Recently I've discovered that it's the Canadians with the best ideas & talents! Great effect! I also appreciate that you don't have annoying music in the background. You get to it & explain & show it well. Thank you! I'll try this technique on a wall with lighter brown tones. I'm excited to try it!
Looks way more realistic than those wood grain tools! Going to try this on our pillars at the front of our house. I've never liked how flat they feel and I think this would look fantastic! Thanks!!
This is the most straight forward to the point video. I really appreciate it. It is also the most helpfol in pr oi ming, base coat and basic color and technique.
I also was looking at a paper bag technique and I'm SO glad I saw this first! I love that you don't need any special wood graining tools, just paint brushes... FANTASTIC, thank you!
I just did this on a small piece of the leftover plywood from my camper floor and it looks amazing! Thank you for this tutorial. I've been looking for a cost effective way to do that floor and this is it!
This is so great for those that are on a budget but want this look. Did faux wood beams and was very liberal with the knots and looks terrific. You have helped so many here!! Thank you!
I really like your technique. Pushing the old brush and twirling for knots is new for me. I've done a few floors like this but with your technique I think I can do them much faster and even look better. Thank you very much for sharing this.
Thank you so much. This video is the fastest way to do floors I've found anywhere, and with the very best result. I imagine for a weathered look I may be able to use other paint colors such as the very darkest gray, Lighter gray and white. This was very helpful. I'm ready to get to work now that i have a technique that wont take years to finish. Smile! Bless you!
Wow! What a fantastic tutorial. So glad I came across this. I would love to try this with grey tones on my floor that is so in need of an update. Save some $$ too. You sir, are a genius! 😊
I had nasty carpet and little $- seeing your videos inspired me- I am doing my ENTIRE house with your technique and I LOVE IT! Thank you for sharing your expertise- I am SO happy with the results! I have done large living room/ dining room and by cutting the paint with water as you suggest- 1 gallon of lighter brown and 1 of darker may do about 1400 sq ft. awesome result for minimal cost. A lot of hard work- but worth the savings.
I did this - and it is amazing! In a spare bedroom, I Pulled up 40hr old carpet and painted over particle board at my parents’ house!!! ❤️❤️ I will probably end up doing most of their house like this!
I was looking for a cheap way to make plywood look ike wood for a pirate ship Halloween display. This is perfect! Thank you!! Will use in my home as well. The ship will give me good practice!
Looks great! I cringed while watching at the mistreatment of the brush at first, going against the direction of the bristles and splaying them, but then I saw how it leaves such interesting strokes like that! Definitely worth sacrificing a brush for creating such a nice faux wood! Well done!
Thank you for this tutorial! I just did a practice one and it came out perfect! I’m excited to do this on my basement floors! Excellent tutorial and technique! Again! Thank you!
I will definitely be practicing this! Have 4 rooms we didn't complete when putting in our wood, and now, of course, they no longer carry the random sizes we first installed, and it's nearly 3xs the cost.
The way that knot flew out of your brush is a super Bob Ross mode!!!!!
Holy 🐮 that was a great technique. You literally have the best results here on CZcams.
I agree!
