking there!! Excellent review Exeter!!

    After the 40mpg of the Alp and a 125 not being enough I can see myself on one of these as my commuter and daily bike. Thanks for sharing it's something I'm going to keep in mind for the next bike. Brilliant review as always. 🖖🏽😉 But the royal Enfield meteor is 350 and about the same price mark, cruiser bike it's very similar and would be interesting to see a comparison

    I own one here in Korea, keeping all the way outside, and I should say she's not rusty at all. However some rubber parts are decaying in time, but that is fully acceptable to me. Other than that it's nice little bike. Easy to ride, easy to maintain.

      @@exeterrider My pleasure. The one issue known so far (haven't bothered me though) is possible weakness of the spark plug HV-cable. They say it's possible to have it sparking through right to the cylinder block, missing the plug itself. Got mine replaced at the dealer.

    Interesting to see hyosung back in the UK. Many years ago I had two 650cc Aquilas. Although I loved the bikes they had too many issues and they vanished along with various other models such as the comet. They rusted quite quickly too. Finish was poor and it would seem hyosung still have not addressed this. Only two models now here in the UK. Good review but i personally would give this a miss. The gap between the seat and tank is weird too. But each to his own.

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  Před 2 lety +2

      Those 650s, although looked good , they were very much made softly, and I agree with all you said there, however these are slightly better made than the old 650s in my view :)

    Well, I finally made it. I am actually watching this video in Exeter. The first time in the city of my birth for about 50 years! I have enjoyed spending time around my childhood haunts over the last few days (Dawlish, Cockwood, Starcross, Kenton, Teignmouth, Haldon moor, Dartmoor, Belstone, Okehampton, Widecombe, Haytor etc. Sadly in a car, not on a bike. I had forgotten how narrow the roads are in these parts. One compensation I have for being in a car, is that I have a "new" bike inside the car. A 1969 Suzuki T200 Invader (barn find). Plan is to take it home with me to Spain and get to enjoy it in the mountains behind the Costa Del Sol. My son and I got it running well before dismantling it for the journey. So nice to hear a lovely twin 2 stroke again. Looking forward to doing some restoration on it.
    Keep up the good work ER. I enjoy watching your vlogs. Especially on the less common bikes like the Hyosung. As I am now at retirement age, without much money, and being a person of small build, I am never going to go out and buy an expensive big bike. I reckon that smaller bikes can be just as much fun as bigger ones.

      Thats great news Neale and welcome back. The T200 sounds a great bike for a bit of fun on. I bet it goes well and yes the smaller bikes are normally more fun I think . Spanish roads that bike will be heaven!. Thanks for watching : )

      Yes the 300R I found I had to "wind up" a bit more. Low end torque was a bit limited because it would complain and start shuddering. The V twin never complains and just tries its best with no complaints.

    No Honda Rebel 300 sold there? It seems very similar to this bike, although it is a single. RE is trying to position the Meteor as a small cruiser, though to me it’s more of a standard. Hyosung has sold bikes in the US for several years, but they’ve never really had a good reputation here. We don’t see many Chinese bikes yet, so Hyosung has been the bottom rung bike. Korean manufacturers have made great strides in autos, so maybe their bikes will continue to improve as well. As an aside, the Rebel I owned was a good bike, but just too small for my 6 foot frame.

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  Před 2 lety

      They are definitely low to the ground for tall riders. Any lower with this one then it would have been to low for me. It will suit shorter people for sure. The rebel 300 never came to Europe sadly.
